Abstract

This study aims to examine and analyze the effect of profitability, liquidity, the audit committee and the board of directors on the disclosure of the sustainability report with firm size as a moderating variable. The population of this research are basic materials and energy companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange in 2018-2020. The sample selection was done by using purposive sampling, the number of samples was 57 companies. Data analysis using SPSS version 25 software. The results of this study indicate that profitability, liquidity, audit committee and the board of directors have a significant influence on the disclosure of the sustainability report. The size of the company is able to strengthen the influence of profitability and the board of directors on the disclosure of the sustainability report, but cannot moderate the effect of liquidity and the audit committee on the disclosure of the sustainability report.

Abstract

The presence of computer technology with its process power has enabled the development of information systems in various fields. Although in some cases academic information systems for tertiary institutions have many benefits, there are still some weaknesses in the application of academic information systems, one of which is the lack of quality of management of the academic information system in supporting the work efficiency of academic procedures and user satisfaction. The purpose of this research is to see how the information system management model has an impact on user and organizational satisfaction so that the expected benefits are the development of research models that can assist higher education institutions in improving their academic information systems. The population in this study were students at tertiary institutions in Batam City. The sampling technique used is simple random sampling. Furthermore, the data analysis used is the Partial Least Square (PLS) approach. PLS is a component-based or variant-based Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) model where the variables used are system quality, information quality, service quality, user satisfaction, loyalty.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of compensation, work environment, job satisfaction on the work motivation of employees in Sekupang District, Batam City, either partially or simultaneously. This research is descriptive with causal effect design. The sample in the study of all 110 employees was taken by census method. In the research conducted by respondents who returned 55 questionnaires. Data analysis used multiple linear regression. The results showed that there were effects of compensation, work environment, and job satisfaction on employee motivation both partially and simultaneously, meaning that the better the respondents' perceptions about the compensation they received, the job satisfaction they felt in carrying out their work, and the work environment they felt, the better their motivation will be.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of liquidity, corporate social responsibility and institutional ownership on profitability. This research was conducted on companies in the basic and chemical industry sectors listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange in the 2016-2020 period. The population in this study amounted to 80 companies, while the sample in this study amounted to 28 companies using a purposive sampling method. Data analysis using multiple linear regression. Partially, liquidity has an insignificant negative effect on profitability, while corporate social responsibility has a non-significant positive effect on profitability, and institutional ownership has a significant positive effect on profitability in companies in the basic and chemical industry sectors listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange in 2016-2020.

Abstract

This research was conducted to formulate an assessment and selection of business successors based on objective criteria to support the business succession process at the company which runs a business in the distribution of pharmaceutical products and medical devices. This research uses a qualitative approach with descriptive methods. Data were collected by using several techniques such as literature study, in-depth interviews, distribution of questionnaires and data triangulation from three informants who were also respondents to evaluate potential successors. Candidate evaluation criteria are determined based on the ACE-MAN theory (Acceptable, Charismatic, Energetic, Managing, Achieving and Networking). The candidate evaluation formulation is analyzed by qualitative methods and Simple Multi Attribute Rating Technique (SMART) method to find the best candidate with the highest rating score based on ACE-MAN criteria. The result of the research conducted is that the company has started planning the business succession process. There is one candidate who obtains the highest rating results from three assessors after being processed by the SMART method based on the ACE-MAN criteria and also being able to fulfill the family cultural values applied in the company.

Abstract

The workload can be defined as the difference between the ability of employees to work with the demands of the work that must be carried out. The human workload is physical and mental. The workload can also influence the level of stress and level of fatigue received by employees. This study aims to determine the level of mental workload, work stress, and level of fatigue experienced by employees of the Palm Oil Mill Operational Section (PKS) PTPN V Sei Galuh in the District Kampar. The population in this study included all employees in the manufacturing, engineering, and quality control departments. The sampling technique using the census method, the sample of this study amounted to 117 people. The mental workload was measured using the NASA-TLX questionnaire, and work stress was measured with the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) questionnaire, while fatigue levels were measured using the Subjective Self Test Rating questionnaire from the Industrial Fatigue Research Committee (IFRC) Japan. The results of calculating the mental workload of employees in the category of moderate mental workload, with an average total score of 66.22. Employee work stress is in the category of moderate work stress with an average total score of 32.67. While the results of the IFRC questionnaire employees are in the category of moderate work fatigue with an average total score of 30.79.

Abstract

This study aims to prove the influence of word of mouth, brand awareness and marketing mix strategies on purchasing decisions. The population in this study is all the people of Tanjungpinang City and Bintan Regency, totaling 395,928 people in 2022. Sampling uses a probability sampling technique. The sample in this study were the people of Tanjungpinang-Bintan who had consumed bottled drinking water (AMDK) found in the Tanjungpinang-Bintan area when the questionnaire was distributed. This type of research is quantitative research. Primary research data comes from questionnaires. The data collected and tested using Smart PLS 3 Software. The results of the study found that brand awareness has an effect and is not significant on purchasing decisions and the marketing mix strategy has no effect and is not significant on purchasing decisions. Based on the results of the hypothesis test, the influential and significant value is found in the word of mouth variable (X1) on purchasing decisions (Y), obtained a t-statistic value of 3.834 > t-table 1.66 and a p-value of 0.000 < a significance value of 0.05. Based on the results of the determination coefficient test or goodness of fit (R²) a value of 0.369 (36.9%) was obtained, indicating that this research model was moderate because it was able to explain 39.6% of the entire study. While the remaining 60.4% is explained by other variables not examined in this study.

Abstract

ESG is an approach that assesses how companies operate from the perspectives of the environment, social, and governance aspects. The ESG concept helps companies integrate social and environmental responsibilities, enabling investors to select companies focused on sustainable long-term growth and value. The Indonesia Stock Exchange, as the organizer of activities in the capital market, also emphasizes these issues and has launched several ESG Quality 45 IDX Kehati-based indices and carbon intensity, allowing investors to integrate ESG factors into their portfolio formation. This research aims to construct an optimal portfolio consisting of stocks indexed in ESG Quality 45 IDX Kehati. Historical stock data were obtained from www.yahoo.finance.com from December 20, 2021, to March 3, 2023, and processed using Microsoft Excel. The research findings indicate three stocks that form the optimal portfolio: MIKA, BJBR, and SIDO, with respective proportions of MIKA (99.83%), BJBR (0.01%), and SIDO (0.006%). The study also reveals that the expected return of the optimal portfolio is 0.16% higher than the market expected return.

Abstract

This report focuses on the Indonesian and ASEAN maritime markets. Indonesia's wide network of islands and key location in Southeast Asia have a considerable impact on its transportation system, economy, and trade. The shipping industry contributes significantly to the expansion of the global economy. ASEAN emphasizes the importance of the maritime industry in fostering economic progress and regional integration. Recent discussions at the ASEAN Maritime Forum included environmental concerns, vessel security, cyberattacks on maritime infrastructure, and regional collaboration in relation to maritime transport. Previous research has emphasized the efforts made by nations such as Malaysia, Singapore, Vietnam, Myanmar, Cambodia, Indonesia, Thailand, and the Philippines to enhance their maritime sectors. The purpose of this paper is to examine the current situation of the shipping market in Indonesia and other ASEAN nations, as well as the problems and opportunities it brings.
