Abstract

Stunting is a condition of growth failure that occurs in children under five due to chronic malnutrition so that children look short at their age. There are many factors that cause stunting, including maternal knowledge and attitudes. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between maternal knowledge and attitudes with the incidence of stunting in toddlers. The method used in this study was a cross sectional study with the research subjects were mothers who had babies 1-5 years old in Liwuto Village, Kokalukuna Subdistrict, Baubau City. Data analysis used chi-square for knowledge variables and Fisher's Exact for attitude variables. The results of this study showed that the incidence of stunting among toddlers was 64.3%. Based on bivariate analysis of the relationship between maternal knowledge and the incidence of stunting, the value of p < 0.05 (p = 0.024) and bivariate analysis of the relationship between maternal attitudes and the incidence of stunting, the value of p < 0.05 (p = 0.019). The results of this study indicate that there is a significant relationship between the level of knowledge and attitudes of mothers with the incidence of stunting in toddlers in Liwuto Village, Kokalukuna Subdistrict, Baubau City.

Abstract

Counseling is a very important aspect of family planning (KB) services. By doing counseling, it means that the officer helps in choosing and deciding the type of contraception to be used according to the client's choice. An estimated 225 million women in developing countries wish to delay or terminate fertility but do not use any contraceptive method due to limited choice of contraceptive method and experience of side effects. The SIPALING KB Mobile Website is a development of a family planning counseling method that can be accessed easily anytime and anywhere by prospective family planning acceptors using only a smartphone. In its design, SIPALING KB has a knowledge base for a particular domain and is designed based on a problem-solving model from an expert, making it easier for users to obtain information and determine early on which contraceptive method to use. The purpose of this research is to develop a counseling system through a mobile website with the name SIPALING KB which will assist prospective acceptors in determining which contraception to use. The research method used in this study was an experimental method with a randomized control group pretest-posttest design. Abstract

The main task of the midwifery profession is to support the reduction of the Infant Mortality Rate (IMR) through quality midwifery services. The midwife's job is not only as an implementer of midwifery services, but also as a manager, researcher, and educator in the community. This study aims to determine the relationship between the workload of midwives and the infant mortality rate in the work area of ​​the Jember District Health Center. The research method used is descriptive correlation with cross sectional time approach. The population in this study were midwives at the primary health care Jenggawah, Ajung, and Kemuningsari Kidul. The sample in this study used a total population of 35 midwives who worked in three health centers in Jember Regency. The instrument used in this study used a questionnaire and observation. Data analysis using Chi-Square statistical test. The results of the study showed that the workload was mostly in the heavy category of 19 respondents (54.3%). Most of the infant mortality rates were classified as high, 20 cases (57.1%). The results of the Chi-Square test obtained P Value = 0.000 (α: 0.05) there is a relationship between the work of midwives and the high infant mortality rate. So it can be said that there is a significant relationship between the workload of midwives and the infant mortality rate in the work area of ​​the Jember District Health Center. Advice for midwives is the need for effective and constructive self-management, because the heavy workload of midwives can be effectively controlled and can prevent the increasing infant mortality rate.

Abstract

Continuity of care (CoC) is a midwifery service through a continuous service model for women throughout pregnancy, childbirth, postpartum and family planning. The design used is a quasi experiment with the Posttest-Only Control Design method. The sample size was 208 postpartum women divided into two groups. The group that was assisted was 104 respondents and the control group was 104 respondents. The statistical test used was the Mann Whitney test. Result: the majority of respondents were at reproductive age (74,6%), most respondents were 2-3 times gravida (58,33%), there were 46 (19,16%) postpartum women who experienced problems and complications. The most postpartum problems and complications were nipple blisters, there were 27 postpartum women (11.3%), there is a significant difference between complications and danger signs of puerperium between groups given continuous care and those not given continuous care (p = 0.000). Conclusion : Continuity of care affects the health of postpartum women. Postpartum complications and danger signs can be minimized because if there are postpartum complications and danger signs, they have been detected from the beginning of the postpartum period.

Abstract

Stunting (dwarf / short) is a condition that inhibits growth and development in toddlers. Parents have an important role in caring for children with stunting by routinely checking at the Posyandu. The purpose of the study was to identify the experience of parents in caring for children with stunting in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic in Laha Village, Teluk Ambon District, Ambon City. This type of research is qualitative with the interview method. The informants of this study were the parents of children suffering from stunting. The results showed that most of the informants said that they came to the posyandu to weigh and measure TB, most of the informants said they had difficulty bringing children to the posyandu by wearing masks and avoiding crowds, while 1 out of 7 informants did not come to the posyandu because children were susceptible to being exposed to Covid-19. 19. All of the informants said that in order for children to be monitored for their growth, to receive stunting treatment, to know the lack of children and parenting patterns, almost all of the informants said that in monitoring the growth of children, they had to take their children to the posyandu in order to find out their weight and TB. Only 1 out of 7 mothers bought a TB and BB measuring device. All informants said that the obstacle they experienced was the absence of a tool to measure TB and BB. All of the informants said that the children got enough food, but the fulfillment of protein from fish was still rarely given. Based on the results of the study, most of the informants continued to come to the posyandu, almost all of the informants monitored the growth of children at the posyandu in order to find out their weight and TB, and all of the informants said that the children got enough food. Further research is expected so that informants can provide information in Indonesian so that readers can better understand.

