Abstract

Degenerative thoraco-lumbar fractures are structural and functional changes that occur in the thoracal and lumbar vertebrae regions. The degenerative process that occurs as a result of the aging process in each individual is different, as well as in the spinal region. The type of data used in this study is secondary data obtained through medical records conducted by researchers at the Semen Padang Hospital Medical Record Unit, the data includes variables of age, gender, occupation, smoking status, BMI, level of thoraco-lumbar fracture, mean VAS postoperative decompression and stabilization at Semen Padang Hospital. The research was conducted in December 2021 until completion which includes the preparation and reporting stages. This research is a form of analytical study with a cross sectional design. The affordable population was postoperative decompression and stabilization surgery patients in 2019 as many as 30 patients with a total sampling technique. Univariate data analysis is presented in the form of frequency distribution and percentage and data processing using computerized SPSS version 24.0 program. And the results of this study explain that based on the characteristics of the patient's risk factors, the most age is the early elderly 46-55 years, namely 10 people (33.3%), the most gender is female, namely 16 people (53.3%), occupation, which most people are not lifting weights, namely 22 people (73.3%), smoking status is not smoking, namely 24 people (80.0%) and the highest BMI is normal (≥18.5 - <24.9) which is 19 people (63.3%). The highest number of damage levels were 1 and 2 damage levels, respectively, which were 14 people (46.7%). The most pain based on VAS was mild pain, namely 12 people (40.0%). There was a significant effect of the number of levels of damage on the pain scale in postoperative decompression and stabilization patients at Semen Padang Hospital (p= 0.021), and there was a significant effect of the number of levels of damage on the level of post operative decompression and stabilization pain in degenerative thoraco-lumbar fracture patients in Semen Padang Hospital

Abstract

Plastic waste management is a never-ending problem, besides the increasing use of plastic-based materials in various places, is one of the main points that must be immediately eliminated so that the volume of plastic waste accumulation can be suppressed as small as possible. This study uses the school action method with a Research and Development approach, and the results of this previous study explain that the management of plastic waste in the SMP Negeri 23 Pekanbaru school environment through the ecobrick method has been successfully applied, the students and the teacher utilize the plastic waste into products. which have high value, for example, such as tables, benches, pots and several other school tools, the solution is considered very appropriate to be applied to students because in addition to reducing the accumulation of plastic waste in the school environment, it turns out that the ecobrick method can also be used as a learning medium. new to the students. The results of the application of other ecobrick methods can be seen from the construction of school facilities called literacy parks, and the literacy corner where the entire material framework comes from plastic waste that exists in the school environment and is successfully recycled in a simple way, to produce something that is useful, especially in terms of handling plastic waste and developing students' abilities through the ecobrick method

Abstract

The Scoring system developed by the Indonesian childhood tuberculosis working group is an alternative way to clinically diagnose TB in children especially in primary health care, however, bacteriological confirmation using gene-Xpert MTB/RIF is still highly recommended. To compare childhood TB scoring system performance and gene-Xpert MTB/RIF results among children suspected of tuberculosis in primary health care. This study was conducted on 47 children who went to the primary health care facility. The design of this study was a cross-sectional study with a conformity test (kappa). Samples that meet the inclusion criteria are recorded in the form of age, gender, weight, height, nutritional status, previous history of BCG vaccination, and physical examination, then the data is entered into the scoring system. Sputum is obtained by induction and then examined using gene-Xpert. The number of boys and girls suspected of having pulmonary TB is almost the same. About 72% of children experience malnutrition and a positive BCG score is found in more than half of the samples. There were 51.1% of children in contact with positive smear adult TB patients. Based on the scoring system obtained a TB diagnosis of 74.5% whereas based on gene-Xpert MTB/RIF examination only 4.3% of children confirm TB. There is no match between the two (conformity test with the kappa values of -0.01 and suitability 0.397). There is no compatibility in making a diagnosis of pediatric tuberculosis between the scoring system and gene-Xpert MTB/RIF at the primary health care facility.

Abstract

Dragon scales (Drymoglossum piloselloides L. Presl) is a plant that has antibacterial activity against the bacteria Propionibacterium acnes and Staphylococus aureus, Bacillus subtilis, Escherichia coli, and Streptococcus pneumonia. The content of compounds that act as antibacterial are saponins, polyphenols, essential oils, sterols / triterpenes, phenols, flavanoids, sugars and tannins. This study aims to make a formula of dragon scales ethanol extract gel against the growth of propionibacterium acnes bacteria. The method used in this study was experimental laboratory. The formulation of dragon scales ethanol extract gel is made with a concentration variation of 5%, 10%, 15%. Antibacterial activity test is carried out with diffusion agar.

Abstract

The use of hand antiseptics in the form of gel preparations which are more popular with the namepreparations hand sanitizer usually contain antiseptics in the form of synthetic chemicals which are relatively expensive and often cause skin health problems, such as dry skin. The leaves of the neem plant and aloe vera gel have been shown to be able to treat several diseases, one of which is being able to be a companion drug for antibacterial treatment. The method used in this research is experimental method because it is intended to determine the effect or relationship between the independent variables called treatment factors, namely thegel formulation Hand Sanitizer from a combination of neem leaves and aloe vera gel with concentrations of 5%, 10%, and 15%, with the dependent variable called the observation factor, namely the test. Organoleptic, pH, homogeneity, dispersion test, irritation test and antibacterial activity tes. The results obtained from this study are that neem leaf ethanol extract and aloe vera gel can be formulated intopreparations hand sanitizer gelwith concentrations of 5%, 10% and 15%, with homogeneous preparations, pH around 6.68-7.03, with dispersion ranges from 4.4cm - 5.5 cm, and stable at 4 weeks of storage.. Results preparations hand sanitizers containing ethanol extract of neem leaves 15% provides a strong barrier against Staphylococcus aureus was 13.80 ± 0.29 mm.
