Abstract

There has been an increase in cases of early marriage nationwide during the Covid-19 pandemic. Based on data from the Central Java DP3AP2KB, there were 11,301 cases of early childhood marriages for girls and 1,671 for boys. This also happened in Semarang Regency, Central Java, which was caused by the decline in the economic level of the community so that marrying underage children was considered as an alternative problem solving. For this reason, it is necessary to have an early marriage prevention program in the form of changing people's mindsets, especially mothers and children, which also provide solutions to the problems of early marriage. The program that is run as an effort to prevent early marriage is the Early Marriage Community Partnership Program (PKM) from Psychosocial, Cultural and Reproductive Health Perspectives. This is considered important because psychosocial, cultural problems and lack of understanding of reproductive health are the drivers of early marriage. Education for PKK mothers, youth and youth organizations has succeeded in increasing perceptions of the negative impact of early marriage. Education participants also made an agreement to jointly reduce the number of early marriages by involving youth in Karang Taruna activities.

Abstract

The community service activities focused on solving the problem of school dropouts in RW 10 RT 01 Cisurupan Village, Bandung City. The model chosen in this community service involves all segments of society. The methods and techniques used in this activity refer to community social work practices. The result of assessment showed that the problems faced by parents were the lack of knowledge about how to motivate children to learn. The intervention of this activity was carried out in the form of psychoeducation and learning assistance. The main purpose of psychoeducation is to provide understanding to parents on how to motivate children to learn. The result showed an increase in willingness and enthuasism for learning in children.

Abstract

The media industry will and will always develop from time to time. This makes people accustomed to and adapting to digital technology. One of the sectors that are driven by the impetus of technological development is product marketing by utilizing digital platforms. Photography is an important point that cannot be separated from digital marketing activities. Where the product to be marketed will be designed in such a way, then immortalized in a photo so that the product looks more aesthetic and attracts customers. Community service carried out aims to provide education and assistance to create marketing communication strategies through Photo Production as a Visual Communication Activity for West Java UMKM in digital media to target communities for community service programs for the period 1 of 2022. Members of UMKM fostered by the creative house of BUMN BRI Bandung are one of the UMKM that play a role in the Indonesian economy. Community service activities related to visual communication activities are a form of dedication from Telkom University Communication Science lecturers. Through Photo Production as a provision for community service in the realm of communication science with the Humanities and Media Studies expertise group. The result of this training activity is that the target community can display product photos that are used as digital marketing media.

Abstract

In learning English, speaking aspect has an important role when communicating. The development of children's language skills underlies the ability to read. Tthe more they read, the easier it will be for children to understand writing, and the more fluent their speaking skills will be. However, in developing their English speaking, children have difficulty because of the limited vocabulary. Heving difficulty in expressing ideas and lack of courage to speak because they are afraid of being wrong are factors that prevent children from speaking English well. In addition to the factors mentioned above, internal factors, such as the lack of seriousness of children in learning English itself as well as inadequate learning methods and lack of media are obstacles for children in learning English. This is felt by the children of TPA RT 004/RW 04 Pabuaran Tumpeng Tangerang. The low interest in reading in the environment where they live is the basis for the lack of development of language skills, especially English. Therefore, the Community Service team (PKM) Universitas Pamulang (UNPAM) offers a problem solution in the form of teaching English with the method of storytelling by using digital media with illustrated stories in English. From the results of the PKM activities at Taman Alquran Pabuaran Tumpeng with a series of activities, it seems that the children are happy, interested, and active. If proves that the use of storytelling method through pictures can improve children's English speaking skills.

Abstract

As a tourism place, Jodipan Colorful Village is not only visited by domestic tourists, but also foreign tourists. On the one hand, the English language skills of teenagers around Kampung Warna-wani Jodipan are still very limited. Most teenagers there also tend to feel insecure when it comes to interacting with foreign tourists. In response to this, the service staff conducted an English for Tourism Training for six days to ten youths in Colorful Village. Service activities consist of psychoeducation to increase self-confidence and English for tourism training to improve English language skills in tourist areas. The results of the evaluation showed an increase in both self-confidence and English language skills in service participants.
