Abstract

Utilization of Lamtoro Leaf Green Manure (Leucaena Leucocephala) and Banana Weevil Liquid Organic Fertilizer on Growth and Production of Long Beans (Vigna Sinensis L). Under the guidance of Mr. Ir.H.Gusmiezal,MP as chairman and Mr. Ir .H.Abdul Rahman, MS as a member. The study was conducted in the experimental garden of the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Medan Area. Percut Sei Tuan District, Deli Serdang Regency, North Sumatra in July-October 2021. The study used a factorial randomized block design (RAK), with 2 (2) treatment factors, namely; the first is (1) the factor of giving lamtoro leaf green manure with 4 (4) levels of treatment, namely; L0 = without treatment (control) L1 = dose of 10 tons/ha (1.44 kg/plot) L2 = dose of 20 tons/ha (2.88 kg/plot) L3 = dose of 30 tons/ha (4, 32 kg/ha)The second (2) factor for giving liquid organic green Pupuh Banana weevil, namely; P0 = without organic fertilizer (control) P1 = application of organic fertilizer with a concentration of 5% P2 = application of organic fertilizer with a concentration of 10% P3 = application of organic fertilizer with a concentration of 15%. Parameters observed were: Plant height (cm), Stem diameter (cm). Flowering age (days). Production per plant (g). Production per plot (kg). The results showed that the green manure of lamtoro leaves showed significant results in the L3 treatment with a dose of 30 tons/ha (4.32 kg/plot) and for the application of liquid organic fertilizer the Banana Bonggol gave significant results in the P3 treatment with a concentration of 15%. For the combination of the 2 treatments, the real treatment was L1P3 (Lamtoro application with Banana weevil POC).

Abstract

Lack of availability of soil nutrients to excessive leaching and erosion, this makes it difficult to get soil media. It is alternative as nutrients replasment such as empty bunch ash and rice husk biochar. This study aims to determine the response of  vegetative growth of oil palm seedlings with the provision of empty bunch ash and rice husk biochar in the prenursery. The design used in this study was a factorial randomized block design (RAK) consisting  2 (two) treatment factors, namely : 1) empty bunch ash dose factors (A) which consists of 4 levels, namely: A0= control (without empty bunch ash), A1= empty bunch ash 250 gr/polybag 2 kg, A2= empty bunch ash 500 gr/polybag 2 kg, A3= empty bunch ash 750 gr/polybag 2 kg. 2) dose factor of rice husk biochar (B) concisting of 4 levels, namely: B0= control (without rice husk biochar), B1= rice husk biochar 5 tons/ha (0.5 kg/plot) or 100 gr/polybag 2 kg, B2= rice husk biochar 10 tons/ha (1 kg/plot) or 200 gr/polybag 2 kg, B3= rice husk biochar 15 tons/ha (1.5 kg/plot) or 250 gr/polybag 2 kg. The result showed that the empty bunch ash treatment had a significant effect on plant height, stem diameter, leaf area and number of leaves, the A1 treatment with 250 gr/polybag (25%) was the best treatment had a significant effect, B3 treatment by giving 250 gr/polybag (1,5 kg/plot) was the best treatment to be applied to prenursery oil palm seedlings.

Abstract

Shallot (Allium ascalonicum L.) is one of the main vegetable in Indonesia and has many benefits. However, the production of shallots has not been stable in the past few years due to crop failures. Tree Caured by attacks by plant-disturbing that can reduce yields by 50%-75%. Banana waste has not been widely used for compost, while the potential for banana waste contains important. Manure compost is a provider of nutrients that are gradually renewed and available to plants. Soil fertilized with cow manure for a long time can still give good results. This research method used a factorial randomized block design consisting of 2 factors, namely 1). Banana Waste Compost FHIA-17 (P) consists of 4 levels, P0 = Control, P1 = 5 tons/ha, P2 = 10 tons/ha, P3 = 15 tons/ha. 2) Cowshed Compost (K) which consists of 4 levels, namely K0 = Control, K1 = 5 tons/ha, K2 = 10 tons/ha, K3 = 15 tons/ha. The results of this study showed that the application of FHIA-17 banana waste compost did not show a significant effect on the growth and production of shallot plants, and the application of cow manure compost did not show a significant effect on the growth and production of shallots.

Abstract

Gambas (Luffa acutangula, L.) is an annual vegetable plant belonging to the fruit vegetable group originating from India, but has adapted well in Southeast Asia including Indonesia. This study aims to determine the effect of liquid organic fertilizer application from tempe industrial waste and application of onion peel compost on the growth and production of gambas. This research method uses a factorial randomized block design (RAK) which consists of 2 factors, namely: application of liquid organic fertilizer from tempe industrial waste and onion skin compost. The provision of liquid organic fertilizer for tempe industrial waste consists of 4 levels of treatment, namely: B0 = control/without treatment, B1 = Liquid Organic Fertilizer 22 ml/L, B2 = Liquid Organic Fertilizer 44 ml/L, B3 = Liquid Organic Fertilizer 66 ml/L L. The second factor of onion peel compost consisted of 4 levels of treatment, namely: P0 = Control/without treatment, P1 = Shallot Skin Compost 10 tons/ha (1.2 kg), P2 = Shallot Compost 20 tons/ha (2 ,4 kg), P3 = Compost of Shallot Skin 30 tons/ha (3.6 kg). Observation variables included: plant length (cm), number of leaves (strands), fruit diameter per sample plant (cm), fruit length from sample plant (cm), fruit weight per sample plant (g), fruit weight per plot (g), number of fruits per plot (g). The results showed that the combination of liquid organic fertilizer from tempe industrial waste and onion peel compost had a significant effect on plant length and fruit weight per sample plant, but had no significant effect on leaf number, fruit diameter, fruit length, fruit weight per plot and number of fruits per plot.

Abstract

Sweet corn (Zea mays saccaharata Strut L.) is one of the most staple food crops and has been demanded for decadest. Sweet corn has a great opportunity to be developed because it can be one of the main sources of carbohydrates and protein. One of the causes of the low production of sweet corn is the decrease in soil productivity due to nutrient leaching by rainwater, improper soil management, and soil fertility. This research was conducted by purponing a Split Plot Design of 2 treatment factors, namely; (1) Soil tillage factor (P) consists of 2 levels, (P1 = Minimum Soil Tillage and P2 = Intensive Soil Processing), (2) Organic Mulch (M) consists of 6 levels, M0 = No Mulch, M1 = Plastic Mulch, M2= Rice Straw Mulch, M3= Cocopeat Mulch, M4= Sawdust, M5 = Rice Husk Mulch. The results of this study indicated that the M2 treatment of rice straw mulch has a tendency to increase soil fertility and has significant effect on plant vegetative growth as production. Tillage was no significantly affect soil fertility and plant vegetative growth as production of sweet corn.
