Abstract

Mindanao is the second largest island in Philippines and one of the three main island groups along with Luzon and Visayas, the South Philippines . Mindanao is one of region in Southeast Asia which has been spectacularly a bright spot of world-class terrorism, because of the very high incidents of piracy and the ever-growing threat of terrorism. Southeast Asia is the region most vulnerable to piracy, accounting for about 50 percent of all attacks worldwide. This situation is exacerbated by the indigenous people of terrorist groups with strong maritime traditions. The nexus exchange between piracy and terrorism makes maritime terrorism in Southeast Asia a regional security concern. The Abu Sayyaf (ASG), Free Aceh Movement (Gerakan Aceh Merdeka, GAM), and Jemaah Islamiyah (JI) are the three terrorist groups in South Philippines, Southeast Asia with the intent and proven ability to engage in maritime terrorism. Of this group, the Abu Sayyaf is the best known but least understood and it has been source of tension in the South Philippines and Southeast Asia

Abstract

This article argues, terrorist cell germination occurs because of people in the community who don't want to care or even protect terrorists. There are even community members who take them as sons-in-law. No wonder then that they are very hard to find; and once the place where they kissed the authorities, they had already fled to another place that was not known to security officials. Therefore, once again, the collaboration of all levels of society, the government and various related ministries, security forces, mass organizations, and social leadership is absolutely essential in combating terrorism. Terrorism for any reason cannot be justified; and terrorism is one of the most naked forms of crime against humanity.

Abstract

This treatise opens with a small question: Why Sutan Sjahrir married Poppy Saleh Mengundiningrat in Cairo, Egypt in the 1950s and did not in Jakarta? Poppy was studying at the London School, England and Sjahrir in Jakarta, the two then flew to Cairo and married there, witnessed by Soedjatmoko, a child of revolution, which is also a leading intelligentsia and political cadre of Sjahrir. Apparently, the First Prime Minister of the Republic of Indonesia, Sutan Sjahrir had a speck of history in the Middle East during the war of independence 1945-1949, which makes its way to Egypt to meet with the Arab leaders, fighters, intellectuals, activists and warriors. Sjahrir even met Hassan al-Bana, founder of the Muslim Brotherhood persistent against colonialism and imperialism in the Muslim world, especially the Middle East. Sjahrir asked the Arab world to mobilize supports for the independence of Indonesia. Sjahrir known as the Socialists that grow from the Minangkabau world and the Western-educated to find a foothold in the Middle East struggle to carry out a diplomatic mission of the President Soekarno and Vice President M. Hatta, for the people of Indonesia. We should remember and recall, Sjarir as a hero, eventhough he is almost forgotten by this nation.

Abstract

Nationalism among Indonesian Muslims has grown since a number of sultans in the homeland against the Dutch. The resistance of the empire was a physical war against the Dutch. After the Dutch conquered almost all local sultanates and kingdoms, so that the Dutch controlled Indonesia completely, the form of resistance then changed. Changes in the form of struggle are marked by the birth of Islamic movements, both in the form of madrasa (schools), mass organizations, and political parties. Awareness of the spirit of nationalism was formed from the age of the empire, which then continued to grow among Islamic mass organizations, eventually becoming more crystallized within the bodies of political parties.

Abstract

Field data obtained in five districts / cities in Aceh can be represented as a sample of all regions in Aceh. The cities that are used as primary data references are Kota Lhokseumawe, Banda Aceh, Meulaboh, Takengon, and Langsa City assuming Lhokseumawe and Langsa represent Coastal Aceh, Banda Aceh Aceh Government Center, Meulaboh representing the south west Aceh region and Takengon representing the central Aceh region . It is increasingly clear that Narcotics and Prostitution Practices have become Aceh's problems that must be addressed and overcome by the government and the community in a continuous and simultaneous and comprehensive manner so that they do not become widespread in the future.

Abstract

Article explains that there is a view that democracy and violence often go hand in hand, and the point at which democratic states decide to use violence is merely subjective, and is a matter of political decision, and not ethical necessity. This is indeed a difficult thing to accept in the context of democracy, even though it is more representative of a realistic calculation or consideration that encourages politicians or the government in deciding whether or not to use violence. Indonesia's future seems full of uncertainty, because liberal and socialist influence continues to diminish, while secularism continues to be battered by the rise of political Islamization. This is especially true if the country weakens and a number of political factions carry out radicalization.

Abstract

Abstract

In the Shiite (Syiah) concept, human leadership is rooted in Divine leadership. Allah chose man as the caliph on earth. For human salvation, He chose men who already have perfection in the nature and development of their personality. These humans are the Prophets who become priests in religious matters, and leaders in social affairs. The Prophets were followed by the Aushiya (testament recipients). From the aushiya continued by the fakih. Human leadership is thus the existence of God's leadership over humans. At this point, the Shiites believe in a unity of leadership, namely worldly leadership (social government) and spiritual leadership (spiritual religion). But what's interesting is that selection to become a fakih is very difficult and extra tight. Therefore, it is not difficult to find among the Shiites a bureaucratic elite leader who is proficient and has deep knowledge of his religion in a person at once

Abstract

In the context of Aceh, its society and social-ecnonomic development, based on a number of literatures, the meaning of local wisdom can be drawn from the values, norms, laws and knowledge formed by religious teachings, beliefs, traditional values and experiences inherited from ancestors ultimately forming a local knowledge system that is used to solve everyday problems by the community. Aceh, as a region, in addition to following national law practices and provisions, also has customary institutions and traditional / cultural values with its own management that involves community leaders who know a great deal about local wisdom in the region. This is where the roles of traditional leaders, religious leaders and socio-cultural figures are considered important in harmonizing local wisdom with spatial regulation and environmentally sustainable development
