Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the use of power point media on motivation and Indonesian language learning outcomes in rhyme writing skills for students in elementary schools in Kemranjen District, Banyumas Regency. The research method used is the Pre-Experimental Design with the One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The population used was all fifth-grade students at SD Negeri Gugus Dwijo Utomo, Kemranjen District, while the sample was fifth grade students at SDN 1 Sibrama using random sampling technique. Data on learning outcomes used the results of students' Indonesian pretest and posttest. Data analysis used the t-test technique (independent sample t-test) with the SPSS 26 application. Data collection regarding learning motivation was carried out through observation and questionnaires. Retrieval of data using a questionnaire, the scale used is the Likert scale. The results of the analysis using the t-test technique (independent sample t-test) show that the significance value is 0.004 or <0.05, which means that Ho is rejected, which means that the power point has a positive effect on students' Indonesian learning outcomes. Meanwhile, the calculation on the Likert scale shows that the evaluation interval for the presence or absence of the influence of PowerPoint media on students' learning motivation is 75%. This indicates that 75% of students agree that learning using power point has a positive effect on students' learning motivation.

Abstract

This article reports part of a bigger scale study aiming at investigating the current gap in Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) through whole institutional approach integrating sustainable development application and the relationship to achieving aim of Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) in Malaysia. The study that involves mixed-research method is intended to improve the role of HEIs as a vehicle towards Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the nation by 2050 according to 12th Malaysian Plan. In this preliminary stage, only qualitative case study will be reported on how a conceptual framework is developed to bridge the gap of ‘Education and Business’ (abbreviated as E-B) with focus on the need to cultivate the practice of SDG in all disciplines including institutional management of HEIs. In the advent of digital era, globalization and digitalization are connecting the world. It is expected that the development of conceptual framework will serve as planning guide for the proponent or researcher of this study, university administrators and sustainability practitioners who are expected to explore appropriate ways to integrate sustainability into institutional missions, strategies, curriculum and daily operations

Abstract

This study investigates the application of blended learning using the Google Classroom in EFL teaching and learning in the "new normal" era of the COVID-19 pandemic. The research also examines the teachers' perceptions and the obstacles they encountered while applying the Google Classroom for blended learning. The study is a mixed-method survey. As many as thirty-eight English teachers from 25 schools in the town of Wonosobo, Indonesia, participated in the study. They were recruited on a purposive sampling basis. Close-ended questionnaires and interviews were used to collect the data. The finding has revealed that the teachers' perception of using blended learning through the Google Classroom is 83%, falling into the category "Extremely Effective." This result indicated that the Google Classroom is beneficial for teaching-learning activities and effective for student learning outcome. Students could access the teacher-provided learning resources anytime and from any location. However, utilizing the Google Classroom is not obstacles free, with an average of 78% belonging to a "high" difficulty level. Furthermore, the finding has shown that teaching and learning activities using the Google Classroom continue to confront hurdles such as data quota, internet access, and restrictions imposed by the Google Classroom features.

Abstract

Quizizz is a digital platform that is currently often used in learning activities. This application can be used as an alternative fun learning media for students. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of Quiziz media on students' motivation and learning achievement in social studies learning. This study uses a quasi-experimental quantitative. The population for this study were junior high schools in the sub-rayon 1 area of Banyumas, while the samples were SMP Negeri 5 Purwokerto, SMP Negeri 7 Purwokerto dan SMP Muhammadiyah 2 Purwokerto. The sampling technique used purposive sampling with the consideration that the school is still in the working area of the researcher so that it makes it easier to do research. The results of this study on learning achievement showed that there was an interaction between groups and pre post scores (F= 6.549; sig < 0.05). It can be seen that there is a difference at the 5% level (t=4.192; p<0.05). This means that the experimental group has a significant change compared to the control group. The treatment given to the experimental group was declared successful. Based on the results of the effect size on cohens d, a point estimate value of 0.630 is obtained. This means that the effective contribution of giving treatment in increasing scores in the experimental group is 63%. As for student learning motivation, the results of the calculation are proven by the significance reference t test (0.001) <0.05, then H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted. This means that there are significant differences in student motivation between the control class and the experimental class. This shows that there is an effect of using Quizizz media on student learning motivation. Based on the results of the study it can be concluded that using Quizizz can encourage students' motivation in learning. so, students who are motivated in learning will be able to improve their learning achievement.

Abstract

The study on the implementation of the Jurisprudential Inquiry Model (JIM) has been conducted at SDN Naioni 1, Kupang, Indonesia. This study will describe the model for implementing JIM to improve social skills and student learning outcomes using the classroom action research method following the McTaggart and Kemmis models on the 29 students. As a result, cycle I showed an increasing value of 2.57% to 3.33% in the sufficient and good categories, respectively. On the other hand, the social skills of students in social studies learning during the learning process showed an increasing value of 2.54% to 3.45% with good and outstanding categories, respectively. These results also affect the Minimum Completeness Criteria in cycle II. In conclusion, we propose implementing the jurisprudential inquiry model to improve fourth-grade students' social skills and learning outcomes at SD Negeri 1 Naioni Kota Kupang.

Abstract

The Role-Playing learning model is a learning model designed by the teacher by assigning students to play a character in the material or events expressed in the form of simple stories to produce various forms of learning outcomes. The learning outcomes of Muhammadiyah 2 Elementary School students, Kupang, are still relatively low so it is necessary to apply learning models to improve learning outcomes. This study aimed to determine the effect of the Role-Playing Learning Model Assisted by Flipbook Media to Improve Student Learning Outcomes in theme of 6 My Goals Class of fourth grade at Muhammadiyah 2 Elementary School at Kupang City in the Academic Year of 2022/2023. The research method used was a pretest-posttest control group design. The research population was all fourth grade students at Muhammadiyah 2 Elementary School, with total 61 students consisting of two classes, namely Class of fourth grade B and C for 30 and 31 students, respectively. The research sample was 30 students from class of fourth grade B as the experimental class, while 31 students from class fourth grade C were used as the control class. The data collection tool uses objective tests. The data obtained were analyzed using descriptive statistical and inferential statistics to determine the normality test, homogeneity, and t-test to test the hypothesis. Data were analyzed using SPSS Version 22.0 For windows. The results of independent t-test calculations obtained a sig value of 0.000 <0.05, so the hypothesis Ho was rejected, and Ha was accepted. Moreover, it can be concluded that there is an influence of the role-playing learning model assisted by flipbook media to improve student learning outcomes on theme 6 of my ideals for class of fourth grade at Muhammadiyah 2 Elementary School, Kupang City in the Academic Year of 2022/2023.
