Jurnal Pengabdian Masyarakat DEDIKASI merupakan jurnal ilmiah dalam pengabdian masyarakat yang diselenggarakan oleh STIKes Karsa Husada Garut dalam bidang kesehatan pada umumnya. <![CDATA[Viruses cannot be destroyed, they can only be weakened. This makes the Indonesian people face new challenges that require them to adapt to new patterns of habits, especially when in public places. The importance of this made the government issue KMK policy No. HK.01.07-MENKES-382-2020 dated 19 June 2020 concerning Adaptation of new habits in public facilities1. Padayungan Market as a traditional market in Tasikmalaya is at risk of the growth of new clusters of virus transmission, in which various transactions and crowds of people occur in buying and selling. The market manager said that efforts had been made through appeals to rapid tests but public compliance with regulations, the manager did not provide guarantees, because regulating behavior in the market was very difficult to do. The results of the research, 55% of traders are not used to implementing the new protocol recommended by the government, they comply with the protocol only when the officers are on the alert, basically traders are afraid of transmitting the virus, but selling cannot be abandoned. Padayungan. With this activity, market traders are more concerned about personal hygiene and the Padayungan market will not become a new cluster of virus transmission.]]>

<![CDATA[Environmental health problems that exist in Jamaras Village, Jatihandap Village, Mandalajati District, Bandung City are one of the reasons for inaccurate communication, and make issues such as dengue fever, stunting children, lack of clean water and others occur because of uneven health information to the public. For several environmental health cases, the Non-Governmental Organization in Jamaras Village felt that it was not optimal to communicate to invite the community to maintain the cleanliness and health of the environment. Many people still do not want to participate in cleaning their environment, so dengue fever mosquitoes breed in various places. The purpose of this service is to provide training in effective persuasive communication techniques for KSM in counseling on Healthy Clean Lifestyles (PHBS). Partners in this service are the Jamaras Village Community Self-Help Group which contains youth groups, family welfare empowerment and the Boy Loves the Environment (Bocil). This mentoring activity is carried out by solving communication problems in the field with several solutions, providing materials on persuasive communication techniques and conducting practical counseling simulations.]]>

<![CDATA[The flash flood disaster that occurred in Sukawening District, Garut Regency on November 27, 2022, resulted in several impacts for the community. Apart from material losses, this flash flood also left deeptrauma for the community. The Non- Flood Again Program (GBL) is here to assist in handling theaftermath of the flash flood in Sukawening Village. The program is a program designed by STIKesKarsa Husada Garut students in the Village Community Health Development (VCHD) activity. Theprogram implemented focuses on three aspects of activity, namely: (1) disaster mitigation seminars, (2)tree planting, (3) trauma healing. The results of the activity showed that there was an increase in the understanding of the surrounding community regarding disasters, besides thatthe community began tounderstandand care about the importance of protecting the surrounding environment.]]>

<![CDATA[Indonesia includes a tropical climate and is very suitable as a habitat for mosquitoes to breed. Efforts made by the community to deal with mosquitoes, one of which is using 10-hour mosquito coils circulating in the market and nearby supermarkets, 10-hour mosquito coils are the people's choice which is very popular because they are easy to obtain and the price is very cheap when compared to mosquito sprays. or electric mosquito coils. This community service activity was carried out aiming to increase public knowledge about the dangers of excessive use of mosquito coils against human lung organs. This activity was carried out in Mariuk Village, Maripari Village, Sukawening-Garut District, involving 30 members of the PKK. The results of the evaluation showed that the participants' knowledge about the dangers of using 10-hour mosquito coils increased after the counseling was carried out.]]>

<![CDATA[Elderly health is important in relation to quality of life. Prosperous elderly has an optimal quality of life. The purpose of this community service is to find out the characteristics and diseases suffered by the elderly who live with their families. This community service is in the form of a direct survey conducted with home visits to several families with elderly or pre-elderly living in them. The results show that the majority of those surveyed were female (73%). At the level of depression, more than 50% was found with no depression. From the level of independence, almost all of them were in the independent elderly category. Family APGAR assessment shows that more than 80% were in the category of mild dysfunction or no family dysfunction. On blood pressure examination, more than half had hypertension both systolic (61%) and diastolic (56%) from degrees 1 to 3. Thus, further action is needed, especially nurses to make appropriate diagnoses and interventions for problems that arise, so that quality of life can be maintained.]]>

