Abstract

This research study developed Computer-Aided Strategic Intervention Materials (CA-SIM) in Chemistry 7 to promote students’ academic performance in science. The study aimed to answer four specific questions related to the format, steps in development, acceptability, and attitudes towards the CA-SIM. The study used a descriptive-developmental design and employed survey questionnaires and evaluation checklists for experts and students as research instruments. The data revealed that the CA-SIM is highly acceptable and satisfying for both teachers and students, with a rating of 2.57. The CA-SIM has ten lessons based on the competencies given by the new curriculum and follows the ADDIE model. The study concludes that the CA-SIM is a modern and effective way to teach Chemistry 7, making teaching and learning easier and more enjoyable. It is recommended that teachers can modify the CA-SIM based on the learners’ needs and contextualize the materials. The study provides a useful reference for other schools and teachers who teach Chemistry.

Abstract

This study investigates the causal relationship between Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) and Financial Development during the period 1990-2020 in Tanzania. The study aims to shed light on whether FDI inflows have a significant impact on the financial development of the country and vice versa. The analysis employs time series data including GDP, Inflation rate, Formation (capital and Investment), Trade Openness, Country Population size, and Financial Development, to explore the causal links. Using the Granger causality test, the study finds no evidence of causality between FDI and Financial Development, indicating that FDI inflows do not significantly predict changes in financial development, and vice versa. Similarly, the study does not find significant causality between FDI and other control variables such as GDP, Inflation, Formation, and Country Population size. However, there is a significant bi-directional relationship between FDI and Trade Openness, indicating complementarity between FDI and international trade. The results imply that FDI inflows might not be the sole determinant of financial development or other macroeconomic indicators. Policymakers should not solely rely on FDI as a solution to enhance financial development but should focus on creating a conducive environment for FDI and supporting measures that foster financial development independently. The study recommends that policymakers should prioritize strengthening institutions and regulatory frameworks to attract and retain FDI effectively. They should also promote trade liberalization and enhance the domestic financial system to stimulate both FDI inflows and domestic investment.

Abstract

Tissue culture seedlings have been used to improve production in agriculture. However, tissue culture suffers from low adoption. In this context, adoption studies in Tanzania of these types of seedlings are scarce and in general, do not jointly account for the judgment factors affecting the adoption decision among banana farmers. This study investigates the Influence of Complexity on Adoption. Farm-level data were collected through a questionnaire administered to 350 banana farmers in Kilimanjaro. Binary logistic was used to analyse the data and the results show the easier-to-grow significantly increased adoption. The findings of this study propose that; future information on seedlings technology must demonstrate an advantage over traditional seedlings and the investigation evidence supporting seedlings innovation must be clearly visible. We, therefore, concluded that the innovation adoption process has a social and complex element; it requires adequate extension of Information systems and negotiations with key stakeholders in the whole value chain.

Abstract

Self-efficacy is commonly conceptualised as being contingent upon a particular domain of endeavour. The appropriate understanding of self-efficacy relies heavily on the precise specification of its scope. When the scope of the domain is either excessively broad or excessively narrow, the accuracy of self-efficacy diminishes or it may lose its importance. Furthermore, the concept of a domain inherently requires the existence of sophisticated regulatory mechanisms, so rendering the mastery of rudimentary and repetitive tasks, such as the process of tying shoelaces, devoid of significance. Three interrelated domains were discovered, namely efficacy for classroom management, efficacy for student engagement, and efficacy for instructional methodologies

Abstract

A Notary in Indonesia is a public official appointed by the Minister of Law and Human Rights of the Republic of Indonesia. Its function is crucial in ensuring certainty, order, and legal protection in the realm of civil law. In carrying out their duties, a notary is obliged to maintain the integrity and dignity of their profession by avoiding violations stipulated in the Notary Office Law and Code of Ethics. Administrative sanctions can be imposed on a notary who violates the rules, such as written warnings, temporary suspension, honorable discharge, and dishonorable discharge. Finally, dishonorable discharge can be applied when a notary faces the threat of imprisonment for five years or more. However, if the threat of imprisonment is less than five years, the notary still has the opportunity to resume their profession after serving the sentence. The issue arises when the Notary Office Law does not provide clear provisions regarding the imposition of penalties if a notary faces a criminal threat of less than five years more than once. This situation creates a legal norm vacuum and ambiguity in the role of the Notary Supervisory Board in determining sanctions against notaries who commit such violations.