Abstract

Picky eater is a difficult eating behavior in children by refusing to eat (neophobia), consuming a limited variety of food types, refusing foods that are not liked, and only eating foods they like. Picky eaters in preschool children who last long and continuously have a negative impact on the fulfillment of nutrition and nutrition in children. Maternal parenting is one of the external factors that influence the incidence of picky eaters. Objective: To determine the relationship between maternal parenting and the incidence of picky eaters in pre-school children at Tunas Harapan Kindergarten, Winduraja Village. Methods: The research method is quantitative with cross sectional research design. The sampling technique is total sampling, namely all mothers who have 34 pre-school children. The research instrument was a questionnaire sheet. Data analysis using univariate and bivariate analysis with chi square statistical test. Research results: The highest frequency of maternal parenting is the permissive category as many as 17 people (50.0%). The incidence of picky eaters in preschool children, the highest frequency is experiencing picky eaters as many as 20 people (58.8%). Static test results with chi square test obtained a value of р = 0.000 < α = 0.05 (5%). Conclusion: There is a relationship between maternal parenting and the incidence of picky eaters in preschool children at Tunas Harapan Kindergarten, Winduraja Village with a statistical test p value < α. It is expected that parents, especially mothers, can understand and apply the correct and appropriate parenting, for example, providing a variety of foods so that children do not get bored quickly and have a good appetite.

Abstract

Nausea and vomiting occur in 60-80% of primigravidas and 40-60% occur in multigravidas (Mahdika, 2016). Nausea and vomiting in pregnant women if not treated immediately will result in a very weak mother's body, pale face and decreased frequency of urination so that body fluids decrease and blood becomes thick (hemoconcentration). This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the combination of aromatherapy and acupressure at point P6 (Nei Guan) for emesis gravidarum at the Waara Health Center, Muna Regency. The design of this study used the Pretest-Posttest with control design. The study design used pre- and post-tests in the intervention group (pregnant women with emesis gravidarum who were given a combination of aromatherapy and acupressure at point P6) in the control group (pregnant women with emesis gravidarum who were given acupressure at point P6). The bivariate test obtained a value of 0.001, namely α> 0.05 so that Ha was accepted, namely there was an effect of giving a combination of point P6 acupressure with Lemon aromatherapy on emesis gravidarum in primiparous women.

Abstract

The smooth production of breast milk is one of the supports for the fulfillment of nutritional intake, especially for infants. One of the efforts made by postpartum mothers to smooth breast milk production is by initiating early breastfeeding (IMD). The purpose of the study was to analyze the relationship between IMD and the smoothness of breast milk in postpartum breastfeeding mothers at Temu Waras Primary Clinic. The design of this study was correlative research with a cross-sectional approach. The population in this study were all postpartum breastfeeding mothers at Temu Waras Primary Clinic as many as 40 people. The sample size in this study amounted to 40 people taken by Accidental sampling. Data collection using a questionnaire then the data was processed using SPSS using the chi square test. The results of data analysis showed that Early Breastfeeding Initiation at Temu Waras Primary Clinic most of the respondents did early breastfeeding initiation as many as 28 people (70%) and Breast Milk Fluency at Temu Waras Primary Clinic most of the breast milk was fluent as many as 22 people (55%). Based on the chi square test, the significance value (Asymp. Sig) is 0.002 <0.05, meaning that ho is rejected and ha is accepted, so there is a relationship between IMD and breast milk fluency in postpartum breastfeeding mothers at Temu Waras Primary Clinic. It is recommended that mothers continue breastfeeding until the baby is 6 months old

Abstract

Family support is the attitude, action, acceptance of the family towards the individual and willing to provide assistance so as to provide a sense of physical and psychological security to the individual in everyday life. Family support has a great effect on the quality of life of the elderly. The elderly who live with their families become a source of support that gives importance to the lives of the elderly. The purpose of this study is to analyze the relationship between Family Support and Quality of Life for the Elderly at Pintubatu Village, Silaen District at 2022. The research method used was a correlation research design with a Cross Sectional approach. Sampling technique with simple random sampling technique with the number of respondents 72 people. The study uses research instruments based on WHOQOL-BREF. The results showe that the majority of family support supported as many as 66 people (91,7%), and the quality of life of the majority was sufficient as many as 54 people (75,0%). The statistical test results of the Spearman Rank test with a p value of 0.000 (p <0.05) indicate that there is a relationship between Family Support and Quality of Life for the Elderly. It is expected that families can maintain and improve personal/social relationships in the elderly so that family support and quality of life in the elderly are in good categories.
