Abstract

The development of science and technology is difficult tostop. Technology as a product of science penetrated all the lines of life. Islamic boarding schoolcan not be separated from technology. Positive and negative of technology is a necessity. The ease of all affairs is one of the positive impacts of technology, while the negative impacts of technology are gave birth to instant-minded and “devilish” human beings. Good character education in these conditions plays an important role in life. Islamic boarding school as an Islamic educational institution in Indonesia is considered and trusted as a character education institution. Indeed, the term character education is introduced and proclaimed by Western educational leaders, but the substance of education has been done in Islamic boarding school. Thomas Lickona called it moral knowing, it is reflected in the akhlak subject in Islamic boarding school, as well as the term moral action is reflected in the praised behavior of the santri and exemplified by the kiai and the ustadz. The integration between moral knowing and good behavior in the students’ real life is able to give birth to the sensitivity to do well (moral feeling). Those three components of character education is implemented in a reflective that is indirectly the cultivation of good characters students such as habituation to do good and exemplary exemplified by ustad and kiai, and also done substantively that is by way of character materials taught directly through moral education in Islamic school or recitations.

Abstract

Islamic boarding school is indigenous educational institution of Indonesia. It began since ‘wali songo’ era, preciously Sunan Ampel. The oldest Islamic boarding school which exists is SidogiriIslamic boarding school (est. 1745). Islamic boarding school contributes massively in struggling to, defending of and developing the independence. This fact is evidenced by conferment of National patriot for founder of islamic boarding school, such as KH. Hasyim Asy’ari and KHR.As’ad Syamsul Arifin. Islamic boarding school as an organisasion is success to maintain their existence for long-term sustainability. The critical factor for their success is an ability to adapt the organizational structure to their internal- and external-environment. Islamic boarding school as organization is unique, different from corporate, and sub-culture of Indonesian sociocultural system. Hypotheses of successful of islamic boarding school are firstly, integrity of kyai, which is supported by clear ukhrawi vision; secondly, openness to development of knowledge and technology, while firstly considering respectable books of turath, and thirdly, kiai and santri’s socio-cultural and intellectual model which will be interchanged in the field.

Abstract

The problem of education today is the declining spirit of learners to learn,especially in religious learning. This is evidenced by the early learners stop learning in the mushalla in the villages. The students’ learning interest in Islamic Education courses is very low. Many factors cause this to happen. There is a conclusion that the trigger is the quality of teachers who are also low Islamic Education, either the quality of mastery of the material or mastery of learning methods. There is also an assume that the cause of low interest of learners to Islamic Education’s learning is because Islamic Education is not National examination, so they do not feel compelled to learn it. The one solution for this problem is the implementation of Active Learning on Islamic Education learning in schools. In this paper, Active Learning - with the various methods in it - is presented practicaly. This paper assists the Islamic Education learning practitioner in their instructional assignment. There are three methods are presented learning in this paper, they are Jigsaw, Numbered Head Together, and Think Pair and Share.

Abstract

Many peoples say, aggressive childrens have a tendency to be naughty even they are justified as bad boys, stubborn, and difficult to mansge. As long as their aggressiveness is positive, it does not matter to them. The environment is quite influential in helping them grow. Emotional Smart is intended to provide the ability for the child to be able to process and train the emotional stability. This is certainly through help and assistance provided by parents and teachers. Among the media that can help the development of children’s emotional intelligence are story and music. Many studies stated that these two things not only help the child in developing intellectual intelligence, but also in developing his emotional intelligence. These two media will be discussed in this article.

Abstract

Students are less interesting in religious lessons. This is not only experienced by elementary school students until senior high school students, but also felt by Islamic elementary school students until Islamic senior high school students. this has an impact on the religious quality of society that declines compared to the previous era.Especially compared to the time of the Prophet `. Many factors influence it. One of them is suspected due to the fact that the teaching method is less interesting. To offer a solution to this factor, it is worth a look back the ways of the Prophet in educating his friends. Furthermore, the methods are contextualized in modern education. It can not be separated from the adaptation and modification of these methods. In this paper will be presented a track record of educational methods of the Prophet` and that relenvance with modern educational methods.

