Abstract

Learning model is one of the most critical factors in learning. To enhance the learning creativity and master the learning competency is, therefore, to promote the implementation of PBL by means of associating between the technology and the Malay cultural community. By promoting PBL, the students’ activeness and creativity is significantly increasing.In this model, the teacher purely acts as a facilitator and evaluator of the student’s worksand or products presented in the results of the project. By producing real works, the students are motivated to increasingly enhance their learning activeness and creativity. The purpose of conducting this study was to determine the effectiveness of the implementation of PBL learning model in UniversitasPahlawanTuankuTambusai Riau in efforts to increase the students’creativity in the Malay Culture’ subject matter. In conclusion, the implementation of the PBL learning model in Malay Culture’ subject matter can significantly enhance the students’activeness and creativity.

Abstract

This research aims to find out whether there is an effect on using Vlogging as a media towards the students’ speaking skill in online class, in academic year 2019/2020. This research is quasi-experimental research that carried out at Eleventh grade students of MA Muallimin Muhammadiyah Bangkinang. It involved 52 students of two classes, XI Agama Putri as experimental class and XI Agama Putra as control class. Each class consisted of 26 students. The experimental class was taught by using Vlogging as a media while control class was taught by using Voice Recording. The data were analyzed by using T-test formula. Based on the collecting data, it was obtained that t_(count )is 6 and t_(table )is 1,67 where α is 0,05. It showed that t_(count )higher than t_(table )(6 higher than 1,67), so that〖 H〗_0 is rejected and H_a is accepted. It means there is a significant difference in the students’ speaking skill between the students who were taught by using Vlogging and those who were taught by using Voice Recording. Based on the result findings, it can be concluded that the use of Vlogging in teaching speaking skill in online class is effective.

Abstract

Teaching young learners is not a straight forward job. Then, vocabulary is central of teaching and learning. Copying with the characteristic of young learner students, song is one amongst applicable ways in which to form an honest atmosphere to form teaching and learning method contemporary and attention-grabbing. Teaching alphabet of young learners through song can describe the benefits of song to support English language learning method and conjointly review some strategies to use songs in English room. This research described a case for the position of English language in country and therefore the characteristic of young learner as foreign language learners. Songs area unit learning resources that have numerous blessings, as well as linguistics resource, affective/psychological resource, and psychological feature resource. Songs can also be used as a media to show four major skills, that area unit speaking, reading and writing. Another language ability like pronunciation, vocabulary and synchronic linguistics may be learnt with the utilization of songs yet. Songs may be smart learning sources for English language category. It might be higher if English language academics in elementary colleges understand the benefits of victimization songs within the learning method to boost the standard of English language learning method.

Abstract

This research aims to find out whether there is an effect on using Animation Movies as media towards the students’ writing skill in online class, in academic year 2019/2020. This research is a quasi-experimental research. It involved 48 students of two class, class 8A as the control class and class 8C as the experimental class. Each class consisted of 24 students. The experimental class was taught by using Animation Movies as media and control class was taught without using Animation Movies. The data were analyzed by using T-test formula. Based on the collecting data, it was obtained that t_(count )is 6,29 and t_(table )is 1,68 where α is 0,05. It showed that t_(count ) higher than t_(table )(6,29 higher than 1,68), so that 〖 H〗_0 is rejected and H_a is accepted. It means there is a significant difference in the students’ writing skill between the students who were taught by using Animation Movies and those who were taught using teacher method. Based on the result findings, it can be concluded that the use of Animation Movies in teaching writing skill in online class is effective.

Abstract

This research is aimed at children who are actively involved in technology for educational reasons. Interactive media is considered as an inseparable part of the language learning process to support the efficiency of the learning process by taking into account the needs and achievements of students. Therefore, the application of the information and communication technology (ICT) curriculum in early childhood education is one of the efforts to develop the education sector to improve and support the learning, language and literacy of students with ICT. This descriptive research aims to describe learning English for Mathematics with ICT for kindergarten students. In addition, the description can be one of the basic forms of developing interactive learning based on student independent learning. In addition, this learning arrangement also aims to improve the learning habits and independence of students.

Abstract

This research aims to describe how students' writing skills in expressing opinion text by using the Google Classroom application and to find out problems in the online class by using Google Classroom at eleventh grade of SMAN 2 Kuok academic year 2019/2020. The method used is descriptive research. The subjects of this research consists of 34 students of class XI IIS and class XI MIPA. The researchers used two instruments, those were test and questionnaire. Based on, the analysis of the research showed that the average of the students' achievement in writing was 51. The results of the questionnaire 8 or 24% of students were able to learn to expression opinion texts well using Google Classroom. Meanwhile, 13 or 38% did not understand writing opinion texts. In addition, the test results shows that students' writing skills in expressing opinion text by using Google Classroom were are at a weak level. From the questionnaire data, it shows that students do not understand and find it difficult to write text to expression opinion by using Google Classroom and have difficulty getting a good network because of the data package they use. Students are often late in sending assignments to the teacher because of the network problems used. It can be concluded that students' writing skills in expressing opinion texts using Google Classroom are still low.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the students' autonomous learning in online class and find out the problems in online class at University of Pahlawan Tuanku Tambusai. This is a descriptive research. The participants are the second, fourth, and sixth semester students of English Language Education Study Program. The researchers used questionnaire as the instrument. There were two results gained from the study. First, based on the discussion on the implementation of autonomous learning, autonomous learning was implemented by integrating metacognitive strategies that use learning process, planning for learning, monitoring the learning task, and evaluating. Second, based on the discussion, the students' perception of autonomous learning in online class, most of the students had positive perception of autonomous learning. The students become more active learn in online class. The students could design the learning material independently. However, there are some difficulties in implementing online learning activities, students have limitations in understanding the material they learned. With respect to research findings, it has to be designed based on the learning process as usual. It is just that in this case students were not familiar with the independent learning process in online classrooms

Abstract

The study aims to 1) find out the strategies used by English teachers in teaching Reading for Young Learners, 2) find out the resistances experienced by English teachers in teaching Reading for Young Learners, and 3) find out how the teachers overcoming resistances in teaching Reading for Young Learners. The study was conducted at SD IT Insan Cendekia Bangkinang. This research can be a description of students 'English skills, especially students' reading skills. This research uses qualitative research in the form of case studies. Data obtained through interviews. Based on the data found, it can be concluded that the English teachers in teaching Reading use strategies according to students needs and school conditions. This strategy is used to overcome problems during the teaching and learning process. The results of the interviews showed that the students did not like reading English texts. So that teachers need to try to find good and appropriate learning strategies for students.