Abstract

Housing development is an effort to meet one of the basic human needs, as well as to improve the quality of the living environment, give direction to regional growth, expand employment and drive economic activities in improving and equitable distribution of people's welfare. The construction of flats is one alternative solution to the problem of housing and settlement needs, especially areas in urban areas where the population continues to increase, because the construction of flats can reduce land use, make urban open spaces more spacious and can be used as a way to rejuvenate the city for slums. Arrangements related to the construction of flats were initially regulated in the Flats Law, one of which regulated the ratification of flats. The Job Creation Law through its omnibus law model amends several provisions including those related to flats, including through implementing regulations. In this paper using normative juridical research methods, the author will compare the arrangement for the ratification of flats before and after the promulgation of the Job Creation Law and explore potential juridical problems.

Abstract

In line with the progress of the global economy, especially in Indonesia, it is recognized that a digitalization and modernization era has taken place, which continues to evolve and never ceases. This necessitates cooperatives to strengthen themselves to be healthier, self-reliant, modern, strong, and competitive, in accordance with cooperative principles, enabling them to play a role as a "pillar of the national economy." In April 2022, the Minister of Cooperatives and Small and Medium Enterprises Regulation on Cooperatives with a Multi-Party Model Number 8 of 2021, hereinafter referred to as "Permenkop UKM KMP," came into effect on October 21, 2021. In other countries, the Multi-Party Model Cooperatives, referred to as "KMP," have been commonly used for various business purposes. For example, they have been established in the United Kingdom since 1870, in the United States since the 1990s, in Italy since 1991, in Canada since 1997, in Portugal since 1998, and in France since 2001. Firdaus Putra, the Chairman of the Indonesian Consortium For Cooperative Innovation (ICCI), mentioned in a webinar on the dissemination of Minister of Cooperatives and SMEs Regulation No. 8 of 2021 concerning Multi-Party Model Cooperatives, that Italy is the best-practice example of KMP globally, with approximately 14,000 KMPs as of today. However, with the issuance of Permenkop UKM KMP in Indonesia, the history of Permenkop UKM KMP began only in 2022, making it a relatively new terminology in Indonesia. The issuance of Minister of Cooperatives and SMEs Regulation Number 8 of 2021 on Cooperatives with a Multi-Party Model raises several questions about the reasons behind the introduction of this new regulation. For instance, is the regulation solely implemented as a UUCK (Job Creation Law) enforcement measure, given the mention of the need for cooperatives to support job creation, even though it is not explicitly explained which type of cooperatives are referred to in the UUCK.

Abstract

This study conducts a comprehensive examination of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Indonesia, focusing on their role in the economy, challenges in innovation, sustainability, and digital transformation. With over 97% of the local labor force employed by MSMEs, their significance is undeniable. However, obstacles, exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic, include a financing gap, innovation difficulties, and limited resources hindering digitalization. The research, based on a sample of 250 MSMEs, utilizes Partial Least Square-Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) to reveal the positive and significant impact of innovation, sustainability, and digital transformation on MSME entrepreneurship. Practical implications suggest prioritizing innovation, integrating sustainable practices, and recognizing the importance of digitalization for MSMEs' success, with broader implications for socio-economic and environmental goals.

Abstract

This research explores the influence of sustainable leadership, social factors, and technological infrastructure on the sustainability of Micro, Small, and Medium-sized Enterprises (MSMEs) in the modern era. The study employs a mixed-methods approach, combining qualitative and quantitative methods. The sample includes MSMEs from various industries, and data is collected through surveys, interviews, and archival sources. The analysis involves Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) for quantitative data and systematic interpretation for qualitative data. The results indicate a positive and significant relationship between sustainable leadership, social factors, technological infrastructure, and business sustainability. Sustainable leadership is found to enhance organizational resilience and performance. Social factors, including community engagement and corporate social responsibility, contribute to brand loyalty and long-term viability. Technological infrastructure, encompassing advanced technologies, improves operational efficiency and fosters innovation. The study has implications for leadership development, stakeholder engagement, technological adoption, and policy considerations. Limitations include contextual specificity and the need for refined measurement instruments. Future research could explore different industries, longitudinal trends, and causal relationships.
