Journal of Fundamental Mathematics and Applications (JFMA) is an Indonesian journal published by the Department of Mathematics, Diponegoro University, Semarang, Indonesia. JFMA has been published regularly in 2 scheduled times (June and November) every year. JFMA is established to highlight the latest update of mathematical researches in both theoretical and applied works. The scope in JFMA is pure mathematics and applied mathematics. All accepted papers will be published both in print and online versions. The online version can be accessed via the DOI link of each article. The print version can be ordered to the journal administrator. JFMA welcomes both theoretical and applied research work to be published in the journal. Abstract

The Study of algebraic structures, especially on graphs theory, leads to anew topics of research in recent years. In this paper, the algebraic structures that will be represented by a coprime graph are the dihedral group and its subgroups. The coprime graph of a group G, denoted by \Gamma_D_2n is a graph whose vertices are elements of G and two distinct vertices a and b are adjacent if only if (|a,|b|)=1. Some properties of the coprime graph of a dihedral group D_2n are obtained. One of the results is if n is prime then \Gamma_D_2n is a complete bipartite graph. Moreover, if n is the power of prime then \Gamma_D_2n is a multipartite graph.

Abstract

Let G=(V(G), E(G)) be a connected graph with order |V(G)|=p and size |E(G)|=q. A graph G is said to be even-to-odd mean graph if there exists a bijection function phi:V(G) to {2, 4, ..., 2p}  such that the induced mapping phi^*:E(G) to {3, 5, ..., 2p-1} defined by phi^*(uv)=[phi(u)+phi(v)]/2 for all uv element of E(G) is also bijective. The function  is called an even-to-odd mean labeling of graph . This paper aimed to introduce a new technique in graph labeling. Hence, the concepts of even-to-odd mean labeling has been evaluated for some trees. In addition, we examined some properties of tree graphs that admits even-to-odd mean labeling and discussed some important results.

Abstract

This paper discusses cone polygonal metric spaces. We analyze some characteristics derived from convergence and Cauchyness of sequences. Our result consists of some conditions on uniqueness of limit point and completeness in cone polygonal metric spaces.

Abstract

This paper aims to provide a new general explicit polynomial solution on power sums of consecutive positive integers under alternating signs. Moreover, it examines the solution under odd and even number of terms in the series and provides some examples.

Abstract

One type of element in the ring with involution is normal element. Their main properties is commutative with their image by involution in ring. Group invers  of element in   ring  is  always commutative with element   which is commutative  with itself. In this paper, properties of normal element in ring with involution  which also have generalized  Moore Penrose invers  are constructed by using commutative property of  group invers  in  ring.

Abstract

The economic condition of the parents and their level of education are the determining factors for the level of education of the children. The purpose of this study was to analyze the factors affecting the level of education of children (socioeconomic status of parents and parents' latest education). The subjects in this study were 100 people of Sayang-Sayang Village who were determined by simple random sampling technique. Data collection was carried out online using a survey sheet or questionnaire developed with the help of Google Form. The method in analyzing this causal relationship uses ordinal logistic regression analysis. The results showed that the ordinal logistic regression analysis provided two logit models, in which socioeconomic status had a significant effect on the child's education level, while the parents' last education level did not have a significant effect on the child's education level. The first logit model is a logit model that explains the causal relationship between socioeconomic status and the last level of education of high-category children, while the second model is for the middle category level. Research is expected to be one of the references both in the use of ordinal logistic regression and in observing the factors that affect the level of children's education.

Abstract

In the present paper, we consider an optimization problem related to the extension in k-dimensions of the well known 3x3 points problem by Sam Loyd. In particular, thanks to a variation of the so called “clockwise-algorithm”, we show how it is possible to visit all the 3^k points of the k-dimensional grid given by the Cartesian product of (0, 1, 2) using covering trails formed by h(k)=(3^k-1)/2 links who belong to k (Euclidean) length classes. We can do this under the additional constraint of allowing only turning points which belong to the set B(k):={(0, 3) x (0, 3) x ... x (0, 3)}.

Abstract

Bagi perusahaan yang bergerak di bidang jasa perbankan, kemampuan BCA Tegal untuk memberikan layanan yang baik kepada konsumen adalah hal yang krusial untuk diperhatikan guna dapat bertahan dalam persaingan bisnis. Peningkatan kualitas layanan wajib untuk terus diupayakan guna nasabah tidak berpaling dari BCA Tegal. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui layanan perbankan yang berpengaruh terhadap kepuasan nasabah dan yang perlu diprioritaskan untuk ditingkatkan agar nasabah BCA Tegal merasa puas dengan pelayanan. Kepuasan diukur melalui faktor-faktor dan atribut-atribut layanan perbankan yang ada di BCA Tegal. Digunakan sampel sebanyak 170 responden dari nasabah BCA Tegal. Metode analisis yang digunakan dalam penelitian adalah Fuzzy Service Quality. Hasil analisis dalam penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat atribut dan faktor yang perlu untuk ditingkatkan guna memberikan layanan yang berkualitas. Layanan yang paling berpengaruh untuk kepuasan nasabah ada pada faktor assurance (jaminan). Sementara itu, layanan yang perlu untuk ditingkatkan adalah faktor responsiveness (daya tanggap).

Abstract

This paper is addressed to discuss the edge super trimagic total labeling on some graphs which are corona, double ladder, quadrilateral snake and alternate triangular snake. The main results are the edge super trimagic total label for these graphs. Furthermore, it was prove that corona is a graph with edge super trimagic total labeling, a double ladder with odd ladder is graph with edge super trimagic total labeling, quadrilateral snake is a graph with edge super trimagic total labeling and finally an alternate triangular snake with odd ladder is graph with edge super trimagic total labeling.
