Abstract

The decision support system is a system that can provide problem-solving abilities and communication skills for problems with semi-structured and unstructured conditions, such as determining which employees deserve a bonus. The decision-making process is a frequent occurrence and is at the core of activities at PT Perta Arun Gas, one of which is to determine bonuses for employees by calculating the average value of criteria for each employee, not counting the values of related criteria. The system designed is a decision-making system to determine employees who get bonuses using the Analytic Network Process (ANP) method, this ANP method can calculate the related criteria values. ANP is a method that accommodates the relationship between criteria and alternatives. The criteria used are, professional at work, politeness (behavior), presence, loyalty (a sense of ownership of employees towards the company), responsibility, cleanliness tidiness, and discipline. The test results indicate that this system can solve the problem of determining the distribution of bonuses to employees so that it can help in selecting employees who receive the bonus.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the physical properties of titania (TiO2) by adding arabic gum surfactants to obtain stable nanofluid. Nano titania fluid preparation was carried out by dispersing titania nanoparticles and arabic gum in a homogenizer for 3 hours with particle variations in fraction volume and arabic gum surfactant concentration. The study was carried out by varying the volume of the particle fraction at 0.1%; 0.2%; 0.3%; 0.4% and 0.5% and arabic gum surfactant concentrations at 1%; 2%; 3%; 4%; and 5%. Measurements are also made at a temperature variation of 30 OC; 40 OC; and 50 OC. Measurement of physical properties is carried out by measuring the properties of electrical conductivity, density, viscosity, and stability of titania nanofluid. The measurement results indicate that the higher the concentration of surfactant and the volume fraction of particles, the electrical conductivity, density, and viscosity of nano titania fluid is increasing. Increased temperature will reduce the viscosity of titania nanofluid.

Abstract

The study of papaya leaf extract as a carbon steel corrosion inhibitor in a crude oil environment has been investigated using a weight-loss method. The effects of papaya leaf extract concentrations and immersion time have been employed to investigate the corrosion rate, with a variation of papaya leaf extract concentrations of 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 % volume and immersion time of 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 hours. The results showed that increasing papaya leaf extract concentrations decreased the corrosion rate of carbon steel in a crude oil environment. While the increase of immersion time enhances the carbon steel corrosion rate in a crude oil environment. The lowest rate of corrosion obtained was 4.0152 mpy using papaya leaf extract concentration of 5 % volume at 5 hours immersion time. The inhibition efficiency also increased with increasing concentrations of papaya extract and immersion time. The highest inhibition efficiency was 65.54% at the concentration of papaya leaf extract 5% vol. at 5 hours immersion time.

Abstract

This study aims to increase geraniol levels in citronella oil, using vacuum distillation. Geraniol is a compound that has been legalized by IFRA (Fragrance International Association) as a scent compound, so geraniol is a reference to be formulated in the form of Anti-bacterial perfume products, but the levels of geraniol in citronella oil are still very low. This encourages the processing of fragrant citronella oil to be processed, by increasing geraniol levels using vacuum distillation, with variations in pressure: 8,6,4,2,1 mbar, during operating times: 20, 40, and 60 minutes up to FBP ( Final Boiling Point). Samples were analyzed using GC-MS (Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry), FT-IR, refractive index, and bacterial testing. The results showed that the use of low pressure affected increasing geraniol levels. The maximum increase in geraniol content was 80.11% at a pressure of 1 mbar at the Final Boiling Point operation, with a refractive index of 1.501, whereas in the FTIR test there was an intense broad peak in the range 2200-3200 cm-1 especially at 3086.98cm-1 according to the OH hydroxyl polymer group at Geraniol. This study increased geraniol levels from 20.32% to 80.11%.

Abstract

This paper investigates a method for regulating the voltage profile and reducing the voltage unbalance at low voltage (LV) residential feeders with single-phase rooftop photovoltaic (PV) installed randomly along with the feeders. The used algorithm considers the distribution transformers that have on-load tap changers (OLTC) and can automatically control the voltage to prevent voltage rise in the feeder. MATLAB-based simulation results demonstrate the effectiveness of the discussed approaches.

Abstract

Naïve Bayes Classifier is one of the classification algorithms in Data Mining with a good processing speed and a fairly high level of accuracy. In the classification process the Naïve Bayes Classifier adopts the Bayesian theorem to map a data against a class by taking into account the probability of the attribute data, but because the Naïve Bayes Classifier makes probability the basis for its calculations, it is certainly very risk if it is wrong. If one class that is contained in the attribute has a value of 0, this will reduce the level of accuracy of the classification process carried out by the Naïve Bayes Classifier algorithm itself, therefore in this study the Laplacian Correction technique is used as an alternative to fix the problems that are owned by the Naïve Bayes Classifier Algorithm. The result of this research is that the Laplace Correction technique has succeeded in improving the performance of the Naïve Bayes Classifier by fixing the 0 value for each attribute. The level of accuracy that is owned by the Naïve Bayes Classifier after experiencing improvements with the Laplacian correction technique is 94.44%.

Abstract

This study aims to isolate the alcoholic patchouli from patchouli oil using a vacuum distillation method using vacuum distillation unit. The isolation process is conducted by varying vacuum pressure, distillate volume, and remaining residue volume. The vacuum pressure variated at 1, 1,5, 2, and 2,5 mmHg, distillate volume by 70, 80, and 90 ml, while remaining residue volume at 10, 20, and 30 ml. Samples were analyzed using GC-MS to determine the concentration of patchouli alcohol and analyzed using a pycnometer to determine its density. The results showed that the use of low pressure affected separating patchouli alcohol from patchouli oil. The highest patchouli alcohol content from the isolation results is 100% obtained in 10 ml of remaining residue volume at a pressure of 2 mmHg. This vacuum distillation method is quite effective.

Abstract

Vegetable oils obtained from nuts and seeds have superiority in terms of food. They have a distinctive taste and healthy nutritional content because they contain unsaturated fatty acids, carotenoids, and flavonoids. This study aims to improve the yield of pumpkin seed oil and compare it with SNI (3741-1995) concerning cooking oil. The extraction was carried out using the soxhlet method with a temperature of 68-70ºC using hexane as a solvent and a ratio of the solvent ratio (1: 6); (1: 8); (1:10); (1:12); (1:14) (w / v) and the amount of circulation used 15; 20; 25; 30; 35. After the extraction process is evaporated to evaporate the solvent and obtain concentrate at 70ºC. The results showed a yield of 56.40%. The oil produced has physical characteristics including Specific Gravity: 0.97 gr/ml, Water Content: 6%, Boiling Point: 210ºC, Acid Number 6 mg NaOH / g, Peroxide Number: 50 meq /O2 kg, Weaving Numbers 308.55 mg KOH / g, as well as the chemical characteristics of the test results: Based on chromatographic analysis it is known that the composition of fatty acids in pumpkin seed oil is dominated by Palmitic Acid (C: 16) of 16.6736; Linoleic Acid (C: 18-2) of 53.5392; Stearic Acid (C: 18) 29.7872%. But this pumpkin seed oil has not fulfilled SNI especially cooking oil (3741-1995).
