Abstract

This research aimed to know and to calculate the income of fresh seafood retailers in the Flamboyan Market, to analize the effects (capital, bussiness experience and education level. This research was conducted in December 2019. The method used within this research was survey method. There were 12 respondents as ritailers used within this research. The result of the research showed that the income range of ritailers was IDR Rp 2.130,000,- until IDR 9.740,000,-  and there are 3 ritailers who have income under  Kampar Regency’s UMR in 2009, namely IDR 2.719,000 . From the three variables analyzed, it can be seen that capital (X1), business experience (X2) and education level (X3) have regression coefficients (bi), namely (0.568), (0.706) and (0.129). The standard error of the independent variables ( Sbi) for that capital (X1), business experience (X2) and education level (X3) are (0.245), (0.292) and (0.262). This shows that the relationship between capital (X1), business experience (X2) and education level (X3) on the income of fresh marine fish retailers (Y) is unidirectional (positive). This means that with the increase in capital, Business Experience and Education Level will increase the income of fresh marine fish retailers.

Abstract

Sumatera is one of the largest mangrove areas in Indonesia. One of the mangrove plants that have the potential as a drug and has been used traditionally is Xylocarpus granatum. This study was conducted to determine the influence of methanol extract from leaf X. granatum in inhibiting the growth of Staphylococcus epidermidis. Extraction of leaf X. granatum is done by the maceration method using methanol solvent. Test resistance of methanol extracts from the leaves of X. granatum is performed by a method of diffusion discs. Measurement of antibacterial activity is carried out with several treatments i.e. the negative control (aquadest), positive control (Chloramphenicol), and several different extract concentrations of 25ppm, 50ppm, 75ppm, and 100ppm. The value of the antibacterial activity is then analyzed further using ANOVA and the Dunn test. The results showed that the leaves extract X. granatum extracted using a methanol solvent contained active phytochemicals compounds such as steroids, saponins, tannins, and phenols. The test results of each extract concentration showed a significant influence on the slow growth of S. epidermidis, characterized by the formation of a clear zone around the disc. The highest antibacterial activity is shown at a concentration of 25ppm with an antimicrobial index value of 3,55 which is categorized as a strong antibacterial response.

Abstract

The pattern of antibiotic consumption by the community which is carried out independently without medical guidance causes antibiotic pollution has reached sea waters, one of its impacts on the nature of bacterial resistance. This study aims to look at the pattern of antibiotic sensitivity to E coli that isolated from Dumai sea waters. E coli isolates that grown on MHA media were tested based on the Kirby Bauer disk diffusion method. Seventeen isolates were identified, among which a high rate of resistance to penicillin, isoniazid and streptomycin (17), a high rate of resistance to chloramphenicol (5), intermediate susceptibility to chloramphenicol (11) and only 1 sensitive to chloramphenicol. The multiple antibiotic resistance (MAR) index of E coli isolates was 0.82. These show that antibiotics like penicillin, isoniazid, streptomycin and chloramphenicol were not suitable antibiotic for E coli infection treatment. The community is expected to be more disciplined in using antibiotics and to be careful in using the Dumai sea for fishery activities
