Abstract

Personal protective equipment (PPE) is the final effort in controlling hazard risks in health laboratories. The use of PPE is carried out by hospitals accompanied by standard operating procedures (SOPs) on how to use them. The compliance of laboratory officers in applying SOPs for the use of PPE is influenced by internal and external factors. The study was conducted to see the compliance of laboratory workers at Santa Maria Hospital Pekanbaru in implementing SOPs for the use of PPE during work. This type of research is descriptive using cross sectional method with a sample of 34 laboratory workers of Santa Maria Hospital Pekanbaru.. The results showed that the working period (p = 0.353), knowledge (p = 0.516) and attitude (p = 0.094) of laboratory workers did not affect the compliance with the use of PPE according to the SOP. On the other hand, understanding of SOPs and supervision of the use of PPE has a significant effect on the compliance of laboratory personnel in using PPE according to SOPs (p = 0.006)

Abstract

Malaria is an infectious disease caused by parasites (protozoa) derived from the genus plasmodium which is transmitted through the bite of the Anopheles mosquito. Malaria is transmitted through sufferers to healthy people by the Anopheles mosquito. Transmission of malaria between humans is carried out by female mosquitoes of the genus Anopheles. One of the prevention of the spread of malaria is by controlling the larvae of the Anopheles mosquito, the control can be done by using Repellent . The purpose of this study is to find out the potential of distance fencing essential oil lotion (Jatropha Curcas L) can be as a natural insecticide repellent (repellent) against mosquitoes Anopheles. This research was conducted using exprimental laboratory method with research design focus to know the effect of antinyamuk lotion antinyamuk oil distance fencing (Jatropha Curcas L) as repellent against mosquitoes Anopheles. Based on research obtained on the concentration of 20% of mosquitoes that stay away as much as 7 heads (70%) for 5 minutes, the concentration of 25% of mosquitoes that stay away as much as 8 heads (80%) for 5 minutes, and at a concentration of 30% of mosquitoes that stay away as much as 10 heads (100%) for 5 minutes. While the control (+) within 5 minutes mosquitoes away as many as 10 heads (100%) and control (-) no mosquitoes to stay away as much as 10 heads (0%). The results of this study can be concluded that the essential oil lotion distance fence (Jatropha Curcas L) the most effective as repellent at a concentration of 30% this extract is capable as a repellent and serves as a natural insecticide against mosquitoes Anopheles

Abstract

Nitrogen is part of the main building blocks of protein in the human body. Nitrogen is formed from the breakdown of protein by the body. In the body nitrogen is used as a raw material for the formation of amino acids. In general, the results of the body's metabolism will be excreted through the feces and some in the urine, one of which is nitrogen. With Ascaris lumbricoides infection, nitrogen metabolism will be disrupted, so that excess levels of a substance in the body will be excreted through urine and feces. Nitrogen levels in the body will be disturbed when the absorption of nutrients by the body is disturbed, one of the disturbances in nitrogen absorption is the occurrence of worm infections. The types of helminth infections that commonly occur are soil-transmitted helminths such as Ascaris lumbricoides worm infection. The purpose of this study was to determine the comparison of nitrogen levels in the feces of patients with Ascariasis infection and in normal feces. Nitrogen levels were tested by examining the nitrogen levels in the feces which contained Ascaris worm eggs in the stool specimen. The results showed that nitrogen levels in feces infected by worms included sample A nitrogen content of 0.19%, sample B obtained nitrogen content of 2.16%, and nitrogen content in sample C was 2.05% with an average of 1.46% while This nitrogen indicates that there is an increase in nitrogen levels in the body due to ascariasis infection in the body.

Abstract

Soil transmitted helminthes (STH) merupakan kelompok cacing yang dalam siklus hidupnya memerlukan tanah untuk berkembang menjadi bentuk yang infektif. Soil Transmitted Helminths (STH) yang paling sering menginfeksi manusia adalah Ascaris lumbricoides, Trichuris trichiura, Necator americanus dan Ancylostoma duodenale. Dampak yang disebabkan dari infeksi kecacingan yaitu menurunnya kondisi kesehatan, gizi, kecerdasan, dan produktivitas penderita. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui jenis telur cacing yang ditemukan pada sayur kubis yang dijual di Pasar Pusat dan Pasar Kodim Kota Pekanbaru. Teknik sampling yang digunakan dalam pengambilan sampel ini yaitu purposive sampling. Metode pemeriksaan yang digunakan adalah metode flotasi dengan menggunakan NaCl jenuh dan metode sedimentasi dengan menggunakan NaOH 0,2%. Hasil pemeriksaan menunjukkan bahwa dari 15 sampel kubis didapatkan 2 sampel positif atau sebesar 13,3%. Sampel (K1) positif ditemukan telur cacing Ascaris lumbricoides fertil pada metode flotasi, dan sampel (N1) positif ditemukan telur cacing Ascaris lumbricoides infertil pada metode sedimentasi.

