Abstract

Until now, lot of companies that already have data that is so large and the development of data is so quickly and with the plurality of data formats. Not only in units hundreds of Mega or Giga again but have reached the realm of Tera data countless. Besides the diversity of the data format itself, today not just formatted text but can be video or image as well as the format of other data. With the trend of data continues to grow, sometimes aspect of data security was often overlooked and even ignored.

Abstract

This study examines the impact of selected Social Network Platforms on the dissemination of knowledge and information for students of the National Open University of Nigeria. Three major social network platforms are considered in this study, they are: Facebook, Web-blogs and YouTube. Research questions were asked based on the objectives of this study and a number of hypotheses were formulated. The questionnaire used as the survey instrument was carefully designed and distributed to some students within the study domain. This comprised of the registered students for 2016/2017 Academic Session at the National Open University of Nigeria, Ilorin and Oshogbo Study Centres. Questionnaires were administered to a total of 600 students in the two centres. The data collected are analyzed using Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS). Findings from this study show that, 80% of the respondents indicate the positive impact of the three social network platforms under study. The impacts of the three networks are also found to be significant. The study further reveals that, effective utilization of educational features of Social Network Platforms has a great and tremendous advantage to students if optimally put to use. It is recommended that students who find the use of Social Network Platforms distracting to academics, should reduce the time they dedicate to exploration of online resources and in particular on these platforms: Facebook, Web-blogs and YouTube.

Abstract

Measles is also known as morbili in Latin and measles in English. Measles, in the past is considered as something that must be experienced by every child, they assume, that measles can heal itself if it was already out, so that children with measles do not need to be treated. This study examines the case of measles and the causes of measles. The variables used in the study were cases of measles (Y), population density (X1), immunization coverage (X2), average incidence (X3), and number of deaths (X4) in Indonesia covering all provinces. The study examined the pattern of spread, then given a SEM application to identify how much influence the measles factor can affect the case of measles in Indonesia. The results of the study show that Measles Cases in Indonesia have a regional grouping pattern. The modeling results using SEM show lambda and all significant variables. The SEM model produced AIC of 462,429 which was better than the regression of the SLM model with AIC of 467,499.

Abstract

Introducing and teaching color is one of the important parts in learning in childhood period. One of the learning color methods that effective enough is identifying color from the concrete things in the environment with parent assistance to mention the color object. it becomes a limitation when children usually want to play and explore. This research aims to create a toy product which can be used as color learning media for children by still interacting with their environment. Therefore, the researchers will create toy products in the shape of sword and princess stick that can identify object color and produce voice based on the object. Voice output can be selected in Indonesian and English. The main program of this system is identifying object color and audio reading of object color that placed closed to the toy using TCS3200 color censor and Arduino Nano.

Abstract

Indonesia is one of the countries hit by many disasters. During the last five years the disaster increased in the last year, namely in 2016. In terms of the types of disasters, most were floods. The flood disaster has the highest incidence rate in Central Java Province. Flood is a natural phenomenon where there is excess water which is not accommodated by drainage in an area. To be able to identify the risk of flooding that affects humans and their environment, it is necessary to know the causes. The causes of flooding can come from natural and non-natural factors. Seeing the high incidence of flooding in Central Java, the authors drew attention to research whether the factors that influence flooding in the province and how to model it by looking at the spatial effects in it using Geographically Weighted Regression (GWR) analysis. The results showed that the incidence of flooding using GWR analysis had four significant variables, namely rainfall, rainy days, humidity and area. From the model obtained, it has R2 of 56%, and has as many as six models of variables that are significant for each region.

Abstract

This paper discusses the Enterprise Architecture (EA) implementation readiness measurement model. One of the definitions of EA is a framework or blueprint that an organization uses to achieve business goals by identifying important strategies, namely business, information, applications, and technology and their impact on business functions. Measuring the readiness of EA implementation in an institution is useful to reduce the potential losses due to failure of EA implementation. By identifying the supporting factors for the success of EA implementation, a measurement model for EA implementation readiness can be formulated and can be used as a reference to determine the readiness of an institution in EA implementation. The application of the model was carried out at two high education institutions with a different academic domain

Abstract

Scholarships are awards from an institution or an individual to someone for educational purposes. Scholarships can be given free or on conditions that prospective scholarship grantee must-have. The scholarship grantee selection process is usually with several criteria in order to get grantee who can be declared elected as scholarship grantee. The use of several criteria in the selection process requires more analysis to determine the scholarship grantee. Moora (Multi-Objective Optimization on The Base of Ratio Analysis) is one of the methods of decision support systems that can be used to assist decision-makers in making decisions. This study takes scholarship acceptance criteria as a parameter then each parameter is given a weight based on the priority of each parameter. The results of this study are to get an optimization value of each alternative then after ranking, it can be seen the ranking of scholarship grantee.
