Abstract

Research with this quasi-experimental method aims to determine the influence of collaborative learning models of Mood, Understand, Recall, Detect, Elaborate, and Review (MURDER) on the cognitive abilities and motivational learning of learners. The instrument used to measure the cognitive abilities in the form of written tests refers to the Bloom's taxonomy, while the instrument for measuring learning motivation are motivation questionnaires. Learning cognitive ability data in the form of increase in Pretest and Posttest i.e. the normalization Gain (N-Gain) tested statistically using Wilcoxon test. Wilcoxon test results at a significance level α = 0.05 with 95% confidence level indicates calculated W of 0, while the table W (0.05) (30) amounted to 137. It can be concluded that Ho is rejected meaning that the cognitive abilities in the experiment class and the control class differ significantly. Analysis of learning motivation data was taken from a questionnaire with a Likert scale 1-4. The results of the t test calculation at the significance level α = 0.05 95% confidence level showed calculated t of 0.75, and table t (0.975) (59) of 2,001. Because the t 0.975 (59) < t < t 0.975 (59), it can be concluded that Ho is accepted meaning there is no significant difference in students' learning motivation in the experimental class and the control class. In this study the MURDER collaborative learning model has an effect on cognitive ability, but does not affect learning motivation of students.

Abstract

Learning outcomes, especially cognitive abilities of students are generally still low with a variety of learning models in schools that are still limited. Various models and learning approaches have been tried but the results have not been satisfactory. This study aims to obtain information about the effect of applying the Advance Organizer learning model to the learning outcomes of high school students. This type of research is quasi-experimental with pre-test post-test control group design. The population in this study were high school class X students with a sample of 2 classes. Sampling using a purposive sampling technique. Research instruments in the form of cognitive test questions refer to the revised Bloom's taxonomy. T test results at a significance level of 0.05, indicating that t = 2.56 is greater than t table = 1.99 so that H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted, meaning that there are significant differences in cognitive abilities in the experimental class and the control class. Based on the analysis of differences in the average score of learning outcomes shows that the application of the Advance Organizer learning model has a significant effect on student learning outcomes at each indicator and at every cognitive level.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of contextual learning models based on hands-on activities on students' psychomotor abilities. This type of research is a quasi-experimental using pretest posttest control group design. The results showed the psychomotor ability of students in the experimental class averaged 79.63 which was categorized as "good" while the control class obtained an average of 68.93 which was also categorized as "good". Hypothesis testing using t test shows the results of tcount = 4.73 while the t table = 2.002 so that H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted. This means that there is a significant difference between learning using hands-on contextual learning models compared to contextual learning models based on conventional practicum student psychomotor abilities. The results of the correlation coefficient test, the experimental class got the value of rxy = 0.9965 and the contribution was 99.30% while the control class was rxy = 0.987 and the contribution was 97.42% with the value of r (0.05) (30) = 0.361. Thus rcount> rtable which means that there is a very strong relationship between psychomotor abilities and cognitive knowledge on water pollution material based on the interpretation coefficient interpretation table in the two classes.
