Abstract

The current pandemic period does not only have an impact on public health but also has an impact on the economic conditions, education and social life of the community. Therefore, the central and regional governments issue various policies that are preventive in the fields of economy, education and social life of the community. In world education issued a government policy of "distance learning" or online learning. This policy aims so that teaching and learning activities do not stop and students still get their right to acquire knowledge. Distance learning is currently supported by the YouTube, Zoom, Google Class Room, and WhatsApp applications. Distance learning activities also have advantages and disadvantages. One of the advantages of distance learning is that students can participate in learning activities without space restrictions or can be done anywhere. The drawback is that it can lead to misconceptions, because without face-to-face meetings it can directly lead to different concepts of thought and this is a bigger risk than when face-to-face. In this study, the researcher conducted in-depth identification of class X science learning videos on the Youtube platform using a descriptive qualitative research method, where the results of the study found that out of the 33 learning videos identified, there was 1 learning video which could potentially be a misconception but would not become a big problem because in the learning video there is a detailed explanation. In addition, learning to use audio-visual through the YouTube platform is very interesting for students. Therefore, in this distance learning process, it is necessary to have the role of the teacher as a facilitator, namely making improvements based on the results of identifying the causes of the occurrence of misconceptions in the students themselves. Keywords: online learning, youtube, misconception.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the results of worksheet-based validity Toulmin’s Argumentation Pattern (TAP) to improve critical thinking skills on alternative energy materials. The method used in this study is the R&D method with the ADDIE development model. In this study there are three stages used, namely the analysis stage (analyze) namely determining the needs of students regarding alternative energy material worksheets, the design stage (design) namely planning the developed worksheet, and the development stage (development) namely preparing worksheets and conducting validation. The validity of worksheets is assessed using a Likert scale. The aspects assessed in the validity of the worksheet are the didactic, constructive and technical aspects. The analysis technique was carried out by calculating the results of the validity of the worksheets from 3 validators consisting of 2 expert lecturers and 1 high school teacher. The advantages of this worksheet are that it uses the PBL learning model, based on TAP, contains authentic problems, and trains indicators of critical thinking. The drawback is that worksheets are not yet digital based. The main advice from the validator is to pay attention to critical thinking indicators and the TAP components used. The results showed that the average validity value of the three validators on the didactic aspect was 94.2% with very valid criteria, on the constructive aspect a value of 100% was obtained with very valid criteria, and the technical aspect obtained a value of 91.7% with the criteria very valid. Based on these results it can be seen that the average value of the validity of the worksheet as a whole is 95.3% with very valid criteria. So, it can be concluded that the worksheet is based on Toulmin’s Argumentation Pattern (TAP) to improve critical thinking skills on alternative energy materials suitable for use in the learning process.

Abstract

It is important for students to have problem-solving skills (PSS) when responding to the challenges of the 21st century. The Ministry of Education and Culture has developed an Kurikulum Merdeka that prioritizes cultural contexts. Local culture can be used in learning, especially in physics. Ethnophysics learning can increase students' KPM. However, previous researchers had not developed an ethnophysics-based PSS test instrument. This study analyzed the validity, reliability, and DIF (Differential Item Functioning) ethnophysics PSS test instruments using Rasch analysis. Rasch analysis includes analyses of validity, reliability, and DIF through Ministep software. The results of the Rasch analysis on the ethnophysics-based PSS test instrument showed the indicator items included in the valid and reliable categories. The DIF analysis of gender and domicile groups showed that one indicator out of 25 indicated bias. The probability of success for the group of male students is higher, and they benefit more from it than the female group. It's the same as the probability that a group of students living in village domiciles will benefit more than city domiciles.

Abstract

In everyday life, it is often found that ships sailing in the ocean move because of the wind and rain. The event contained the concept of physics, especially the concept of fluid which can be studied based on the Qur'an and science. This study aims to analyze the relationship between physics (science), especially the idea of fluid with verses contained in the Qur'an. The method used in this research is qualitative, namely literature review. The analysis used is based on the interpretation of Al-Mishbah, the interpretation of Ibn Kathir, and the interpretation of Jalalain as well as several articles from relevant research. The relationship between the concept of fluid and the Qur'an is found in the fluid characteristics described in Q.S. Al-Baqarah verse 164, Q.S. Al-Luqman verse 31, and Q.S. Al-Furqan verse 53. The concept of laminar and turbulent flow is explained in Q.S. Yunus verse 22 which discusses the types of fluid flow that drive ships sailing in the ocean. The relationship between pressure and fluid flow rate is explained by Q.S. Al-Baqarah verse 74. In addition, there is also an explanation of the relationship between temperature, air pressure, and fluid flow by Q.S. Al-Fathir Paragraph 9 which is also stated in the concept of the Bernoulli and Gay Lussac equation. Based on studies conducted on several verses of the Qur'an, it can be concluded that there is a relationship between the Qur'an and physics (science), especially in fluids, namely regarding fluid characteristics, types of fluid flow, fluid flow rates, and the relationship between temperature and pressure. on fluid flow. Keywords: Qur'anic, science, fluid

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the approach of compound intelligence to learning physics in SMA. This type of research is library research using the PRISMA method, which is carried out systematically and follows research protocols. The data collection technique used in this study uses the PRISMA method to segregate data into articles from the last ten years (2012–2021) on Google Scholar and Crossref. The stages carried out include identification, screening, and inclusion. At the identification stage, use the keyword "compound intelligence, physics, multiple intelligence, physics." The first screening stage uses the criterion "Compound Intelligence Approach and Physics Learning" as its inclusion and exclusion criteria: "does not use compound intelligence and is not physics learning". At the screening stage, the second uses the keyword "SMA" as the inclusion criterion, and the exclusion criterion is "not SMA." From the inception stage, 20 articles were obtained, consisting of 17 scientific articles, one proceeding, and one thesis. The analysis of 20 research articles concluded that the compound intelligence approach could improve student learning outcomes, critical thinking skills, and problem-solving abilities. An effective learning model is used with a compound intelligence approach, namely the problem-based learning model that is student-centered and maximizes student potential. Research on the approach of multiple intelligences to physics learning at the high school level for the past ten years is still small and can be used as a basis for more research.

Abstract

This study aims to reduce the number of students who have misconceptions about the working principle of capacitors. PhET simulations are used in lectures to overcome these misconceptions. Diagnostic test results using the Four-Tier Test show that an average of 41.3% of students experience misconceptions about each of the concepts tested. However, after the PhET simulation-assisted lectures were held, the average number of students who had misconceptions decreased to 6.9%. The McNemar test shows that there is a significant change in the number of students who have misconceptions about each concept after attending the PhET simulation-assisted lectures. Thus, these results indicate that the application of PhET simulations in lectures is effective in reducing student misconceptions about the working principle of capacitors.
