Abstract

Based on the results of PISA 2015, Indonesia is included in 10 countries with low literacy capability. The average Indonesian student score for math literacy is 375 (level 1) while the average international score is 500 (level 3). Level 1 is the lowest level of the 6 levels of mathematical literacy skills applied by PISA. Most high school students still have difficulty expressing their ideas, either in visual form, in mathematical expressions, or in words when solving math problems. Students are also afraid to present the results of their work in discussions, both in front of the class, and in their study groups, even in answering questions from teachers. It shows that the mathematical literacy of students in learning mathematics is still low. One of the learning models that is expected to improve students' mathematical literacy skills is ethnomatematics. The main purpose of this study is for the role of learning model based on ethnomatematics as learning innovation in improving mathematics literacy. Cultural-based mathematics learning (etnomatematics) is one way that can make learning mathematics more meaningful and contextual that is closely related to the cultural community. In addition, cultural-based mathematics learning will be an interesting, fun and innovative learning alternative because it allows contextual meaning based on the experience of the students as a member of a cultural society that is expected to participate in supporting the literacy movement. For the development of continuous learning of mathematics, etnomatematics can serve as a reference and a means to bridge between mathematics as a science with the socio-cultural culture of Balinese society. As a follow up of this study is the government should conduct socialization related to innovation of learning based on ethnomatematics.

Abstract

The purpose of this research to know the better of mathematical problem solving ability between students who using cooperative learning model of Two Stay Two Stray type with Think Pair Share type. This research is use experimental research, with the population all of students in VII grade of SMP Negeri 1 Sindang, in academic year 2017/2018. The class sample were taken by using cluster random sampling technique. Based on the result of hypothesis testing using t-test shows that student’s mathematical problem solving ability who using cooperative learning model Think Pair Share type are better than student’s mathematical problem solving ability who using cooperative learning model Two Stay Two Stray type.

Abstract

The study aims to determine the increase in biology learning outcomes of students of class X IPA-7 even semester SMA N 2 Denpasar academic year 2017/2018 through the application of the SETS (Science, Environment Technique and Society) approach. This type of research is classroom action research (CAR) conducted in two cycles. Subjects were 36 students. The research data was collected through observation using multiple choice instruments. Data were analyzed descriptively, in the first cycle, the average learning outcomes 74.77 increased 5.84 to 80.61 and the second cycle increased 6.39 to 87. Absorption in the first cycle: 74.77% increased 5.84% to 80.61% and the second cycle increased 6.39% to 87%. Classical learning completeness in the first cycle 58.33% increased 16.67% to 75% (under KKM: 85%), then continued to cycle II. In the second cycle, classical completeness was obtained by increasing 16.66% to 91.66%. It was concluded that the application of the SETS approach was able to improve the biology learning outcomes of students of class X IPA-7 in the even semester of SMA 2 Denpasar in the academic year 2017/2018.

Abstract

This study aimed to assess the effect of Problem Based Learning model with e-learning to creativity and learning result of mathematics on tenth grade student of SMK Negeri 4 Denpasar on academic year 2017/2018. This type of research was quasi experiment, using non equivalent posttest-only control group design. The population in this study were the student of tenth grade PH of SMK Negeri 4 Denpasar with 4 classes (144 students). Using multistage random sampling technique, 2 classes were obtained as sample, wich is tenth grade PH 3 (36 students) as control group and tenth grade PH 1 (36 students) as experiment group. The data obtained of learning creativity score using questionnaire and mathematics learning result score using test method. Data analysis using MANOVA with SPSS 24.0 for windows.Based on the obtained result of hypothesis testing: 1) there were significant difference in creativity of student who joined the problem based learning model with e-learning with the student who joined the conventional learning model, by value (sig.) ≤ α (0,001 ≤ 0,05), 2) there were significant difference in mathematics learning result of student who joined the problem based learning model with e-learning with the student who joined the conventional learning model, by value (sig.) ≤ α (0,001 ≤ 0,05), and 3) there were simultaneous difference in creativity and mathematics learning result of student who joined the problem based learning model with e-learning with the student who joined the conventional learning model, by value (sig.) ≤ α (0,001 ≤ 0,05). So, there are an effect of problem based learning model with e-learning to students's mathematics learning creativity and result.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the growth of onion (Allium cepavarascalonicum L.) due to the administration of AB fertilizer mix with different concentrations in the wick system hydroponic culture and optimal concentration for the growth of onion plants. This research is classified as experimental research. The study design consisted of one control group and 4 treatment groups with 4 replications per group. Each treatment was P0 (without ABmix fertilizer), P1 (ABmix fertilizer 10%), P2 (ABmix fertilizer 20%), P3 (ABmix fertilizer 30%), and P4 (ABmix fertilizer 40%). The population of this research is the seed of onion with a total of 400 tubers. A sample of 300 tubers was taken by random sampling technique. Data collected is data about the wet weight of shallots which include leaves, disc tubers and roots. The data obtained were analyzed by one-way ANOVA with the F test, a significance level of 5%, followed by an average difference test with the BNT test. The results showed that there were differences in onion growth at different ABmix fertilizer concentrations. The optimal fertilizer concentration for the growth of onion is a concentration of 30% (P3). The BNT test showed that the difference in concentration between treatments did not show a significant difference in growth. A very significant difference in growth occurred between the control group and all treatments.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to know the effect of performance assessment approach and the the ability to think creatively to the study result of mathematics student class VIII at SMP Negeri 1 Blahbatuh, and to know which assesssment approach is better used in obtaining better result of mathematics. In the implementation, in the experimental group is given treatment in the form of performance assessment and control group is given treatment in the form of conventional assessment. This research is categorized quasi experiment with the design of Treatment by Level.The population in this research is all the students of class VIII at SMP Negeri 1 Blahbatuh which consist of 346 people.The study sample involved as many as 78 people in the experimental class and 77 people in the control class. Samples were taken randomly with multistage random sampling technique. The instrument used in this research is the test for result of mathematic and the ability to think creatively. In this research data analysis using analysis of variance test (ANAVA) Two Path and further test that is Tukey test. The result of this study show there is the differences result of mathematics between students who were assessed using performance assessment with students assessed using conventional assessment. Further interaction between the assessment form and the level of the ability to think creatively toward the the result of mathematic. For learners who have high creative thinking ability more suitable given the performance assessment, while learners who have low creative thinking ability more suitable given conventional assessment.

