Abstract

This research is a descriptive research which aims to determine the quality of test on final odd semester of the XI grade state senior high school made by Takalar team biology teacher academic year 2013-2014. The research populations were all of the questions and the answer sheets of the XI grade state senior high school science students on final odd semester Biology test. The research samples were the questions and student’s answer sheets earned from 4 schools: SMA Negeri 3 Takalar (N=108),  SMA Negeri 1 Polongbangkeng Utara (N=43), SMA Negeri 1 Polongbangkeng Selatan (N=28) dan SMA Negeri 1 Galesong Selatan (N=100). The variable in this study is about the quality of the test on final odd semester, which is reviewed using indicators: the quality of the content and  construction aspects that analyzed using the item analysis sheet, and also level of item validity, reliability, power of differentiator, level of difficulty, and distractors/detractors that calculated and interpreted using the formula and table interpretation. The research showed that on the analysis of the content aspects 34,29% of multiple choice and 40% of essay questions fulfilled the criteria. On the analysis of the construction aspects 0% of multiple choice and 0% of essay questions fulfilled the criteria. The validity of multiple choice items were  45,71% in low category, while the essay were 80% in high category. The level of reliability of multiple choice items were unreliable, while the essay were reliable. The power of differentiator of multiple choice items were 37,14% in good category, while the essay were 80% in good category. The difficulty level of multiple choice items were 57,14% in moderate category, while the essay were 100% in moderate category. Detractors effectiveness showed that there are 57,14% items that the entire of its detractors worked well. Keywords: Analysis of test, state senior high school in Takalar regency

Abstract

Abstract - In Lembak delapan Tribes traditional medicine, water decoction of the Sungkai leaves is used for raw material fever-lowering drugs (antipyretics), to maintain good health, and for malaria drug. This study aims to test the effectiveness of the infusion of leaves P. canescens to maintain goodhelth (immunity) in mice (Mus muculus). The Young leaves of Sungkai (P.canensces) was extracted by maceration method using 96% alcohol solvent. This study used 25 male mice strain Swiss Webster with 7-8 weeks old, with a body weight ranging from 30 g. At the immunity test, mice were divided into 5 groups. Group 1 (negative control) were given distilled water, group 2 (positive control) was given imunos 0.07 mg / kg bw, for the three treatment groups were given of the extract dose of 0.186 mg Sungkai / Kg mm, 0.375 mg / kg bw, and 0, 5625 mg / kg bw. Treatment with one gavage, with a span of 24 hours. After the calculation is done by taking a blood leukocytes from mice tail. Data were analyzed using ANOVA tables and followed by LSD test. The results showed that  the Immunity test dose of the most effective in helping the immune system with a dose of 0.567 mg Sungkai extract / kg bw, tends to increase by 36% leukocytes, better than than the comparator dose (imunos) leukosit only increase the amount by 23%.  Keywords: sungkai,immunity, mice

Abstract

Curriculum 2013 instructed that in learning to use the scientific approach, with one of the suggested method of learning is discovery - inquiry. For more contectual learning science (biology), the use of materials /learning resources from the surrounding environment are needed. Related to this has been done the research and development of learning science (biology) in the Junior Scondary Education with the aim to develop the learning science (biology)   discovery – inquiry-based using teaching materials derived from the potential of the local environment in the district of Pasuruan, East Java. Research and development using 4D models (difine, design, develop, disseminate) of Thiagajan et al (1974) were modified. The study involved 6 Department of Biology students who are taking the thesis and 6 teachers in junior partners test target. Each component of the learning device has been validated by one teacher in junior secondary school partner and one lecturer UM Department of Biological. The results showed that the level of validity of each of the component devices are developed, the validity of the syllabus reached 97.5 %, the validity of the Lesson Plan (RPP) reached 96.0 %, the validity worksheets reached 98 %, handouts validity reached 98.5 %, and validity of assessment instruments reached 96 %. From the try out results obtained at the level of adherence to classroom learning scenarios and devices reached 87.5 %. The results also showed that student learning process achievement were  improve, whether cognitive, affective, and psychomotor. Based on these results it is suggested that learning science (biology) carried kept in appropriate learning methods and sources of contextual learning environment surrounding potential students. Keywords : development of a learning device, Science (Biology), discovery - inquiry, local potential environment