Abstract

Parents who have children will crave their child to be successful. Success in any case, in morals, education, career, and so forth.Because a child is predicted to be their successor and successor (parent) in this life. Naturally there is no parent in the world who wants them to suffer, deprived, and unhappy. So many parents with their strengths to make the future of their children. In development and development to adulthood, children have basic needs that must be met, that is spiritual and physical needs. To meet these two needs required coaching, guidance, and attention that is needed. Although every newborn child has brought capacity and development potential, this development will not work on its own without the help of an adult, a family (a parent). For more details in this paper, we will discuss parenting concepts (parenting, parenting mode, parenting methods) and also talk about children’s education in the family, children’s education stage, children’s education materials, family roles in education.

Abstract

The preparation and development of the curriculum can not be done recklessly. In Islam, education has the characteristics different from education in general, for example Islamic education emphasizes akhlak, combines science and charity, and so forth. T management science approach is required in the preparation or development of the curriculum, so that the Islamic education curriculum development reflects the characteristics of the school. There are three stages in curriculum development: curriculum planning, curriculum implementation, and curriculum evaluation. This paper contains an explanation of these three stages in relation to the principles, fundamentals and approaches in curriculum development. The concept of management is integrated with the concept of curriculum development in an integral way, so the two concepts become a single concept of curriculum management in Islamic education.

Abstract

The real purpose of education is humanizing human beings. The most prominent thing in humanity is diversity, plurality or multiculturality. Indonesia is a country consisting of a plural society. This should be realized by all individuals in this nusantara society. Providing awareness of the existence of mulitikulturalitas or pluralism can be pursued in the educational process. For the sake of this interest, then in the educational process there must be some kind of integralization effort between forming the intellect and morality of learners. The function of integralization of moral and intellectual education is to know more about diversity then combine with knowledge and practice with morality then achieve the purposes of national education. The conclusions or findings of Freire’s and Ki Hadjar Dewantara’s analysis approach are the absence of differences in the educational portion, the absence of social classes as the limits of education, and the educator has a role as teacher not only as a facilitator but also as a identifierin diversity and be honest about the history, there is a link between learners and educators, mutual understanding, learners receive teaching, and educators learn to understand learners, and this function is summarized in education for freedom and ing ngarsho sung tuladha, ing madyo mangun karsha, tut wur handayani.

Abstract

This paper aims to describe, understand, search and retrieve messages of educational values, especially the value of solidarity on the story of ants and prophet Sulaiman in Surah al-Naml, to explain the implementation of solidarity education that existed in the Surah al-Naml in Islamic education in Indonesia. The story of ants and prophet Sulaiman a.s in Surat al-Naml contained various messages of educational values especially the value of solidarity for every reader. These values have been exemplified by ants, when the ant leader instructs his crew to immediately back into the nest because the prophet Sulaiman and his army will pass through the place. In this case, these small animals (ants) have exemplified the caring attitude towards others, mutual help, social feeling, sacrificial spirit, responsibility, and togetherness. To implement the solidarity education in Islamic education need three components, they are: planning, implementation, and evaluation. Planning of solidarity education in Islamic Religious Education can be done during the preparation of learning in the form of syllabus, semester program (promes), annual program (prota) and Lesson Plan (RPP) by incorporating the values of solidarity implicitly or explicitly. The implementation of solidarity education can be included in intracurricular and extracurricular learning.

Abstract

Indonesia is inhabited by a pluralist society and the majority of Moslems, but there are groups who say that multiculturalism is a western idea that does not exist in Islam. They forbid following multiculturalism because according to certain groups and not in accordance with the Qur’an and Hadith. The implications of this superficial understanding of Islam can lead to conflicts in the name of religion, and can lead to religious exclusiveness. The purposes of this study are (a) How to understand multiculturalism and (b) how is multiculturalism in Islamic perspective. The conclusion of this study are (a) Multiculturalism is the concept where communities in the context of nationality can recognize, and accept the diversity, diversity, plurality of cultures, races, religions and languages in pluralist nations. (b) Multiculturalism within the Islamic perspective has existed since Alqur’an was revealed, and contained in Hadits.
