Abstract

English has a need for some people around the world. People been struggling to learn and master English actively. And so teachers around the world been struggling to find the best way to teach the students of how to master English well. Not many people realize that the ability to speak and to master new language is an innate ability. Its in the brain. When the teacher are able to dig thebrain potential of the students than all the problem of learning English suffered by the students are solved. In this article, the author will show what our brains do when students listen to you. Most particularly, we will show how the brains of infants and children are tuned to understand language, and how changes in the brain during development serve as preconditions for language learning. Understanding language is a process that involves at least two important brain regions, which need to work together in order to make it happen. This would be impossible without connections that allow these brain regions to exchange information. The nerve fibers that make up these connections develop and change during infancy and childhood and provide a growing underpinning for the ability to understand and use language. We will show you how to gain students’ brain potentiality. So, they can learn English maximally like their own language

Abstract

This study is about the suggested activities which are Information Gap Activities intended to qualify the students’ oral proficiency. The writer chooses this topic since there is most of the students’ lack of the activities which can motivate students to develop their communicative proficiency. Almost of the classroom activities only consist of statement of grammar rules, list of vocabularies, and sentences for translation. While oral practice was limited to students. Because of that the writer tries to provide Information Gap Activities which can motivate the students of Pusat Kegiatan Belajar Masyarakat (PKBM) Candra Kirana. In this study, the writer uses the first-year student of PKBM Candra Kirana as the subject of the study. The writer designs the lesson plans, implementing the actions, making observations and reflecting on the results. This study was conducted in three cycles. To collect data, the writer used instruments of observations, lists, tests, and questionnaires. The data obtained was presented in two ways, qualitatively and quantitatively. The findings showed that IGT activities were effective in improving the students’ oral proficiency. This can be seen from the improvements after each cycle. This can be seen by the rise of students’ mean scores in the test results: 58.7 in the first cycle, 67 in the second cycle and 83.3 in the third cycle. Improvement was also seen based on the results from the observations that showed positivity, and good responses from the students from the questionnaire results. This means that the students responded positively to the implementation of this technique.

Abstract

The progress of a nation is largely determined by the quality of education. The more quality a nation's education is, the more potential it is to increase the dignity of that nation. Therefore, the government created a National Education Standard as a benchmark for minimum standards that must be achieved and even exceeded by educational units in the territory of the Republic of Indonesia. The implementation of the National Education Standards must be regularly monitored by school supervisors and reported to the relevant authorities. The principle of web-based transparency is one of the strategies that need to be taken in order to streamline the monitoring of the National Education Standards