Abstract

Abstract-Arecaceae is a monocot that grows in parts of the world from the tropics and sub-tropics, lowlands to highlands, on the mountains and the shore, in the lush and barren land. From the 215 genus of Arecaceae, the 46 genus is growing in Indonesia and 29 of them is endemic plant. Lately, Aracaceae research related to rare, whereas the benefits of it is good among other for drugs, cosmetics, building materials, and others. The study aims to determine the species of Arecaceae in the waterfall region of Irenggolo Kediri. Descriptive study was conducted with the observation and literature review technique. Samples were taken with a random roaming method which is divided into four zones according to the height of land. The Arecaceae found in Irenggolo waterfall Kediri as many as of six species, namely  A. pinnata, P. roconata, Daemonorops sp., Calamus unifarius, Calamus sp., S. Abstract

Gelatiniskind of protein extracted from animal collagen tissue. Chicken legs skin waste has not been used optimally, where as in the chicken legs skin contains collagent hatcan be extracted into gelatin. This study aims to: (1) measuring the tensile strength of gelatin produced fromthe washing process with different volumes of water flow, (2) determine the speed of enchance wound healing process in Mus musculus. Result were analyzedby ANOVA. The analysis showed differences in the volume of water flowingin the washing processafter the soakedin H2SO4did not give an affect to the tensile strength. Abstract

Pencemaran air merupakan fenomena pada kehidupan modern dan dapat disebabkan oleh sumber sumber pengembangan pekotaan, industri, perumahan, pertanian. Hasil pemantuan kualitas air sungai di 33 propinsi yang dilakukan oleh SARPEDAL  Kementrian Lingkungan Hidup 2011 dinyatakan bahwa 32 dari 51 sungai besar di Indonesia tercemar berat dan 16 tercemar sedang-berat dan hanya 1 yang dinyatakan masih memenuhi standar baku mutu, Beberapa Indikator untuk uji pencemaran perairan sebenarnya sudah banyak digunakan, namun demikian indikator pencemaran air oleh karena bahan kimia berbahaya atas dasar gangguan sistem endokrin ikan masih belum banyak diungkap.Pemantuan kualitas air sudah banyak dilakukan melalui indikator fisik, kimiawi, dan indikator biologis. Indikator biologis banyak mengalami perkembangan metode bila dibandinkan dengan indikator fisik dan kimiawi. Indikator biologi yang sudah sering dilakukan antara lain adalah: microorganism indicator, biodiversitas planktonya itu phyto dan zooplanktons, distribusi benthic (macrovertebrates, dsb) Perkembangan beberapa tahun  terakhir menunjukkan bahwa sistem endokrin ikan bisa digunakan sebagai bio indikator adanya pencemaran air khususnya yang diakibatkan oleh bahan kimia berbahaya. Berdasarkan hal tersebut pada artikel ini akan uraikan kajian teori terbaru tentang sistem endokrin ikan sebagai indikator cemaran air, serta studi pendahuluan peneliti tentang uji kualitas air pada beberapa perairan melaui gangguan sistem endokrin ikan yakni melaui pengujian gonadosomatik indek dan hepatosomatik indek serta kejadian interse katauovotestis pada ikan. Abstract

This study is aimed to develop a textbook of applied microbiology problem based in material industrial microbiology by standard BNSP. Teaching materials in the form of textbook will be to guide students in carrying out learning activities applied microbiology course. The research was conducted in the Graduate Program of UNIMED in January-May 2014, with the development model Thiagarajan (4-D), which consists of three stages: the first stage of defining which includes: initial preliminary final analysis, analysis of student, material analysis, task analysis and specification of learning objectives. The second stage of the design, which consists of: the selection of media, format selection, and initial planning. The third stage is the development, consisting of a lecturer assessment, validation by experts and the design of instructional materials, limited testing, and the final device. The resulting product is a textbook that will be used by third semester student of Biology Education Graduate Program of UNIMED. Teaching materials compiled into a book Industrial Microbiology problem based considered feasible by the validation team. Results matter expert team showed an average of 90.30 % very viable category, and instructional design experts categorized 83.4%. limited test group by microbiology lecturer gets by 91.30% results very appropriate category and 40 students of fourth semester of Biology Education Graduate Program of UNIMED assessed at 83.39 % of applied microbiology textbook problem-based in material industrial microbiology compiled interesting. Keywords: Development of teaching, materials, applied microbiology, problem-based