Abstract

Makanan merupakan suatu hal yang menjadi kebutuhan pokok bagi manusia, Makanan mulai dari proses sampai siap dihidangkan dapat memungkinkan terjadinya pencemaran oleh mikroba. Jajanan makanan di sajikan di tempat yang terbuka sehingga menyebabkan makanan tidak sehat dan berbahaya untuk dikonsumsi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui ada tidaknya cemaran Escherichia coli pada jajanan makanan yang dijual dikantin SDN 165 dan SDN 176 kelurahan Tobek godang Kecamatan Tampan Pekanbaru dengan metode Eksperimen Laboratory. Pada 8 sampel jajanan makanan yang dibiakan pada media BHI broth terjadinya kekeruhan yang menandakan adanya pertumbuhan bakteri pada sampel. Hasil pertumbuhan koloni pada media EMB agar ditemukannya pertumbuhan koloni dengan ciri-ciri koloni ukuran sedang bewarna hijau metalik. Berdasarkan hasil reaksi biokimia dapat disimpulkan bahwa pada sampel makanan dari kantin SDN 165 yaitu bakso bakar, sosis, dan nuget ditemukannya cemaran Escherichia coli dengan persentase sebesar 75% sedangkan dari kantin SDN 176 yaitu bakso bakar, sosis, mie goreng ditemukannya cemaran Escherichia coli dengan persentase sebesar 75%.

Abstract

Kecacingan merupakan salah satu penyakit berbasis lingkungan yang masih menjadi masalah bagi kesehatan masyarakat di Indonesia hingga saat ini. Ascaris lumbricoides merupakan nematoda usus terbesar. Pada infeksi cacing kronis makrofag yang dikenal adalah Alternatively Activated Macrophage (AAM). Pada keadaan ini terjadi proliferasi dan diferensiasi sel Th0 menjadi Th1, Th2 dan T reg dengan subpopulasi Th2 tetap lebih dominan dibanding subpopulasi yang lain atau yang dikenal sebagai Modified Th2 respon. Sel Th2 akan memproduksi IL-4, IL-5 dan IL-10. IL-4 dan IL-10 berperan dalam switching antibody response dimana sel B yang sebelumnya memproduksi IgE menjadi memproduksi IgG4. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui hubungan jumlah telur cacing dengan kadar interleukin-10 pada orang dewasa yang terinfeksi Ascaris lumbricoides. Hasil penelitian didapatkan P value yaitu 0,000 artinya < 0,05 yang berarti terdapat korelasi dan nilai Pearson correlationnya adalah 0,975 atau 97,5% dimana korelasi tersebut dinyatakan berkorelasi sempurna dan signifikan. Berdasarkan penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa semakin banyak jumlah telur cacing, maka semakin tinggi kadar IL-10.

Abstract

Worm infection caused by the Soil Transmitted Helminth (STH) are one of health problem in indonesia, as in vegetable farmers. Worm that are transmitted through the Soil are Ascaris lumbricoides, Trichuris trichiura, and Hookworms (Necator americanus and Ancylostoma duodenale). The purpose of this study was to determine the presence or absence of Soil Transmitted Helminth (STH) egs in vegetable farmer of Kartama Pekanbaru. This study used a cross-sectional design with the sedimentation method. Microscopic observation of 27 sample showed that STH eggs were not found in both faeces and nails samples. The examination method used was sedimentation method the population in this study were farmers in Kartama Pekanbaru who did hot use gloves or footwear during gardering.

Abstract

Worm infection caused by the Soil Transmitted Helminth (STH) are still a health problem for the community, especially for vegetable farmers whose work is directly related to land. Worm whose development requires soil to be an infective form, namely the Soil Transmitted Helminth (STH). The types of Soil Transmitted Helminth (STH) worm are Ascaris lumbricoides, Trichuris trichiura, Ancylostoma duodenale and Necator americanus. The purpose of this study was to identify the STH eggs in stools of vegetable farmers at Kubang Raya Pekanbaru. The sampling technique used was quota sampling. The examination method used were with mount direct and sedimentation method. Based on microscopic examination of 6 faecal samples with the direct method, STH eggs were not found in all sample. Meanwhile in the observation with sedimentation method, 1 of 6 samples was found to be positive for hookworm eggs (sample GP).

Abstract

Ministry of Health Indonesia in 2006, helminthiasis is one of the endemic problems that can be found in various places in Indonesia. Worms are problem that mostly affects elementary school children due to personal hygiene and poor environmental sanitation. The purpose of this study was to determine the presence or absence of Soil Transmitted Helminth (STH) worm eggs in students of SDN 5 Dwitunggal Rangsang in Kepulauan Meranti. The research applied direct and sedimentation methods. Based on microscopic examination with sedimentation method, the results of the research indicated one positive sample of Trichuris trichiura out 27 samples studied.

Abstract

Proteinuria merupakan keadaan terdapatnya protein didalam urin (>150 mg) dalam 24 jam. Proteinuria mengindikasikan adanya kegagalan fungsi ginjal karena glomerulus dan tubulus distal ginjal tidak berfungsi dalam menyaring urine. Pemeriksaan protein urine konvensional secara umum dapat dilakukan dengan 2 metode yaitu metode carik celup dan asam asetat 6%. Berdasarkan hal tersebut maka dilakukan penelitian untuk membandingkan hasil pemeriksaan protein urine metode carik celup dan metode asam asetat 6%. Penelitian ini merupakan jenis penelitian non eksperimental dengan desain cross sectional dan teknik sampling menggunakan accidental sampling. Sampel yang digunakan adalah sampel urin yang berasal dari pasien proteinuria di Rumah sakit X Pekanbaru. Hasil penelitian yang dianalisis dengan uji t-tidak berpasangan diperoleh p > 0,05 artinya tidak ada perbedaan bermakna antara protein urine yang diperiksa dengan metode carik celup dan metode asam asetat 6%. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa pemeriksaan protein urine menggunakan metode carik celup dan asam asetat 6% dapat dilakukan di laboratorium untuk menegakkan hasil pemeriksaan.
