Abstract

During the Covid-19 pandemic, face-to-face learning has been replaced with online learning (e-learning). The learning process with this mode must be able to support the learning objectives towards understanding the concept. This study aims to explore the effect of e-learning on concept mastery in prospective teachers. In this study, we conducted a one group pretest posttest design, where one class group was used as the research sample and was given a pretest, treatment, and posttest. The sample was taken purposively with the criteria of prospective teacher students taking fundamental physics courses on motion kinematics material. The number of research samples was 23 prospective teachers at the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, University of Mataram – Indonesia. The instrument in the form of an essay test is used to measure the understanding of the concept. Analysis of research data used descriptive statistical analysis (pair t-test) to test the research hypothesis. The results of the pair t-test showed a significance of p = 0.000 (< 0.05), this means that there is a significant difference between the pretest and posttest scores after the implementation of e-learning. The interpretation leads to the effect of online learning mode (e-learning) on the concept mastery ability of prospective teachers.

Abstract

The problem in this study is that the limitations of special equipment in shooting training cause low accuracy in shooting for NTB petanque athletes. The aim of this study was to determine the effectiveness of using the Le Duo Tir tool in increasing the accuracy of shooting petanque. A quasi-experimental research method was used in this study, which consisted of an experimental group and a control group with a test and post-test research design with non-equivalent control-group design. Data analysis begins with the prerequisite test Kormogorov-Smirnov Test before conducting the Paired Sample T-Test, homogeneity test for the post-test data of the experimental group and control group, and continued with the Independent Sample T-Test. The results of the Independent Sample T-Test test obtained the value of Sig. (2-tailed) of 0.000 <0.05, it is concluded that there is a difference in the effect of shooting accuracy between the experimental group and the control group, but the use of the Le Duo Tir tool is stated to be more effective in increasing shooting accuracy (mean = 28.90) than conventional training ( mean=20.40).

Abstract

One of the most famous spice species that lives in the tropics is black pepper (Piper nigrum L.). The study of piperine paved the way for its development as a bioactive compound in the treatment of various diseases, this is based on the ancient healing tradition of using black pepper. Our current study aims to isolate and characterize the bioactive compound piperine in Piper nigrum L. Black pepper was extracted with ethanol using the basic soxhletation and percolation methods. The results in the study showed that the extract from the Sokhlet process was yellowish moss green, and the piperine crystal color was yellow and shaped like a needle. Thin layer chromatography (TLC) results were observed using a UV-Vis spectrophotometer with different eluents and different Rf values were obtained. In addition, observations on the IR spectrum show that the piperine structure has been formed. This study provides an opportunity for a more in-depth exploration of the structure of piperine and future studies are very important to identify the potential utilization of piperine, especially as a basic material in the treatment of various diseases.
