Abstract

This study aims to describe the description of work-life balance in married female nurses at Cut Meutia General Hospital. This research was conducted at Cut Meutia General Hospital, North Aceh. The method in this research is descriptive and quantitative. The number of participants in the study consisted of 76 married nurses. This study uses the work-life balance dimension, which consists of four dimensions, namely, work interference with personal life (WIPL), personal life interference with work (PLIW), personal life enhancement of work (PLEW), work enhancement of personal life (WEPL). The technique used in this research is non-probability sampling with purposive sampling. The data collected in this study used a Likert scale, namely the work-life balance scale, which amounted to 22 items. Data analysis shows that the overall work-life balance of married female nurses at Cut Meutia General Hospital is in high categorization, namely 53.9%. The results of this study have a positive effect on work in personal life and have a positive effect that is formed from the realm of personal life to the respondent's work. In conclusion, married female nurses are able to balance their personal life and work (work-life balance). The PLIW dimension is the lowest at 53.9%. This shows that a person's personal life is very influential

Abstract

Staphylococcus aureus is a normal flora that exists in the upper respiratory tract but can cause infection if found in amounts that are more than the normal limit (>110 CFU/ml). One of the herbal medicinal plants that is widely used in Indonesia is turmeric (Curcuma longa Linn.). Turmeric rhizome (Curcuma longa Linn.) contains active substances that have antibacterial properties, such as curcumin, flavonoids, alkaloids, saponins, and tannins. To determine the antibacterial activity of turmeric (Curcuma longa Linn.) rhizome extract against the growth of Staphylococcus aureus bacteria. This research method is a literature review study. Data collection techniques through Google Scholar, Science Direct, and Pubmed with a time limit of the last 5 years will be eliminated according to the restriction criteria. There were 2005 articles that were found and then excluded according to the restriction criteria. 15 articles were found to be reviewed. Turmeric rhizome extract (Curcuma longa Linn.) has antibacterial activity against Staphylococcus aureus bacteria.

Abstract

Dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF) is an infectious disease of the dengue virus, which is transmitted by the Aedes aegypti mosquito as the main vector and Aedes albopictus as a potential vector. Monitoring the population density of Aedes aegypti is very important to assist in evaluating the presence of threats in each city, and so that mosquito eradication measures can be improved. The purpose of this study was to determine the density of the DHF vector in the village of Tumpok Teungoh, Lhokseumawe City. The population in this study were all houses in the village of Tumpok Teungoh, Lhokseumawe City, which amounted to 2,531 houses. The number of samples used is 100 houses which will be carried out by random sampling. Data was collected through direct observation by observing the type and number of containers as well as the presence of Aedes aegypti in water containers/holds in each house. Data analysis was carried out descriptively on the type of container, the number of larva-positive containers, the number of larva-positive houses, and the larval density, which was calculated based on the house index, container index, and Breteau index numbers. The results showed that the House Index (HI) was 29%, the container index (CI) was 20.5%, and the Breteau index (BI) was 41%. In conclusion, the density of DHF larvae in Tumpok Teungoh Village, Lhokseumawe City, is at level 5, which is the category of moderate risk of DHF transmission.

Abstract

Malaria is a parasitic disease that is often the cause of death, especially in tropical and subtropical areas. One way to eradicate malaria is to break the chain of disease transmission in order to control the mosquito vector of malaria. The use of insecticide-treated mosquito nets can be used as an alternative in controlling malaria vectors for people who refuse to use the Indoor Residual Spraying (IRS) method. The review articles were obtained through a search using the Pubmed, Google Scholar, Garuda, and ScienceDirect databases. The keywords used were (LLINs OR "Long Lasting Insecticidal Nets") AND Malaria. 1843 articles were obtained, and extraction was carried out based on the restriction criteria so that 13 articles were obtained. In conclusion, the use of insecticide-treated mosquito nets LLIN is effective in killing mosquito vectors so that it has the potential to prevent malaria.

Abstract

Tuberculosis (TB) is a disease with a high risk of transmission and is one of the diseases whose cases continue to increase and cause death worldwide. Until now, pulmonary tuberculosis has been difficult to treat because of the patient's non-compliance with taking anti-tuberculosis drugs (OAT). This study aims to investigate the factors associated with adherence to taking OAT drugs in tuberculosis patients at Cut Meutia General Hospital. This research is an observational study with a cross-sectional design. The study was conducted at the pulmonary disease polyclinic of Cut Meutia General Hospital, North Aceh Regency. The study was conducted on 100 patients, with the sampling technique being total sampling. The sample inclusion criteria in this study were patients who had been diagnosed with pulmonary tuberculosis, were willing to participate in the study, and had signed an agreement to participate in the study. A total of 100 patients participated in this study. Most of the patients were male (64%), aged over 46 years (52%), had low education (75%), had difficult hospital access (70%), and had poor knowledge regarding TB treatment (60%). In conclusion, the factors of age, gender, and distance of residence are related to adherence to taking OAT. Meanwhile, education and knowledge are not related to adherence to taking OAT in pulmonary TB patients at Cut Meutia General Hospital, North Aceh Regency.
