Abstract

The stabilizer applied to sweet orange juice has properties as a clarifying agent, one of which is gelatin. Gelatin can be derived from collagen tissue of skin and bones animal, one of which is milkfish bone because fish contains high collagen. The effect of the clarifying agent on gelatin has an impact on sweet orange juice such as the degree of acidity, viscosity value and the level of consumer preference. This study aims to determine the values of pH, viscosity and hedonic for sweet orange juice with the addition of milkfish bone gelatin. The design of this study used completely randomized design with 5 treatments and 4 replications. The treatment given was the addition of milkfish bone gelatin to sweet orange juice, which was 0%; 0.2%; 0.4%; 0.6% and 0.8%. The data analysis method was carried out using the application of SPSS for windows 20.0. The results showed that the pH value was 4.695 to 4.733; viscosity value was 4.28 to 5.72 cP and hedonic scores 5 to 6 are obtained like to like very much. The best treatment in this study was the addition of 0.2% milkfish bone gelatin because it produced more efficient pH, viscosity and hedonic values.

Abstract

Land degradation in the rice field is caused by the continuous use of synthetic agrochemicals and low input of organic fertilizers. Assistance and training for farmers are needed to utilize organic fertilizers as additional inputs in cultivation practices. Liquid organic fertilizer (LOB) can be a solution because the making process and application are easier. This dissemination aims to provide knowledge and practice of making LOB from local biological resources such as bamboo roots. The target of the activity are farmers in Srigading, Labuhan Maringgai, East Lampung. The activity was carried out using explanation method and the practice of making LOB from bamboo roots. This activity is carried out for 6 months covering surveys, preparation, delivering materials, practices, and monitoring. The activity was held on August 7, 2021 at the residence of Mr. Tugimin, with a total of 13 participants. The presentation of the material included the importance of soil organic matter for soil health, explanation about LOB, and continued the practice of making LOB. Based on the results of the pretest, the knowledge of farmers about negative impact of using synthetic agrochemicals and the importance of organic matter is still low, so that the explanation can increase farmers' knowledge as indicated by the posttest is increasing from 20% to 86%. Monitoring result showed that the LOB made has been successful with the characteristics like tape smell, but it is still not yet optimal. Farmers also expect follow-up activities for innovation on other organic fertilizers and biofertilizers.

Abstract

Lifestyle is one of the factors that influence consumer behavior. The increase in spending on the consumption of food and beverage in Indonesia shows changes in people's lifestyles, including college students who like eating out. Food consumption is closely related to the eating mindset and preferences of someone. This study aims to analyze college students’ preferences of foods and beverages; analyze the student's eating mindset and analyze the correlation between college students’ eating mindset and preferences of foods and beverages in Bandar Lampung City. This research used a survey method. The data was collected from May to July 2020 (the Covid-19 pandemic period). The sampling technique used was quota sampling and the number of samples was 500 college students in Bandar Lampung City. The primary data collection was carried out using an online questionnaire. The data were analyzed by descriptive statistics and Kendall's Tau correlation test. The results showed that: (1) college students' preference of beverages was higher than foods and based on the variety, the highest preference of main course/meal was noodles, the snack was pempek and beverages were bottled mineral water; (2) the college student's eating mindset about the benefits of eating is good enough, but the consumption is still rice oriented and (3) eating mindset about the benefits of eating dimensions has a significant negative effect on the preferences of college students in Bandar Lampung City for meals made from rice and flour, and snacks made from flour and sago. College students' knowledge of food and nutrition, and also local food diversification needs to be improved to achieve the goal of food diversification.

Abstract

Overnutrition in adolescents is a nutritional state that exceeds normal limits for a long time marked by excess body weight, this is closely related to behavioral factors such as diet and lifestyle. The impact of excess nutrition is type 2 diabetes mellitus, hypertension, coronary heart disease, cancer. Alternative efforts to deal with overnutrition in adolescents require a national strategy related to diet and physical activity. The purpose of this study was to analyze the relationship between diet, physical activity, consumption of fast food on overnutrition in adolescents. The method used is the literature review study of journal articles that meet the inclusion and exclusion requirements in the search database using google scholar, crossref, Indonesia one search and the Garuda portal using the keywords: diet, physical activity and consumption of fast food on Overnutrition in adolescents. The results of the study were as many as 13 articles studied, the condition of eating patterns in adolescents who experienced nutrition were more likely to choose foods with high energy content (meatballs, batagor, bread and carbonated drinks) with a frequency of 4 to 7 times a day and in large quantities (energy adequacy level 130% RDA/ Recommended Dietary Allowance) with physical activity included in the light category (watching TV or doing sports < 3 times per week). Undernourished adolescents are more likely to frequently (> 3 times per week) consume fast food. The conclusion is that there is a significant relationship between diet, physical activity and consumption of fast food on overnutrition in adolescents.

