Abstract

Competition between the US and China over trade wars has a significant impact on many countries in the world, including ASEAN. The ASEAN region is a central market in the Pacific. Because of this competition, each Chinese export to the US will decrease by around 10%, and also reduce economic growth by 1.1% in ASEAN. This phenomenon raises significant questions about the role of ASEAN. This research paper will answer the purpose of ASEAN as a multilateral organization in balancing its interests amid a trade war. After that, this paper focuses on the topic of competition between the US and China related to the economy. This discussion is divided into two main points, first is about the trade war, and the second is the role of RCEP to build ASEAN economic balance. International cooperation on a liberal perspective is used to analyze the problems in this case. This paper argues that ASEAN seeks to encourage collaboration between its members to face the challenges of the US and China trade wars. Cooperation is the best way for ASEAN to see this phenomenon.

Abstract

The main problem of this regional autonomy research is the low competence of human resources in the New Autonomous Region of Pangandaran Regency, which is caused by its suboptimal implementation. The purpose of this study is to describe the implementation of regional autonomy and its impact. The method used is a qualitative approach with observation, interview and library study techniques. This study concludes that the implementation of regional autonomy in Pangandaran is not yet optimal. The positive impact of regional autonomy can increase the efficiency and responsiveness of government in public services with public preference, and arouse the spirit of competition and innovation among local governments. The negative impact, the quality of public services is low, due to the transfer of authority which is often misunderstood or misused so that adequate and formal supervision and control is needed both formally and informally as well as synergy between local, provincial and central governments.

Abstract

The development of financial technology arrived at a new form, namely cryptocurrency. The development of cryptocurrency with an increasingly widespread network and its autonomous nature cannot be controlled by the state, which makes China implement policies to block all domestic cryptocurrency activities. The policy becomes unnatural when China occupies the top position in the developing global digital currency market. This anomaly is interesting to study further to find reasons that motivate China to take firm policy when in a safe position as a center of production and global crypto currency transactions. To explain this reason, national interest theory and rational choice are used as the main tools in analyzing this problem. The national interest theory and rational choice explain that the policies taken by China are motivated by economic and security interests, as well as rational calculations of the advantages and disadvantages of those policies
