Abstract

The objective of this research is to find the effect of the Audio- Lingual Method on speaking achievement of the second grade of students on English Department of the HKBP Nommensen University Medan in academic year 2018/ 2019 which is focused on dialog speaking encompassing the pronunciation, vocabulary, grammar, fluency, and comprehension. This design of the research was the experimental quantitative design which applied two variables, such as a dependent variable as a speaking ability and an independent variable as an Audio- Lingual Method. Having analyzed the data, the writer found that the Audio- Lingual Method affects students’ speaking ability. There was a different mean score obtained from the both control group 65, 28 and the experimental group is 8,031. The result of the calculation is: Tabs > table (P= 0.05); (df= 48) And 8,031 > 2,010 (P = 0.05); (df = 48). The alternative hypothesis of the method is accepted. The students’ speaking ability by using the Audio- Lingual Method shows better results compared to those who did not teach by using the Audio- Lingual Method. It is suggested for English teacher to use the Audio- Lingual Method as the way to improve the students’ English speaking ability.

Abstract

This type of research is classroom action research (Classroom Action Research) with the aim of improving student learning outcomes on heat material with a cooperative learning model of Think Pair Share (TPS) type assisted by Physics Education Technology (PhET) learning media to improve student learning outcomes in class X semester II SMK Negeri 1 Dolok Merawan TP 2019/2020. The subjects of this study were all students of class X semester II SMA Negeri 1 Batang Kuis. The object of this research is the application of the Think Pair Share (TPS) cooperative learning model with the help of Physics Education Technology (PhET) media on vibration and wave material in class X SMA Negeri 1 Batang Kuis. The instruments used in this research are learning outcomes tests and student activity observation sheets that have been tested and declared valid. After the data is collected and analyzed, the results of data analysis are obtained: There is an increase in the average grade value from the initial test to the first cycle and from the first cycle to the second cycle by 35.76 to 56.53 and from 56.53 to 83.85. the percentage of completeness from the initial test to the first cycle is 26.92% and from the first cycle to the second cycle is 61.08%. This can be seen from the classical completeness of 0% to 26.92% and from 26.92% to 88%. From the results of the data analysis, it can be concluded that the Think Pair Share (TPS) Cooperative learning model assisted by the Physics Education Technology (PhET) learning media is able to improve learning outcomes in heat material for class X semester II students of SMA Negeri 1 Batang Kuis T.P. 2019/2020.

Abstract

Nearly all people of the church is exposed to pandemic covid-1, instead they are not exposed to sars virus covid-19, they are exposed to predisposition, frailty, and any other social impacts. Indicators of ABC, Attendance (crowded by visitors), Building and Cash flow currently deemed as measurement of successful church service abruptly changed amid covid-19. In fact, church visitors drastically decreased, church building would be vacant and cash flow particularly income definitely declines. If in history the world was suffered from pandemic for several times, it suggested that a pandemic may happens in such a prolonged time, then church is unlikely to dwell on this condition, church is unlikely to be underdeveloped with the same pattern. This study offered the possibility to church to switch to solidarity services, the mission transfers to the deepest part of the church. There is a challenge for the church to transform into more humanity, pursue solidarity, try to be more gracious, be concerned about other. Identification of solidarity and brotherhood becomes indicators of missional Church. The mission shifted into any different form of loving service, particularly for those who are the most vulnerable.

