Abstract

Penelitian ini mengidentifikasi ketertarikan siswa sekolah dasar siswa kelas dua di Sekolah Dasar Negeri Anyelir 1 Depok Baru, Kota Depok, Jawa Barat terhadap bahan bacaan. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kuantitatif dengan metode deskriptif. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah survei. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa siswa kelas 2 SDN Anyelir 1 Depok Baru memiliki ketertarikan sendiri terhadap bahan bacaan. Genre bacaan yang mereka sukai meliputi kisah-kisah agama hingga cerita fiksi berbentuk komik dan novel pendek. Hasil temuan memberikan saran bahwa orang tua perlu mengenalkan variasi bacaan lain seperti koran dan memberikan pendampingan kepada anak dalam membaca komik.

Abstract

The archive records the truth of a fact or activity of an institution, whether it is an activity that is being done or has happened at a previous time. Therefore, archives must be well organized in order to remain systematic and sustainable. This paper describes how static archive management at Balai Arsip and Tsunami Aceh. The management of the archives at Balai Arsip dan Tsunami Aceh refers to the Regulations of the Archive of the Republic of Indonesia (ANRI), which is responsible for acquisition, processing, preserving and archiving services to the public. In practice, archive management has constraints that are limited storage space and human resources.

Abstract

Penelitian ini mendiskusikan perilaku pencarian Informasi mahasiswa program sarjana di Fakultas Ilmu Pengetahuan Budaya Universitas Indonesia (FIB UI) terkait dengan proses pembelajaran di perguruan tinggi serta mengevaluasi pemanfaatan sumber-sumber literatur elektronik yang telah dilanggan oleh Perpustakaan UI. Penelitian ini mengadaptasi model perilaku pencarian informasi oleh Ellis, Cox dan Hall (Behavioral Model of Information Seeking Strategies) yang kemudian diadaptasi oleh Wilson (a model of the Gross-Information Seeking Strategies) untuk menganalisis dan memberikan gambaran perilaku pencarian informasi mahasiswa dalam menunjang proses pembelajaran dan penelitiannya. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini melalui wawancara mendalam dan diskusi kelompok terarah (focus group discussion) terhadap 16 mahasiswa FIB UI. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa mahasiswa membutuhkan informasi dari sumber elektronik untuk kegiatan akademis seperti pembuatan tugas. Terdapat kelompok mahasiswa yang mahir dalam identifikasi keunikan sumber informasi elektronik yang dilanggan oleh Perpustakaan UI dalam memenuhi kebutuhan informasinya. Namun, terdapat pula hambatan yang menyebabkan kurang maksimalnya pemanfaatan sumber informasi elektronik yang dilanggan Perpustakaan UI, antara lain: kurangnya sosialisasi dan promosi, kurangnya integrasi dengan kegiatan perkuliahan, kurangnya dorongan dari dosen, serta permasalahan individu lainnya. Terdapat beberapa saran yang diajukan dalam penelitian ini berkaitan dengan hambatan pencarian informasi, seperti perpustakaan yang lebih proaktif dalam promosi dan sosialisasi di acara mahasiswa, pengajar yang lebih mengarahkan mahasiswanya dalam menggunakan sumber informasi elektronik yang dilanggan oleh Perpustakaan UI, dan perlunya perkuliahan yang mengarahkan mahasiswa dalam strategi penelusuran informasi.

Abstract

This article analyzes the process of making Sistem Informasi Desa (SID) based on community established in Terong Village, Dlingo, Bantul district, Yogyakarta. This program is known as the basic administrative system that has compiled the system based on the potential and the needs of society to access public (services). This study uses qualitative research methods. Data are collected through observation, interviews and literature review. Meanwhile, the data analysis carried out through, (1) data reduction, (2) data presentation, and (3) conclusion/verification. The data triangulation technique is used in validation phase in order to make the results are credible. The results showed that the Sistem Informasi Desa (SID) has a significant impact to community in Terong Village. It can not be separated from the capital owned by the citizen due to it has grown well after getting workshop, direction and training from COMBINE Resource Institution. However, the management of SID is not considered maximal because it has not been developed according to current SID development in other regions. The effort to improve the system and the administrative data needs to be done continuously to develop SID. It is in accordance to the development of the village both in social and economic-cultural (aspect). Human resource development as SID program manager must also be able to develop SID features based on community information necessity.

Abstract

Library is a place to store book or non-books collections that can be used to research, read, and learn. At Bina Nusantara University, Anggrek campus, the library is also a space for discussion and sharing knowledge to each other.  The spaces are large and includes large collection of books, causing considerable obstacles in the library of Bina Nusantara University Kampus Anggrek. This is because the important information for visitors has not been processed maximally. An open space at the library can be put with design information about the system of borrowing and returning books, also the other main services. We always see many signs in the street such as road sign, the rules in somewhere, or infographics of some directions. They are some example of information design. The library ofcourse can use that too to help the visitor in the library. For this research, we use the qualitative approach and the descriptive method by doing some observation in the library and some interview to students who visit the library, and also the Visual Communication Design lecture. So this research will discuss what are the information designs in the Library of Bina Nusantara University, Anggrek Campus and why the design of information is important.

Abstract

The development of information and the rapidly growing digital world have affected all aspects of life, including the public service sector. To make public services more accessible to the community, the Indonesian government has implemented LAPOR!, an e-government application. Citizens can use LAPOR! to submit concerns or complaints regarding public services to the government. The present qualitative study examined the use of LAPOR! as a tool for delivering information to the Indonesian government, using a review of relevant literature and secondary data. The study explores how LAPOR! functions, what features are provided, how citizens have responded to the availability of this tool, and how LAPOR! has served as a form of e-government that promotes good governance. LAPOR! has been used by 80 government agencies and five local governments. It fulfills both top-down and bottom-up management principles through an integrated system based in the central government that disseminates reports on complaints and investigations to related institutions, local governments, and citizens. Surveys have found that LAPOR! is generally viewed as effective and reliable, with 70% of users indicating that they would continue to submit concerns through this system.

Abstract

Why study green libraries? We know that as of 2007, paper and paperboard makes up 33% of total municipal solid waste recycling. This suggests that libraries contribute to this figure as libraries’ collections and operational materials are made up of paper. Through a literature review and a case study, this paper will examine how to create a management system for a green library. This system is implemented as a Green library at the Kasetsart University Library. This paper will apply its results to the STIE Perbanas Surabaya Library as the next site for the implementation of a green library. In order for library services to survive, libraries must change their management to address the issue of global warming, create interest and delight in libraries on the part of borrowers and enable emerging librarians to foster an entrepreneurial spirit.
