Abstract

Gumantar Village is one of the villages in North Lombok Regency which has quite good potential in the agriculture and plantation sectors. One of the agricultural products in Gumantar Village is Cashew seeds. The community of Gmumantar Village is not yet optimal in terms of cashew nut processing. Cashew seed products harvested through plantations are sold in raw condition to collectors. Penagbdian activities to the community aims to increase the sale value of processed cashew seed products in Gumantar Village, North Lombok Regency. The increase in selling value is done by processing cashew seeds into ready-to-eat food products. The method of activities carried out is by conducting surveys, training, assistance and evaluation. Partners in community service activities are community groups that are part of the "Cashew series" cashew processing group in Guantar Village, North Lomok Regency. The results that have been achieved from this activity are increased public knowledge about how to process cashews into cashews to increase family income. Cashew seeds sold in raw conditions can now be processed into products that have a higher economic value. The name of the product produced in this community service is "Gumantar Cashew Nuts".

Abstract

Agricultural land in Kayangan Village is mostly dry land with relatively low productivity and diversification of food production, which affects the income and supply of food that is not diverse and nutritious that affects the nutritional status of all family members and threatens household food security. However, the average household has a fairly large yard, which if properly designed and managed, will be able to meet the family's own food and nutrition needs, also has the opportunity to increase household income. The potential of the plots in the village of Heaven has not been managed properly, due to the low awareness of the importance of their plots, lack of knowledge and skills regarding proper yard management techniques to meet food and nutrition needs and family income. To overcome these problems, innovation technology transfer has been carried out through the development of environmentally friendly horticultural crops in optimizing the use of the yard to meet the nutritional needs and family income. Counseling and training / demonstration plots have been carried out during June-December 2019. Community service activities are considered quite successful in terms of the enthusiasm and perseverance of the participants in participating in this mentoring activity. The results of the demonstration plot showed a significant increase both in crop productivity and plant diversity that can be cultivated on the plots. Ongoing assistance from all parties, especially the local government, is expected to sustainably develop yard use to increase food availability and fulfill family nutrition, increase income and household food security of dry land farmers.

Abstract

Bananas are tropical fruit commodities that are very popular and have a high potential to be managed intensively and agribusiness oriented. Banana plants have many benefits for human needs so that they have high economic value. Bananas can play a role as food substitutes containing calories, protein, carbohydrates, fats, vitamins, and minerals that are needed by the human body. The potential development of bananas is quite significant because it has broad adaptability to various agro-climate zones and has excellent potential for commercial growth as an export commodity. The market potential abroad is enormous and continues to increase. The domestic market's potential also increased due to rising levels of income and quality of life. There are many obstacles to increasing domestic banana production. Besides, processed banana products have not optimally produced as a source of livelihood and community income. This PKM partner business group has prospective business potential to be developed, because the banana and processed banana-based market is enormous, both at local and national levels. The banana production business that has developed has not been economically productive due to various limitations and constraints on land availability. In such conditions, bananas have cultivated as inserted plants. However, these two farmer groups have the potential to be productive farmer groups. The introduction of shade-tolerant bananas can be a solution for increasing banana production on limited land through the intercropping system. While the introduction of improvements to the processing and packaging system of Dempok bananas can improve the added value and quality of the products produced

Abstract

Due to the increasing use of inorganic fertilizers and pesticides, the prototype of the onion seed bulb known as the Ampenan Cultivar, its superiority has been declining from year to year. This phenomenon is characterized by the increasing size of the seed bulbs reaching 400-500 cloves kg-1 (while the size of normal seed tubers is 700-800 cloves kg-1), is less dense, has no breath, and grows less than 95%. Actions taken to overcome these problems are, training and direct field guidance through demonstration plots on efforts to increase the quantity and quality of onion seed tuber production by applying repeated clone selection techniques, optimal application of organic soil improvement materials and regulation of intercropping cropping patterns between shallots with peanut plants as an antidote to pest and disease infections. Based on the evaluation of all activities, the results obtained from the implementation of this program are: The target farmers attending the training and demonstration plot implementation were very enthusiastic. The appropriate technology that was introduced can be well received because it gives higher results and benefits compared to conventional businesses that have been undertaken so far. More benefits are gained by applying this integrated ecological farming model because, very little is needed for fertilizers and pesticides, weeding is easier, irrigation is efficient and farmers get additional products from peanut products. Besides being able to provide added value economically, agronomically the legume crop is very beneficial because it can protect plants from pest, weeds and diseases and restore soil fertility for sustainable farming.

Abstract

Amorphophallus oncophyllus Prain (porang) is a recently introduced commodity as a cultivated plant in Lombok Island. One of the farmer groups that has adopted the porang plant is the Suli Bakong Ganda Farmer Group in Sambik Elen Village, Bayan District, North Lomok. Kelompok Tani are smallholders in agroforestry systems that are not yet agribusiness oriented. The priority issues for strengthening the capacity of farmer groups related to the development of porang as a new source of income are: (i) farmers' limited knowledge of porang cultivation techniques based on conservation agriculture principles, including mastery of nursery techniques (ii) they need good partners for technical assistance for cultivation, access to capital and market partners (iii) they do not fully understand the value added prospects of porang tuber processing. A solution to this problem is urgently needed so that farmer groups are more optimistic about managing porang agroforestry as a new source of sustainable income. Therefore, empowerment activities have been carried out using the “Modified Participatory Research” (MPAR) method through extension activities, training and building independent demonstration plots by applying the principles of conservation agriculture. The achievements of this service were (i) The knowledge of farmer group members on the principles of conservation agriculture in the porang-agroforestry system has increased (85%) and mastery of porang nursery techniques with cut bulbs with mixed potting media (manure and biochar) (ii) Target partners be able to propagate porang seedlings using the cut bulb technique and believe that this technique is effective to be applied (iii) Farmer groups are willing to carry out an independent demonstration plot for the application of conservation agriculture in porang agroforestry land in the rainy season 2020/2021. This area was guided by the Department of Soil Science FP UNRAM as a field laboratory to support the Merdeka Learning-Merdeka Campus (MB-KM) curriculum
