Abstract

This research is focusing on the development of metaheuristic algorithm to solve Dynamic Vehicle Routing Problem With Time Windows (DVRPTW) for the service provider of Inter-city Courier. The algorithm is divided into two stages which is static stage and dynamic stage. In the static stage, modified Ant Colony System is developed and in the dynamic stage, Insertion Heuristic is developed. In DVRPTW, vehicle’s routes are raised dynamically based on real time information, for example the reception of new order. To test the performances of the developed metaheuristic algorithm, the author compares the developed algorithm with the nearest neighbor algorithm and with the combination between the nearest neighbor and insertion heuristics algorithm. Experiment is done using Chen’s standard data test. The developed metaheuristic algorithm was applied on the network data of the roads in Surabaya, where the routes generated not only determine the order that the consumer must visit but also determine the routes that must be passed. After the experiment, the author conclude that the developed algorithm generates a better travel time total than the nearest neighbor and the combination between the nearest neighbor and insertion heuristics and can also generate route dynamically to respond to the new order well. Keywords: Inter-City Courier, Dynamic Vehicle Routing Problem dengan Time Window (DVRPTW), Ant Colony System, Insertion Heuristics

Abstract

This study deals with an effort to reduce inrush current of single phase transformer during its energizing. Inrush current affected by residual flux was minimized using demagnetization method in order to reduce residual flux trapped in the core of transformer. Two methods of demagnetization namely variable frequency-constant voltage (VFCV) and variable voltage–constant frequency (VVCF) were applied and the effectiveness of both methods were then compared. Both methods were supplied with alternated direct current (DC), however the one was changed its frequency and the other one was changed its voltage. The results obtained after transformer was demagnetized using these methods show that VFCV method educed inrush current up to 76%, on the other hand VVCF ethod reduced inrush current only up to 37%. Moreover, demagnetization time process of VFCV method was about 1.46 s, which is 1 s faster than VVCF method.Keywords: demagnetization; inrush current; variable voltage-constant frequency; variable frequency-constant voltage

Abstract

Wireless ad-hoc mesh network is a special kind of network, where all of the nodes move in time. Node is intended to help relaying packets of neighboring nodes using multi-hop routing mechanism in order to solve problem of dead communication. Wireless mesh network which engages broadcasting and contains multiple hops become increasingly vulnerable to problems such as routing problem and rapid increasing of overhead packets. During this progress, the delay on account of multi hop characteristics and redundant packets caused by communication nature potentially existed during communication. Typically, delay will increase in linearity with number of hops. There is a certain minimum level of delay that will be experienced due to the time it takes to transmit a packet through a link. Topology development holds a significant point prior to the data transmission. Without improved topology development protocol, this problem can decrease network’s performance in overall data transmission. We analyze the delay performance of a multi-hop wireless network with a dynamic route between each source and final destination pair. There are fluctuate interference constraints on the set of links that impose a fundamental delay performance of any instant network topology. At first, we present a similar Link State Routing network simulation to derive such referential lower bounds. We conduct extensive simulation studies to suggest that the average delay of multi-hop transmission policy can be made lower compared to the referential bound by using appropriate functions of network metrics. This paper provides a broadcast framework that engages various network metrics and at the same time maintaining connectivity of nodes (mobile terminals). The framework captures the essential features of the wireless network metrics, i.e. bandwidth, throughput, network buffer, direction, and round trip time. This research is useful since, in many cases, it find that the throughput is the most important parameter in reduction of delay transmission. This result is confirmed with another composite simulation result. Most of network hop delay is impacted with this composite metric, particularly in delay minimization on the longer hops. The reduction achievement on average delay by this algorithm is 0.577% and the total average delay reduction for this simulated network is 0.683%. This research will be further designed primarily for achieving maximum throughput in the multiple wireless network area. Keywords: multi-hop; delay; connectivity; metrics

Abstract

Traditional counter based digital Pulse Width Modulator (PWM) has been a straightforward architecture. However, realization of multichannel PWM with such design requires considerable logic gates. A novel architecture of multichannel PWM based on the usage of RAM block and frequency word accumulator is proposed. This architecture is capable of producing numerous channels while maintaining its performance. The design was tested in Microsemi SmartFusion A2F200 Customizable System on Chip, giving the result of 7.73% FPGA usage to produce 48 channels of 380Hz 16 bits PWM. The output performance for test application is acceptable. Keywords: PWM; RAM; accumulator; multichannel; digital

Abstract

This paper deals with ferroresonance detection on an transmission line utilizing wavelet transform. The ferroresonance involving linear capacitor and non-linear inductor was triggered by the disturbances of power system, such as lightning strike, switching operation and ground fault. The primary voltage of capacitive voltage divider (CVT) was observed as response of the triggered ferroresonance. The voltage signal was processed using wavelet daubechies (db5) until 9 levels. The cyclic cumulative energy for each condition was then calculated and compared. The result shows that the cyclic cumulative energy ratio and duration of period of cumulative energy deviation can be used as ferroresonance detection parameters.Keywords: ferroresonance; capacitive voltage divider, wavelet transform

Abstract

There are two types of distributed solar power generation system stand-alone system and grid-connected system. In grid-connected system usually are equiped with additional transformer to transfer the energy from solar power to the grid. However, it has resulted in considerable cost in providing these systems. Therefore in this reserach develops boost transformerless inverter system. The proposed system consists of a boost converter and transformerless inverter. Boost converter is used to increse the dc voltage yield by photovoltaic (PV) and delivered to the grid by mean of  transformerless inverter.In order to maximize the power from PV, the proposed system is also designed with Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) by changing the value of modulation index in the transformerless inverters. From the simulation results show that the system can work effectively in a variety conditions such as light intensity changed and fluctuating in the grid  voltage side. Keywords: Inverter Transformerless, Boost Converter, MPPT, Photovoltaic.

Abstract

Hierarchical Healthcare Referral System (HHRS) is implemented by National Insurance Providing Agency (BPJS) as part of the healthcare insurance policies. Patients who want to get health insurance in a hospital should get a referral from the community health center in which they are registered. Congestion of patients happens in certain hospital as there is no policy implemented to govern the referral system. In this paper, HHRS is modeled as a network of queuing system and is analyzed for its queue performances. Analysis of queuing network performances shows the influence patient preferences to buildup congestion of patients in hospitals. Referral is then controlled by means of dynamic routing with considering patient preferences. Estimation of arrival rate is done with hypercube queuing theory which concerns user preference. Simulation shows that patient preferences affect the arrival rate at each hospital, the application of dynamic routing can reduce the maximum utility and reduce the average waiting time, prioritization of patients improve dynamic routing performance on systems with a high workload.Keywords: dynamic routing; hierarchical healthcare referral system; patient priority; queueing networks;
