Abstract

Jajanan yang dijual di sekitar lingkungan menjadi kekhawatiran masyarakat khususnya orang tua siswa. Jajanan tersebut dikhawatirkan adanya penambahan zat makanan yang berbahaya, yaitu zat pengawet makanan. Salah satu zat pengawet makanan yang sering digunakan adalah natrium tetraborat. Natrium tetraborat lebih dikenal dengan nama boraks. Menurut Peraturan Menteri Kesehatan Republik Indonesia No. 1168/Menkes/Per/X/1999, boraks dinyatakan dilarang digunakan sebagai bahan tambahan makanan, tetapi masih banyak bentuk penyalahgunaan dari zat tersebut. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui kandungan boraks yang terdapat pada jajanan yang dijual sekitar SDN 18 dan 20 Kota Pekanbaru. Berdasarkan uji nyala yang telah dilakukan, dari 5 sampel terdapat 2 sampel yang positif mengandung boraks. Sampel positif boraks yaitu somai ikan dan martabak mini. Kandungan boraks pada sampel makanan somai ikan sebesar 2,2356 ppm. Kandungan boraks pada sampel makanan martabak mini sebesar 3,2272 ppm.

Abstract

Sodium nitrite usually used as a preservative agent in meat processed such as chicken crispy. Sodium nitrite used in meat processed because it can inhibit the growth of the bacteria Clostridium botalinum, retains the red color of the meat, and as a flavor enhancer. Excessive use of sodium nitrite can have harmful effects on health. This study aims to determine the sodium nitrite content of chicken crispy sold in Leles District, Garut Regency. The analytical method used is qualitative analysis using BaCl2 and AgNO3 reagents, while quantitative analysis using UV-Vis spectrophotometry at a wavelength of 520 nm. Samples came from 5 street vendors, so samples A, B, C, and E. The results showed that the five positive samples contained sodium nitrite with levels in sample A = 13.075 mg/kg, B = 6.52 mg/kg , C = 13,345 mg/kg, D = 15,705 mg/kg, and E = 21,61 mg/kg. The use of sodium nitrite in crispy chicken sold by street vendors in Leles District, Garut Regency, does not exceed the level permitted by the Food and Drug Agency, which is 30 mg/kg.

Abstract

Bahan tambahan makanan adalah bahan yang sengaja ditambahkan ke makanan dalam jumlah yang diketahui, dalam bentuk pewarna, pemanis dan lainlain. Salah satu pewarna yang sering digunakan sebagai tambahan makanan adalah Rhodamin B. Rhodamin B adalah pewarna yang digunakan dalam industri tekstil dan dilarang keras, karena bersifat racun yang dapat menyebabkan kanker, keracunan, iritasi mata, iritasi kulit. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengidentifikasi Rhodamin B dalam selai strawberry tanpa merek yang dijual di Pasar Dupa Pekanbaru. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan Kromatografi Lapis Tipis menggunakan n-butanol, asam asetat glasial dan aquades (10: 2.5: 6) sebagai fase gerak. Sampel yang diambil adalah selai strawberry merah tanpa merek yang dijual di Pasar Dupa Pekanbaru. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa nilai Rf dari sampel berbeda dari nilai Rf larutan standar Rhodamin B. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa sampel selai stroberi tidak bermerek tidak mengandung Rhodamin B