Abstract

Rice is the main food commodity in Indonesia. The main factor affecting rice productivity is soil fertility. This study aims to determine the soil fertility status of paddy fields in the Bantul Regency. The research was conducted by surveying soil characteristics supported by laboratory analysis. The survey area consists of 4 Land Map Units (LMU) which are made based on the type of soil, where for each LMU 3 soil sampling points are taken. Soil fertility status is represented by Soil Fertility Index (SFI). The results showed that the SFI in Bantul Regency was moderate (0.72). SFI in LMU-1 is moderate (0.70), LMU-2 is moderate (0.71), LMU-3 is high (0.83) and LMU-4 is moderate (0.64). Significant indicators that were positively correlated with SFI were organic C, total N and available K. The management of paddy fields is based on factors related to SFI. The recommended land management for increasing soil fertility is the addition of organic matter in the form of Azolla which can increase the total N and organic C of the soil as well as the application of manure. Proper management of paddy fields can maintain soil fertility and sustainable rice productivity.

Abstract

Business Registration Number (BRN) is the identity of business actors in the context of carrying out business activities according to their business fields. NIB is important for business actors to take care of matters regarding business licensing. One of the purposes of NIB ownership is to provide convenience in obtaining capital assistance and business development. Data mapping activities for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) and registration of Business Identification Numbers (NIB) were carried out in Tremes Village, District, Sidoharjo District, Wonogiri Regency. The low NIB ownership of business actors in Tremes Village, while the high number of MSMEs encourages this activity. Activities are carried out by 1) socialization; 2) data input training using https://oss.go.id in direct partnership with the Investment and One Stop Service Office; 3) distribution and collection of forms; 4) data input and issuance of Business Registration Number (BRN) and; 5) submission of the Business Registration Number (BRN) to the public. This activity aims to map data and help manage micro, small and medium enterprises. Mapping of MSMEs data in Tremes Village makes it easier for the village government to get MSMEs data and facilitates the process of distributing MSMEs assistance on target. The total number of MSMEs that have been recorded in Tremes Village is 459 businesses. There were 454 BRNs (99.34%) of the 457 MSMEs that registered. Follow-up from the issuance of the BRN in Tremes Village was the submission of Productive Micro Business Assistance to the Office of Cooperatives, Small Medium Enterprises, Industry and Trade, Wonogiri Regency.

Abstract

Primary dysmenorrhea is menstrual pain since menarche, there are no abnormalities in the uterus. Family history is a risk factor for primary dysmenorrhea. Physical activity and a good diet of women have the possibility to prevent it happening. This study aims to analyze the relationship between family history, physical activity and diet with the incidence of primary dysmenorrhea in women. This research is an analytic observational study with a cross-sectional approach. Sampling was done by the accidental non-probability sampling method. Data collection was taken based on respondents' answers to online questionnaires. The measuring tool used is the google form. 58.0% of respondents had a family history of primary dysmenorrhea, 91.6% of respondents did not have sufficient physical activity and 95.5% did not have a good diet. The results of the Chi-square test showed that family history had a significant relationship with the incidence of primary dysmenorrhea with a p-value of 0.000 < 0.05. Physical activity and diet did not have a relationship with the incidence of primary dysmenorrhea (p-value 0.285 and p-value 0.419). Generally, respondents in this study have a poor diet and physical activity, so this affects the results of the analysis. To get a more adequate answer, it is necessary to conduct research with a good diet and physical activity intervention design for dysmenorrhea respondents.

Abstract

Sarisa Merapi is a small and medium-sized micro enterprise (MSME) engaged in food processing such as telang lemon tea, candied salak, dodol salak, sari salak and egg roll. Among these products, telang lemon tea became the choice in this study because of the large number of productions and the relatively low price. In addition, telang lemon tea has health benefits because it contains antioxidants and can be used as a substitute drink for tea. The quality of telang lemon tea is determined by the quality of raw materials, the application of sanitation and hygiene in the production process. But in reality, it is less noticed by business owners. The purpose of this practice is to observe quality control, application of sanitation and hygiene in the production process of telang lemon tea in Sarisa Merapi MSME. The method of data collection is carried out by observation, interviews with staff and employees, documentation and literature studies focused on the process of preparing raw materials, processing, packaging and application of sanitation and hygiene on the production of lemon tea in Sarisa Merapi MSMEs. The process of processing telang lemon tea has three stages, namely the procurement of raw materials, the manufacture of intermediate products and the final product. The results showed that the application of quality control, sanitation and hygiene were quite well performed in the procurement of raw materials, the manufacture of intermediate products, the final product process, packaging and storage. However, in the application of sanitation and hygiene, there were still some problems such as workers did not routinely wear aprons and masks during the production process, the absence of barriers between production rooms. Therefore, Sarisa Merapi needs to pay more attention and evaluate these problems.
