Abstract

The use of information technology is a necessity and a challenge in this 4th-millennium era. Companies that do not want to use technology that suits their needs will be left behind. The Indonesian government has also required the use of appropriate information technology. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the implementation of the Ministry of SOE Regulation No. Per 02 / MBU / 2013 concerning guidelines for the preparation of information technology management of State-Owned Enterprises (SOE) in the field of non-public finance and the implementation of risk management to SOEs that are moderated by corporate governance. The population in this study is State-Owned Enterprises (SOE) in the financial sector. The research sample of 17 SOEs was sampled with the purposive sampling method. The analysis technique used is multiple linear regression. The results showed that IT Governance does not affect firm performance. ERM significantly influences firm performance. Corporate governance that is proxied by the number of audit committee meetings does not moderate IT governance's influence on firm performance and does not mild ERM's effect on firm performance.

Abstract

The Compassion Fatigue concept is common in the scientific literature of International Social Work, although surprisingly nonexistent in Spanish literature. Fatigue can be defined by compassion as a state of exhaustion and biological, psychological and relational dysfunction, the result of immediate or prolonged exposure to compassionate stress and as the final result of the progressive and cumulative process resulting from pro-longed, continuous and intense contact with clients or clients patients, the use of oneself and exposure to stress. The maintenance of the wear can lead to severe pictures typical of secondary traumatization or the onset of Burned Professional Syndrome (Burnout). In any case, if a social work professional experiences this phenomenon, their ability to empathize, connect and help their clients is severely diminished. Paradoxically, compassion fatigue is, on the one hand, necessary and inevitable if good practice is developed; on the other, dangerous and disabling if it is not compensated by other mechanisms. Compassion fatigue can not be prevented but it can and must be palliated consciously. Increasing the ability to recognize and minimize the impact of attrition is a responsibility of the professional and the organization in which he works. Finally, the work raises what to do about this phenomenon and how to take care of yourself, professionally and institutionally.

Abstract

This research was conducted to find out how much influence the leadership and compensation have on the performance of the employees of PT Taiho Nusantara partially and simultaneously. The method used in this research is descriptive and verification. The population is all employees of PT Tiho Nusantara by taking 105 employee samples. The data collection techniques are through interviews, questionnaires and observations, and data analysis used Path Analysis. The results showed that the correlation between variables X1 and X2 obtained the magnitude of the correlation coefficient between the independent variables, namely the role of leadership (X1) with compensation (X2) can be valued at 0.875. Thus the role of leadership (X1) with compensation (X2) has a strong and two-way relationship because of its positive value. And for the influence of the leadership role variable (X1) on employee performance variables (Y) is 0.382. This shows that the direct influence of the leadership role variable (X1) on employee performance variables (Y) is 0.392 so that the equation Y = 0.382 X1 is obtained. And the results for the Compensation variable (X2) against employee performance variables (Y) are 0.587. This shows that the direct effect of the Compensation variable (X2) on employee performance (Y) is equal to 0.575 so that the equation Y = 0.587 X2 is obtained. Then the path of the storage role variable (0.382) is lower than the compensation variable (0.587), meaning that compensation (X2) has more influence on employee performance (Y). While the influence of leadership roles (X1) and compensation (X2) simultaneously (overall) on employee performance (Y) with the result that the value of sig. (0,000) <α (0.05) and tcount (379,050)> ftable (3.09) then Ho is rejected. Thus it can be concluded that the role of leadership and compensation simultaneously influences the performance of its employees.

Abstract

Research on the probability of default is always very interesting because it is related to the goals of companies that want to live on, this study aims to examine and analyze which variables are important in this study consisting of the audit committee and managerial ownership who are members of governance, as well as the R & D variables. In influencing the probability of default either directly or indirectly by using the mediating variable Current Ratio estimated results (CRh), to predict the probability of default. This study uses Multiple Discriminant Analysis (MDA) in determining the value of the default probability, while the estimation analysis uses two-stage regression. The regression estimation results conclude that the governance variable on the audit committee has no direct effect on the probability of default, while the CRh mediation becomes significant. The managerial ownership variable which is part of the governance variable has a significant effect both directly and indirectly through CRh mediation, as well as the R&D variable which also has a significant effect on the probability of default either directly or indirectly. This study produces a model in which CRh as a mediator can signal the probability of default on non-financial variables such as governance and R&D. The results of this study contribute to early detection of the probability of default of any non-financial variables that affect both governance and R&D. This model was developed to anticipate the occurrence of bankruptcy by detecting the probability of default by using non-financial variables with CRh as mediation which is supported by model tests with Hosmer-Lemeshow and ROC.