Abstract

Pempek merupakan salah satu makanan tradisional ciri khas Palembang. Pempek sudah dikenal masyarakat secara luas. Masyarakat tidak terlalu susah untuk mendapatkan pempek di jajanan di sekitaran Garut Kota. Pembuatan pempek ini meggunakan bahan dasar utama daging ikan dan sagu. Beberapa temuan mengenai penggunaan boraks pada pempek di beberapa tempat. Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi dan menganalisis penggunaan borak pada empek yang dijual di sekitar kecamatan Garut Kota. Penelitian ini merupakan studi deskriptif dan laboratorium dengan tujuan untuk mengidentifikasi dan melakukan penetapan kadar boraks menggunakan analisis kualitatif dengan kurkumin dan analisis kuantitatif dengan titrasi asam basa. Sampel pempek yang peroleh dari 20 pedagang yang terseber di kecamatan Garut Kota. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, secara kualitatif teridentifikasi 3 sampel pempek yang positif mengandung boraks. Hasil dari pemeriksaan organoleptis dari 20 sampel pempek, 3 sampel mempunyai tekstur yang sangat kenyal dan berbau seperti zat kimia sedangkan pada sampel pempek tidak mengandung boraks. Pengujian boraks dilanjutkan pada penetapan kadar atau analisa kuantitatif. Kandungan boraks pada ketiga sampel adalah 120 mg/g, 77,1 mg/g, dan 40,9 mg/g Dari hasil tersebut, disarankan agar masyarakat bisa membedakan dan memilih jajan pempek yang tidak mengandung boraks.

Abstract

Salah satu pemeriksaan labolatorium klinik adalah pemeriksaan glukosa darah. Banyaknya permintaan pemeriksaan glukosa darah dan pentingnya pengelolaan sampel terkadang timbul beberapa masalah yang tidak dapat dihindari seperti masalah reagent, alat, mati listrik, kurangnya tenaga laboratorium dan masalah pengiriman sampel sehingga memaksa untuk dilakukannya penundaan pemeriksaan. Tujuan penelitian ini Untuk mengetahui pengaruh penyimpanan sampel pada pemeriksaan glukosa. Metode : Penelitian ini menggunakan jenis penelitian eksperimental dengan melakukan intervensi waktu pada setiap sampel . Intervensi dalam penelitian ini menggunakan lama pendiaman sampel dan terdiri dari pemeriksaan segera, pemeriksaan yang ditunda selama 30 menit, 45 menit dan 60 menit. Hasil : Hasil penelitian diperoleh bahwa nilai signifikansi 0,000 (p < 0,05), artinya terjadi pengaruh penyimpanan sampel darah yang bermakna pada pemeriksaan glukosa yang didiamkan selama 30 menit,45 menit dan 60 menit. Kesimpulan : Terjadi pengaruh penyimpanan sampel darah pada pemeriksaan glukosa sehingga disarankan untuk melakukan pemeriksaan glukosa darah segera tanpa penundaan.

Abstract

The number of platelets in Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) is one of the factors that determine the quality of PRP. Whole blood is the main component in the manufacture of PRP. Improper handling of the whole blood can affect the number of thrombocytes in PRP. The study aim was to determine the effect of the whole blood storage duration on the platelet count of PRP. The design of this study used a post-test only control group design. The sample of this study was the whole blood from 8 male donors who had met the inclusion, and exclusion criteria. This study compared the PRP platelet counts processed from whole blood stored for 24 hours, and 48 hours compared to a control group/storage group for 0 hours. Platelets count data were analyzed using the one-way ANOVA test and followed by the Least Significant Difference (LSD) test using the SPSS version 22.0 program. PRP platelet count data are presented in tables and graphs. Based on statistical analysis, there was a significant decrease (p <0.05) between the PRP platelet counts in 24 hours storage group (132.937 platelets/µL) and the 48 hours storage group (91.000 platelets/µL) compared to the control group / 0-hour storage (702.437 platelets/µL). The duration of storing whole blood can affect the PRP platelet count, the longer the whole blood is stored, the lower the PRP platelet count will be. Abstract