Abstract

Tomato is one type of fruit plant with high Vitamin C and antioxidant content. Efforts that can be used to increase the vegetative growth of tomato plants is by using organic fertilizer. One of the organic fertilizers that can be used is coconut water and gamal leaves. This study aims to determine the effect of coconut water mixture and gamal leaf as liquid fertilizer to the vegetative growth of tomato plants (Solanum lycopersicum L.).This research is classified as an experimental research using Completely Randomized Design. The population in this research is 400 tomato plants. The sample in this research is tomato plant with the amount of 300 plants taken by Simple Random Sampling technique, and become four replications. Each treatment consisted of: 1) treatment without liquid fertilizer (P0), 2) liquid fertilizer from coconut water mixture and gamal leaf with volume 40 ml / l (P1), 3) liquid fertilizer from coconut water mixture and gamal leaf with a volume of 80 ml / l (P2); 4) liquid fertilizer from a mixture of coconut water and gamal leaves with volume of 120 ml / l (P3); and 5) liquid fertilizer from coconut water mixture and gamal leaf with volume 160 ml / P4). The data obtained in this study were analyzed using one wa Analysis of Varian (ANOVA) using SPSS for Windows 16.0. The result of data analysis shows that there is influence of coconut water mixture and gamal leaf as liquid fertilizer to vegetative growth of tomato plant (Solanum lycopersicum L.). The best treatment for vegetative growth of tomato plants (Solanum lycopersicum L.) with volume 160 ml / l (P4).

Abstract

It is undeniable, completing the final assignment is still a scourge for students. To minimize the improvement of the learning process, it should be done in stages and continuously. In addition, there needs to be an evaluation and reflection of learning to find out the obstacles and find alternative solutions for subsequent learning. The research subjects were VII semester students of the 2017/2018 academic year. This study uses the following instruments Learning Unit, Observation Sheet, Student Worksheet, Test Questions, and Field Notes. This article wants to present a description of the results of the reflection of learning that has been done on the subject of thesis writing techniques in the hope of providing a learning experience that can train students' critical thinking skills. The conclusions taken are through Problem Based Learning (PBL) that can be identified by students' critical thinking skills, the critical thinking indicators that are mostly owned by mathematics education students IKIP PGRI Jember namely Interpretation, the least critical indicator possessed by students is Recognition of assumptions.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effect of Means Ends Analysis (MEA) model to the interest and outcomes of mathematics learning of seventh grade students in SMP Negeri 6 Denpasar academic year of 2017/2018. The type of research was a quasi experiment and the design of research was non equivalent posttest-only control group design. The population were 9 classes of seventh grade students (364 students) in SMP Negeri 6 Denpasar which involved 2 classes as the sample taken by using multistage random sampling technique. The obtained data of this research used questionnaire and mathematics test score which furthermore analyzed by using MANOVA with SPSS 22.0 for Windows. Based on the obtained hypothesis test results: 1) there was an effect of Means Ends Analysis (MEA) model to the mathematics appreciation of seventh grade students in SMP Negeri 6 Denpasar academic of year 2017/2018, with the value 0,000 < 0,05, 2) there was an effect of Means Ends Analysis (MEA) modelto the mathematics literacy of seventh grade students in SMP Negeri 6 Denpasar academic year of 2017/2018, with the value 0,000< 0,05, and 3) there was an effect of Means Ends Analysis (MEA) modelto themathematics appreciation and mathematics literacyof seventh grade students in SMP Negeri 6 Denpasar academic year of 2017/2018, with the value 0,000< 0,05.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the relationship between mathematical disposition and the mathematical proof of students, especially in real analysis subjects. This research was conducted at IKIP PGRI Bali in 2018 with 25 students in semester Va. The instrument of data collection is a test of mathematical proof which is one of the achievements in learning real analysis and mathematical disposition questionnaire. Data was analyzed with the Spearman rank correlation. The results of the analysis show that the contribution of mathematical disposition to the student's evidence ability is 18.4%, but based on the statistical test the relationship is not significant. The results of this study indicate that the ability to prove the mathematics of students does not depend on the mathematical dispositions they have but rather the mastery of the material being studied. Therefore understanding the concepts and doing mathematical proof exercise is the most important thing