<![CDATA[Indonesia is a disaster-prone country, both natural and non-natural disasters as well as social disasters. The purpose of this service is to educate the public to be prepared for the arrival and impacts arising from disasters experienced by themselves or the community. The technique used in this community service is to socialize fire disaster mitigation and explore community knowledge about fire disaster mitigation so that a Community-Based Fire Disaster Mitigation Model poster is formed using a cooperative-participatory method in collaboration between the government and the community. The results obtained from the implementation of this activity were community knowledge from 40 people who took part in the socialization on disaster mitigation before participating in this activity 45% or 18 people who knew about disaster mitigation education, and after participating in the socialization as much as 90% or 36 people understood information on disaster mitigation. The overview obtained is that it is important for the community to know, understand and be able to apply the knowledge of fire disaster mitigation which is socialized to the Sindanggalih village community. Considering that the location of Sindanggalih Village is quite close to the city which is full of hills and mountains and there are still many trees, so that if a fire occurs, the community will certainly experience enormous difficulties because Sindanggalih Village does not yet have fire extinguisher facilities. So it becomes very important to socialize fire disaster mitigation for Sindanggalih villagers, in order to prevent the causes of fires at an early stage, including when a fire disaster occurs, how can residents already know and understand what actions must be taken in order to survive and successfully extinguish the fire.]]>

<![CDATA[The percentage of stunting in Indonesia as a whole is still relatively high and requires special attention. Even though the national stunting rate has decreased from 37.2% in 2013 to 30.8% in 2018, this figure is still below the WHO recommendation of <20%. Mother's knowledge about nutrition will affect the dishes and quality of food served to family members, including toddlers. Lack of maternal knowledge is closely related to the problem of malnutrition which can be seen from the existence of wrong habits in fulfilling toddler nutrition. The "Fill My Plate" movement is a program of the Indonesian Ministry of Health to replace the slogan "4 healthy 5 perfect" as a guideline for daily food to achieve good nutritional status. This service activity aims to provide education about "Fill My Plate " to parents of toddlers. The activity method is carried out in the form of providing education for parents about "Fill My Plate " for toddlers. The activity was held at the Al-Azmi Early Childhood Education, Cilawu District, Garut Regency on Thursday, 03 November 2022 and was attended by 26 participants. <![CDATA[Covid-19 is a disease caused by a corona virus that was first discovered in the province of Wuhan, the People's Republic of China and has become a global pandemic. The virus attacks the respiratory system and causes mild disturbances to death. The severity of the symptoms that appear is related to the state of immunity. The worse the immunity, the more susceptible to contracting Covid-19. In addition, individuals with poor immunity tend to experience severe manifestations of covid. Therefore, it is important to increase immunity during the Covid-19 pandemic. Efforts made to increase immunity include increasing community capacity through community service activities in the form of a webinar entitled "Tips to Increase Immunity During a Pandemic". There is a difference in the average value of the pre-test (83.79) and post-test (96.21) after the activity. As many as 66.7% of participants considered that the activity went very well. Thus, the webinar that was held was useful in increasing community capacity in increasing immunity during the co-19 pandemic. It is hoped that this activity will continue to be carried out at different targets in order to reduce the spread and transmission of Covid-19. ]]>

<![CDATA[Palm sugar is one of the processed food products sourced from the processing of sap water from the male flower bunches of the palm tree. Garut Regency is one of the cities for producing palm sugar and ant sugar in Indonesia which is growing rapidly. To improve the quality of palm sugar and ant sugar in Garut Regency, it is necessary to test the palm sugar and ant sugar products according to the characteristics of the quality requirements of the Indonesian National Standardization Agency (BSN), namely SNI 01-3743-199. So that it can compete with palm sugar and ant sugar products from other regions. The purpose of this community service is to maintain the quality and authenticity of palm sugar, by educating craftsmen about palm sugar with Indonesian national standard quality, so that it can be exported. The results of chemical and physical testing of palm sugar, the original product from arrowroot, can meet the quality standards according to SNI 01-3743-199.]]>

<![CDATA[Stunting merupakan salah satu masalah gizi kronis yang disebabkan oleh asupan gizi kurang dalam waktu lama, umumnya karena asupan makan yang tidak sesuai kebutuhan gizi. Stunting adalah gangguan pertumbuan linier tubuh anak menjadi pendek atau sangat pendek yang didasarkan pada tinggi badan menurut umur dengan ambang batas (Z score) kurang dari minus 2 SD. Peran orang tua khususnya ibu sangat penting dalam proses deteksi dini stunting, pengetahuan dan sikap yang baik sangat dibutuhkan karena ibu merupakan orang terdekat di dalam keluarga yang berperan terhadap pemberian asupan makanan pada anak. Tujuan pengabdian ini untuk memberikan edukasi dalam upaya deteksi dini stunting pada anak pra sekolah 4 sampai 6 tahun. Teknik yang digunakan pada pengabdian masyarakat ini dengan mensosialisaikan pengetahuan tentang stunting serta melakukan p engukuran pertumbuhan dan perkembangan anak pra sekolah. Hasil yang didapatkan pelaksanaan aktivitas ini pengetahuan pada ibu tentang deteksi dini stunting sekitar 25 orang. Pada saat sebelum 10 orang yang mengetahui tentang stunting dan setelah mengikuti, sekitar 25 ibu mengalami peningkatan pengetahuan tentang deteksi stunting.]]>