The plant has active chemical compounds which is able to be functioned as antibacterial, one of them is called parang romang (Boehmeria virgata (Forst) Guill). Bacteria is a living thing which can cause many diseases. Multidrug resistance is one needs to be paid attention to. Therefore, science and health development is a new challenge for the progress of bringing a new solution to antibiotics. Several multinational studies were conducted to determine the prevalence of herbal use in infections caused by microorganisms. The use of plant substances such as alkaloids, organosulfur compounds, phenolic acids, flavonoids, carotenoids, coumarins, terpenoids, tannins, has been the interest of recently research as the part of a development in science and health. The purpose of this study was to determine the antibacterial activity of the root extract of parang romang (Boehmeria virgata (Forst) Guill) towards the Streptococcus mutans and Pseudomonas aeruginosabacteria as well as to identify the chemical components in the root extract of parang romang as antibacterial. The results of the study were found at the Rf value in the TLC-Bioautography test; it obtained 0.09; 0.27; 0.36; and the active chemical components in the extract of the root of parang romang (Boehmeria virgata (Forst) Guill) gave positive results on the appearance of the spots in terms of the terpenoid group., alkaloids, phenols and flavonoids. The conclusion of this study is the root extract of parang romang (Boehmeria virgata (Forst) Guill) at the concentration of 1mg/mL can inhibit the Streptococcus mutans and Pseudomonas aeruginosa

Abstract

Typhoid fever is an acute fever caused by the salmonella bacteria which attacks the digestive tract and other organs of the body. The purpose of this study was to determine the percentage of neutrophil stab and neutrophil segments in patients with typhoid fever with titers 1/320 and to determine the morphology of neutrophil segments in patients with typhoid fever with titers 1/320. The design of this research is descriptive research, a descriptive cross-sectional study. The place and time of the study were carried out at Pekanbaru Petala Bumi General Hospital in December 2018 - June 2019. The samples used were EDTA blood patients with typhoid fever with widal 1/320 titer as many as 10 samples with non probability sampling purposive sampling.The results of this study are Neutrophil stab with a value of 2-6% as many as 2 respondents, and a value of> 6% as many as 8 respondents. Whereas in segment neutrophils with a value of 50-70% as many as 5 respondents and<50% 5 respondents. The conclusion of this study is on acute bacterial infections, Neutrophils Stab (young Neutrophils) has increased which is usually called a leftward shift (Shift to the left).Core neutrophil segment abnormalities such as hypersegmentation usually occur in infections, this hypersegmentation disorder is caused by a disruption of the neutrophil nucleus during infection.

Abstract

Tinea mannum is fungal infection of the hands. These disease generally infected who worked at humanity and wet, such as fish traders. The available data about Tinea mannum in Indonesia are limited to case report. The purpose of this study to determinine the proportion of fungal infection in the hand of kodim market in Pekanbaru. This study is a descriptive study with purposive sampling method conducted involving 12 fish trader who suffer from fungal infected tinea mannum. The diagnosis is based microscopist and macroscopist. The microscopist examination using a 10 % KOH solution from hand’s skin and fungal culture in Saboraud Dextrose Agar. The results of this study showed all fish trader that infected of tinea mannum. Two groups of fungi were found, namely dermatophytes such as Trichophyton tonsurans as much as 5 fungi (6)% and non dermatophytes such as Aspergillus sp. as much as 6 fungi (30%), Yeast as much as 4 fungi (20%), Penicilium as much as 2 fungi (10%) and Trichoderma sp. ., Basidiobolus sp., Fusarium sp., Each as much as 1 fungi (5%).

Abstract

Tuberculosis is an infectious disease caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis. Treatment of tuberculosis contained at least four types of drugs such as Rifampicin, Ethambutol, Streptomycin and Pyrazinamide. Ethambutol and Pyrazinamide can cause an increase in uric acid levels. This study aims to describe the uric acid levels of tuberculosis patients of Rumah Sakit X. This type of research was Cross Sectional by taking secondary data on the patient's medical record at Rumah Sakit X. The results of laboratory tests from 20 tuberculosis patients who consumed anti tuberculosis drugs showed that uric acid levels above normal after taking the drug for 2 months was suffered by 5 male patients (25%) and 7 female patients (35%). Uric acid levels above normal was suffered by 4 male patients (20%) and 7 female patients (35%) after taking the drug for 4 months. Uric acid levels above the normal was suffered by 4 male patients (20%) and 6 female patients (30%) after taking the drug for 6 months. By using ANOVA test, get t count 0,000 <0,005. The conclusion of this study is that there is a difference between uric acid levels before treatment and after treatment.
