Abstract

Speed and agility are two important components in sports. Both are commonly used to indicate an athlete's physical fitness in training. Therefore, special training is needed to improve speed and agility. Exercise is an activity that is carried out repeatedly to achieve better physical, mental, and psychological enhancement. The type of exercise used varies for each physical condition that needs to be improved. This study examined the use of 40-yard sprint and A-movement exercise to improve speed and agility. The research design is a quasi- experimental study with participants consist of 30 male students of SMAN 1 Banyuwangi, aged 16-18 years old, who are members of futsal extracurricular club. The training program was conducted for 6 weeks with a frequency of 3 meetings every Sunday. The obtained results of statistical calculations were normal and homogeneous data. Calculation of the effect test with α = 5% obtained significance values of 0.00 for speed and 0.004 for agility. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the 40-yard sprint and A-movement exercise combined are effective to improve speed and agility. Further research is suggested to find out which type of exercise is better at increasing speed and agility.

Abstract

This research aims to develop a learning material for adaptive physical education with Problem-Based-Learning model applied to down syndrome students in the school for special need to teach motor capability and sosial interactiion. This Research and Development will use the ADDIE methods in applying learning tools through two phases. The small trial scale held in one school (3 students), and the large trial scale held in two schools (15 students). Results of smallscale trial: from the learning process got  83,3 % (very good), response from user got 88 %, result of social interaction skills form and motor skills form got 94 % and 92 % (very good). Results from large scale trial: average from the learning process got 89% (very good), average from users respon got 80,5 %, average value of social interaction skills form and motor skills form got 97,5 % and 96,8 % (very good). Based on the results, it concluded that the developed learning tools was already feasible for the down syndrome and it can be employed to teach motor skills and interact socially, and make a positive response from teachers. Hopefully that the product can be useful in the world of education, especially for DS.

Abstract

Student academic problems have always been a concern of the government and teachers, various methods and design of learning that are used in improving academic achievement and student learning outcomes. This study examines the relationship of physical fitness to student learning outcomes. The number of samples 28 people selected from the population of 35 people with purposive sampling technique. Data collection techniques using 5 physical fitness test instruments and for learning outcomes taken from the results of midterm exams. Data analysis techniques used the Kolmogorof Smirnof One Sample Test and Pearson Spearman Correlation Test. The results showed that the highest physical fitness score of 24 was included in the very good category and the lowest score was 13, which means it was still lacking, the highest average student learning outcomes were 79.92 and the lowest average value was 72.28. While the Correlation analysis shows the value (r) 0.304 with a probability level (0.005) <α0.05 so there is a significant relationship between the two variables. Based on the analysis it is concluded that there is a relationship between the level of physical fitness with student learning outcomes, the better the physical fitness, the better the student learning outcomes will be.

Abstract

Free diving (freedive) depends on the ability to hold the breath (apnea). Apnea is thought to have a correlation with the body's ability to consume oxygen (VO2max). This research aims to study the correlation between VO2max and apnea ability. Subjects in this study were men aged 20-25 years as many as 36 people. VO2max measured using MFT test, while the measurement of apnea ability is represented by the duration of apnea as measured by the duration of sitting still under water. The results of one-way correlation tests were found to be p<0.05, which means there was a correlation between VO2max and apnea duration. While the correlation coefficient of -0.44 shows that the direction of the correlation is negative with the strength of the correlation is weak. From these results it can be concluded that the higher VO2max there is a tendency for apnea ability to be lower.

The research respondents were 60 active students from 2014-2019 Faculty of Sports Science, Semarang State University selected by quota sampling. The Instrument research use questionnaire that refers to the Female Athlete Triad: Cumulative Risk Assessment. The results showed the risk of impaired energy availability from a history of low frequency of eating 50% (n = 30), regulate body weight 41.7% (n = 25), specific lifestyle 40% (n = 24), fasting habits 60% (n = 36) and eating disorders 65% (n = 39). The risk of menstrual disorders of menarche delayed was 25% (n = 15), oligomenorrhea 50% (n = 30) and amenorrhea secondary 53.3% (n = 32). Risk of bone disorders 30% (n = 18). The description of the results of this study shows that the risk of sports college students suffering from FAT syndrome is quite large. The most surprising finding in this study was the low level of knowledge and information related to FAT syndrome among sports students. Given the large impact on health, necessary screening and further medical examinations as well as providing education about FAT syndrome disorders to female college students.

Abstract

The aims of this article is to find out how the effects of omega 3 supplementation and physical exercise on the inflammatory response. The method applied is literature review. The results showed that omega 3 supplementation and regular exercise can reduce the inflammatory response that is not controlled. Inflammation is a protective response caused by injury or tissue damage. After physical activity the body will experienced an increase in inflammatory markers, namely C-Reactive Protein (CRP), Interleukin 1 (IL-1), Interleukin 6 (IL-6), Interleukin 10 (IL-10) and Tumor Necrosis Factor-a (TNF-a). Physical exercise, especially high-intensity eccentric exercises, will cause damage to muscle fibers and delayed muscle pain (DOMS) which results in disruption to muscle strength. Muscle pain is caused by an inflammatory process due to increased levels (TNF-a) in response to muscle damage. Inflammatory response that is not controlled can be controlled by giving omega 3 supplementation. It can be concluded that omega 3 supplementation and regular exercise are proven to reduce the inflammatory response that is not controlled, soto reduce the intensity of pain which support the performance in carrying out the exercise program.