Abstract

The energy crisis is one of the problems facing mankind today. Because of the limitations of existing fossil energy on earth then much alternative energy development. One alternative energyi is developed briquettes. The briquettes are used in this study is the briquettes are made from raw material palm oil shell. Palm shell briquettes made by particle size variations. The measure used in the study are smaller than 8 mesh, between 8-12 mesh, between 12-20 mesh, and greater than 20 mesh. Grouping particle size sieve used to size 8 mesh, 12 mesh and 20 mesh. As the adhesives used briquettes cassava flour in the ratio 1:7 to palm shells. Briquettes with a mesh size of between 8 - 12 mesh has an average calorific value of the largest in the amount of 4696.2 cal / g. Briquettes with size greater than 20 mesh is the briquettes to trigger the shortest time and the amount of residual char slightly. Abstract

Abstrak- Tanaman melati (Jasminum sambac Ait.) berpotensi dimanfaatkan sebagai  tanaman obat karena adanya senyawa metabolit sekunder pada akar, batang daun dan bunga. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melakukan ekstraksi dan penapisan awal senyawa aktif bunga melati yang dilanjutkan dengan pengujian aktivitas antibakterinya. Ekstraksi dilakukan dengan metode maserasi bertingkat dengan menggunakan tiga pelarut yaitu kloroform, etil asetat dan etanol. Pengujian aktivitas antibakteri dengan metode difusi agar menggunakan kertas cakram dengan pelarut etil asetat pada variasi konsentrasi 20%, 30%, 40% dan 50%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak bunga J. sambac Ait. mempunyai tingkat kepolaran yang berbeda. Hasil penapisan awal terhadap aktivitas antibakteri menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak etil asetat mempunyai daya hambat terbesar terhadap pertumbuhan bakteri Staphylococcus aureus dan Shigella flexneri. Zona hambat terbesar pada pengujian aktivitas antibakteri dihasilkan oleh ekstrak etil asetat dengan konsentrasi 50% terhadap bakteri S.aureus. Kata kunci : antibakteri, ekstraksi, Jasminum sambac

Abstract

Soil insects are insects that live in thesurface of s­­­­oil and living in the soil. The current of soil insects population on agricultural ecosystems very rare as a result of intensive farming and modern farming practices using synthetic chemical fertilizers and synthetic insecticides. Another problem is the lack information of soil insects contained in agricultural ecosystems Brantas Watershed Sumberejo Batu.The research aims to determine of the spesies, parameters of ecology, species diversity index, and evenness index contained in agricultural ecosystems Brantas Watershed Sumberejo Batu. This research used descriptive quantitative research. This research carried out in the morning with the plot method(squares) and using Pitfalls Trap. Datawere collected by direct observation of the population investigated. The results showed that soil insects were found to consist of a species Pheidole capellinii, Iridomyrmex sp, Pachycondyla sp, Camponotus sp, Monomorium sp, Pheropsophus occipital, Gabrius sp, dan Teleogryllus siamensis. Soil insect of ecology parametersare: (1) density ranged from 4,15 ind/m2 – 27,26 ind/m2, relative density between 0,01-0,09, The highest density of species is  Pheidole capellinii, and lowest is Monomorium sp. (2) frequency ranged between 0,15-0,63, the relative frequency ranged from 0,04-0,16 with the highest frequency value of species is Pheidole capellinii  0,94, and lowest is Monomorium sp. 0,06. (3) the highest Importance Index Valueof species is Pheidole capellinii 0,25, the lowest is Monomorium sp. 0,06. Index of diversity values Shannon wiener (H') of 0,73 or categories is very low diversity values. Index of Evenness(E) is 0,33 which means that the population tends to be unevenor low(E <0.4). Keywords: soil insects, agriculturalecosystems, community structure.