Abstract

This paper describes the regulation of Islamic economics and the urgency of its development, the post-reform Islamic economic, regulatory system, and analyzes the orientation of Indonesian Islamic economic regulation from a political economy perspective. This article's method is a descriptive analysis by analyzing political phenomena that occur in the formulation of Islamic economic regulations in post-reform Indonesia. This qualitative research uses literature studies. The development of Islamic financial regulation in Indonesia is relatively late when referring to Islamic finance development in other countries. This is related to the national political conditions, which are generally less responsive to institutions labeled Islamic. The dramatic changes in Indonesian politics since the fall of the Soeharto regime have made room for real democracy. Islamic banking regulation responds to the Islamic banking industry's development, which requires assurance of legal certainty and legal justice in a clear regulation. The increase in the role of the government in dealing with Islamic economic problems has a big role. According to Islam, economic policies must be supported by social responsibility, limited economic freedom by sharia, multi-ownership recognition, namely private ownership, state ownership, and a high work ethic. The interpretation and development of Islamic economic regulations can be richer and more important if it is based on concrete experiences of development in implementing Islamic economic regulations in Indonesia. In seeking economic laws in line with the rububiyah principle, practical experiences are material for validating Islamic economic laws.

Abstract

Migratory movements between the two shores of the Atlantic have been of great relevance, both due to their quantity and their heterogeneity, from the moment these territories came into contact. The constant flow of people, as well as goods and ideas in this oceanic environment, caused that in the second half of the 18th century the English and American republican circles strengthened their ties, with some women as notable activists. The English writer Catharine Macaulay (1731-1791), in addition to writing about the crucial events of the moment, crossed the ocean with the desire to be close and experience them in the first person. On the other hand, due to common interests, she maintained an intense epistolary relationship for more than twenty years with the American writer Mercy Otis Warren (1728-1814). Despite the limitations that they found in primarily male areas, such as history and politics, the contribution of these women was not limited to the expected support, but their concerns were reflected in some important writings for the Republican cause. Despite this and paradoxically, these revolutionary movements did not bring about significant changes in the situation and the rights of women.

Abstract

This study analyzes politics tradition in Sunn political thought in terms of exploring the problem of just ruling. In the relevant literature, the dominant approach considers Siyāsatnāmas as ethical advice in general and regards them as ineffective against an un-just ruler who has no ethical concern. This study criticizes this dominant view by claiming that in addition to the religious / ethical argument to promote a just rule, the Siyāsatnāma tradition develops a second argument designed specifically for an unjust ruler who ignores ethi-cal advice. This second argument is ignored by the dominant position about the Siyāsatnāma tradition. I have called it self-interest argument in this study. An unjust ruler's self interest is to maintain, empower, and hand down his power to his descendants. The self-interest argument tries to convince a ruler who dismisses ethical advice to adopt just ruling by revealing that even for an unjust ruler the best strategy is just ruling to reach for his worldly aims.

Abstract

The problem of waste management in big cities worldwide and especially Indonesia, has become an ongoing issue. Every country globally competes in developing various technologies in waste management, such as sanitary landfills, incineration, gasification, and anaerobic digestion technology. This study intends to describe the right model for waste management, especially for areas in Indonesia. In this case, the writer tries to discuss waste management innovation in Cilacap Regency by using a waste management policy implementation model with Refused Derived Fuel (RDF) technology, which converts waste into alternative fuel to replace coal. In this paper, the writer tries to analyze it with a descriptive design with a qualitative approach. Writing informants were determined by purposive sampling. The results of this study, according to the author, indicate that the implementation of RDF public policy on waste management can be carried out with several approaches, namely: (1) RDF Waste Management Policy Model with a Collaborative Waste Management Service approach; (2) RDF Waste Management Policy Model with the Buy and Sell Cooperation approach of RDF results; (3) RDF Waste Management Policy Model with a Joint Venture (JO) approach; (4) RDF waste management policy model with an Operational Cooperation approach with the presence of foreign assistance, the central government and provincial governments; (5) RDF waste management policy model with the formation of regional companies.

Abstract

Ship accidents create emergencies and affect victims, both physically and psychologically. Human error and extreme weather are still the main causes of ship accidents. The crew of the ship, especially the skipper, has an important role and responsibility in ensuring the safety and security of passengers while on the ship. This study is a phenomenology study that aimed to explore the experience of the sailboat crew in dealing with an emergency during an accident in Labuan Bajo, East Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia. Data collection using in-depth interviews with six crew members who have experienced accidents with tourist passengers. The interview result was recorded and transcribed by the researcher and data were then analysed using Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis (IPA) which consisted of six steps of analysis (Reading and re-reading, Initial Noting, Developing Emergent Themes, Searching for Connections Across Emergent Themes, Moving the Next Cases, and Looking for Patterns Across Cases). The results of this study indicate that the crew always tries to save passengers by utilizing the safety equipment available onboard. Although other results indicate that the crew felt that the ship accident was a disaster that occurred outside of the human will, or was not crew negligence.