Abstract

Abstrak Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian tindakan kelas dalam pembelajaran kalkulus, yang terlaksana dalam dua siklus. Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar mahasiswa pada mata kuliah Kalkulus II dengan menerapkan model pembelajaran matematika Knisley (MPMK), yang diukur dari nilai tes dan motivasi belajar. Tahapan dalam setiap siklus dilakukan sesuai dengan apa yang dinyatakan oleh Kemmis dan Mc Taggar yaitu perencanaan, tindakan, pengamatan/evaluasi dan refleksi. Keberhasilan penerapan model ini ditentukan oleh perolehan nilai rata-rata tes/ujian berbobot minimum B, dengan ketuntasan belajar lebih besar atau sama dengan 75%. Pada akhir siklus nilai rata-rata mahasiswa meningkat dari 57,6 (pretest) menjadi 78,5 dan ketuntasan belajar meningkat dari 41,6% (pretes) menjadi 90%. Motivasi belajar mahasiswa berada pada kategori tinggi sebesar 90%. Pencapaian ini diduga karena mahasiswa diberi ruang yang besar untuk mengeksplorasi kemampuan yang memicu peningkatan motivasi belajar mandiri. Kata kunci: hasil belajar, motivasi, model pembelajaran matematika Knisley, Abstract This research is a classroom action research in the calculus course, which is carried out in two cycles. The study aimed to improve student learning outcomes in the Calculus II course by applying the Knisley mathematics learning model, which was measured by test scores and learning motivation. The stages in each cycle are carried out according to Kemmis and Mc Taggar’s model, namely planning, action, observation/evaluation, and reflection. The success of the MPMK application is determined by an average score achievement of the test/exam with a minimum weight of B and learning completeness greater than or equal to 75%. At the end of the cycle, the average score of the students increased from 57.6 (pretest) to 78.5, and learning completeness increased from 41.6% (pretest) to 90%. Student learning motivation is in the high category of 90%. This achievement may be the impact of students being given a large space to explore their abilities that become a trigger for increasing self-study motivation. Abstract

Characteristics of chemical materials are (1) Abstract, (2) Complex and multidisciplinary, (3). Involves analytical arithmetic operations. The transition from high school to university level is a learning process that is quite difficult if it is not accompanied by the right understanding. Understanding the concept of chemical materials obtained from high school, when studied at the university level, different meanings are obtained. This different understanding is what we often call misconceptions. Therefore, to find out the misconceptions that occur in students is a necessity and need for lecturers or teachers, so that they can be used as guidelines and guidance to deal with these misconceptions. This study was conducted to identify the percentage level of difficulty and general chemistry misconceptions for students of mathematics education at the University of HKBP Nommensen, using a random sampling technique. This research was carried out in 5 stages, namely (1). Creating a four-tier test diagnostic instrument; (2) Judgment of instruments by experts; (3) Data collection and interviews (4). Data processing and analysis, (5). Conclusion. Based on the results of data analysis and identification results in this study, the category of student conceptions in the Acid-Base solution material is the percentage of students who experience several categories of conception, namely understanding concepts, understanding partially, misconceptions, not understanding concepts and cannot be coded. The percentage of these categories is as follows; 24% of students fall into the category of understanding concepts, 32% of students fall into the category of partial understanding, 11% of students fall into the category of misconceptions, 30% of students fall into the category of not understanding concepts and 2% of students fall into the category of not being able to code, which means that not all students answered all the questions in the four-tier diagnostic test instrument. There are 2% who did not answer the four-tier diagnostic test.

Abstract

Semiotika merupakan sebuah sebuah kajian mengenai tanda. Puisi-puisi Pengagum Rindu oleh M. Hanfanaraya mengandung unsur semiotika seperti ikon, indeks, dan simbol. Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk mengetahui dan menganalisis semiotika dalam puisi-puisi Pengagum Rindu oleh M. Hanfanaraya. Ruang lingkup penelitian merupakan kajian kritik sastra yaitu kajian semiotika. Pembatasan masalah dalam penelitian yaitu penulis mengambil semua aspek semiotika pada jenis tanda seperti ikon, indeks, dan simbol. Sumber data ada dua yaitu sumber data primer dan sumber data sekunder. Jenis penelitian adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan yaitu teknik hermeneutik dan dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data menggunakan teknik analisis teks. Hasil penelitian yang ditemukan yaitu: (1) Aspek ikon terdapat sebanyak 58 data yang terdiri dari kata, (2) Aspek indeks yang ditemukan yaitu sebanyak 4 (empat) data yang terdiri dari kutipan puisi, dan (3) Aspek simbol yang ditemukan yaitu sebanyak 6 (enam) data yang terdiri dari kata, gabungan kata, dan frasa.

