Abstract

Islamic education curriculum development dynamics need significant attention from educational practitioners to determine its policies following the expected goals. It is known that Islamic education in Indonesia has not been running as expected due to the output that does not have competence and personality in accordance with the spirit of Islam. This research aimed to develop the Islamic education curriculum by reforming the education goal formulation. This was implemented by adapting the concept of Insan Kamil in the Quran into Islamic education curriculum development. A literature study found that the formulation of Insan Kamil's goals not only includes cognitive, affective, and psychomotor aspects but also a solid spiritual realm. Consequently, the goal formulation was considered a solution to the development of Islamic education curriculum in producing Insan Kamil, who has faith, piety, and noble character and always has ma'rifatullah.

Abstract

The background of this research is the implementation of multicultural education that has been carried out by several Non Government Organizations (NGOs) in cooperation with the 22 high-level secondary schools in the range of 2005-2013. The author wants to know if the multicultural education is still being conducted and also wants to know the factors that affect the implementation of the multicultural education, especially on the aspects of the curriculum and teaching materials. The author conducts research on 12 (twelve) schools that have ever run the program.  The study was conducted for two months with ethnographic methods. The author performs in-depth interviews alongside observations and library reviews. The results of this research show that the implementation of this program does not last according to the plan, although teenagers from schools studied in general are already aware of the multicultural education. Multicultural knowledge is still relatively low, but they want to learn the other ethnic culture. Other problems were found that the school did not continue the program because the curriculum of multicultural education and the existing teaching materials have not been perfected. Another important finding is that regional autonomy on the one hand can be an opportunity for schools to encourage multicultural education models but on the other hand to nourish identity politics. Both sides tend to be opposite, so it takes creative effort to connect them into the space of democracy and pluralism at school level. Violence in West Kalimantan can only be abolished when the community knows the root cause, then want and dare to face, deciding which chain that encourages violence is happening. If not then other violence will occur, and finally West Kalimantan will fall into the spiral of violence, as happened so far.

Abstract

PAI teachers in implementing cooperative learning strategies namely by conveying information verbally and students working together in groups to process information. When studying groups, PAI teachers evaluate students to see the group's success. The steps in cooperative learning can be achieved if there is an effort to increase student participation, facilitate students with experience leadership attitudes and always provide opportunities for students to learn and interact with students with different backgrounds. Implementing cooperative learning strategies requires good cooperation between team members. Students are the focal point of the learning process. The teacher as a facilitator as well as a moderator for the sustainability of cooperative learning strategies. The purpose of implementing a cooperative learning strategy has three important objectives, namely the first objective cooperative learning is intended to increase the activity of students in important academic tasks (academic achievement). The second goal is tolerance and broader acceptance of people of different races, cultures, social classes, or abilities (tolerance and acceptance of diversity). The third goal is to teach the skills of collaboration and collaboration with students (Social Skills Development).

Abstract

Teaching and learning activities (learning), especially the subjects of history, the focus or object of their discussion about human activities (events) that are relevant to the past with their evidence based on space and time. So to explain past events with current conditions, presumably separating problems in the implementation of learning. With the classical learning method (lecture method) and learning that is always carried out in the classroom, so that it affects the interest and activeness of students in participating in learning history. So it is not surprising that stigmatization appears that history lessons seem very boring. Therefore, hopefully with this writing, it can be a solution in learning history by utilizing local historical relics as a source of learning or other activities that contain educational value. In this article, outlining and presenting examples of how to use colonial heritage buildings in the city of Ternate as a source of learning. Because it is necessary to know that, the existence of historic buildings (fortresses) with a large number in the city of Ternate. So it is very effective if the existing potential can be used as a source of learning with the Outdoor Study approach. In addition, this article also explains the steps of outdoor study-based learning in utilizing historical relics as learning resources.