Abstract

This study aims to determine whether the increase in students' understanding ability with the blended learning learning model is better than the understanding ability of students whose learning uses conventional learning models in terms of every aspect of understanding ability and whether the increase in students' logical reasoning with the blended learning learning model is better than students' logical reasoning. with conventional learning models. This study uses a quantitative research approach with experimental methods in the form of quasi-experiments. The population in this study were students of the Christian religious education study program, FKIP University HKBP Nommensen. The population was taken randomly (Cluster Random Sampling). The instrument used consisted of a test of understanding and logical reasoning in the form of a description. The instrument was declared to have met the requirements of content validity and reliability coefficient. Based on the results of the analysis, the research results obtained that the increase in students' understanding abilities with the blended learning learning model is better than the understanding abilities of students whose learning uses conventional learning models, and the increase in students' logical reasoning with the blended learning learning model is better than the logical reasoning of students with conventional learning models

Abstract

This study is the result of measuring students' motivation, perception and achievement in learning mathematics using a quantitative approach with multiple regression techniques. The sample in this study were all 32 students of class 11A22, 32 students at Quality Berastagi University, PGSD study program. Data on the level of students' motivation and perceptions were obtained through a questionnaire, while data on mathematics learning achievement was obtained from the results of the mathematics test on the subject of cubes and blocks. From the research results obtained information that the learning motivation of 37.5% of students included in the low category. Students' perception of mathematics is 34.4% of students in the medium category. While the average student achievement shows a pretty good achievement, as many as 37.5% of students. The influence of students' motivation and perceptions of mathematics on student achievement in mathematics is indicated by a coefficient of determination of 0.76. This shows that the percentage of the contribution of the influence of students' motivation and perception on mathematics to mathematics learning achievement is 76%. So the motivation and perception of students together have a significant effect on the mathematics learning achievement of 11A22 students at Quality Berastagi University, PGSD study program.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui prespektif dosen mengenai efektivitas pembelajaran daringdi lingkungan Universitas Quality Berastagi. Pertanyaan yang ingin dijawab melalui penelitian ini adalah: 1) Apakah pelaksanaan pembelajaran daring terbukti efektif? 2) Apa kelebihan dan kekurangan pembelajaran daring? Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data wawancara dan dokumentasi. Subyek penelitian adalah dosen di lingkungan Universitas Quality Berastagi. Teknik analisa data pada penelitian ini menggunakan analisa data deskriptif kualitatif model interaktif dari Milles dan Michael Huberman yang terdiri dari tiga jalur kegiatan bersamaan yaitu; reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Temuan penelitian menunjukkan bahwa 1) Pelaksanaan pembelajaran daring kurang efektif. 2) Kelebihan pembelajaran daring adalah waktu belajar fleksibel, siswa lebih dekat dengan orang tua,rsiswa tidak bergantung pada dosen dan melatih mahasiswa lebih mandiri. Sedangkan kekurangan pelaksanaan pembelajaran daring adalah dosen tidak dapat berinteraksi langsung dengan siswa, dan tdk dapat mengetahui keseluruha karakteriskti mahasiswa serta tidak stabilnya jaringan internet.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to see the effect of the Quantum Teaching learning model used by Christian Religious Education teachers in the formation of student character. The sample in this study was 50 people. This study used descriptive methods, while the data analysis carried out in the hypothesis research was Pearson's product moment correlation with data collection tools, namely a questionnaire for Variable X (Influence of Quantum Teaching Learning Model) and Variable Y (Student Character Building) The statistical test used in this research is using the Pearson Product Moment Correlation statistical test. From the test results obtained correlation test (r) 0.96 with a determination test of 92% and to determine whether or not the correlation coefficient is significant at the real level (α) = 0.05, the "t" test is held. From the test results obtained tcount > ttable (3.19 > 1.67), then the hypothesis is accepted. Thus, it can be stated that there is an influence of the Quantum Teaching Learning model in PAK learning on the character formation of students in the era of online learning.
