Abstract

Introduction: Chronic kidney failure is a condition in which kidney tissue has progressively decreased function so that it is unable to maintain fluid balance in the body and requires therapy, namely hemodialysis. Improving physical work capacity and reducing functional limitations of muscle strength can be done through regular physical exercise in patients with chronic kidney failure after undergoing hemodialysis. Therefore it is necessary to conduct a systematic review study to determine the effect of physical exercise on chronic kidney failure patients. There are 5 articles used in this research. Based on the articles obtained, it can be concluded that physical exercise in patients with chronic kidney failure during the hemodialysis period greatly influences muscle strength.

Abstract

Introduction: Osteoarthritis is a progressive, degenerative joint disease in which the cartilage that protects the ends of the bones begins to break down, accompanied by reactive changes at the joint edges and subchondral bone that cause pain and loss of movement.Based on the results of health research on the basis of Riskesdas in 2013, the prevalence of joint disease based on health diagnoses in Indonesia was 11.9% and 24.7% based on symptoms. The highest prevalence based on diagnosis by health workers was in Bali 19.3% while based on symptoms the highest was in East Nusa Tenggara 33.1%, West Java 32.1%, DKI Jakarta 21.8% when viewed from age characteristics, the highest prevalence was at age ≥ 75 years (54.8%) there were also more female patients (27.5%) compared to men (21.8%). Case Presentation: A 56 year old man came to RSJD Dr. Arif Zainuddin Surakarta with complaints of pain in the right knee and could not fully bend because he had experienced a fall and slipped on the right knee. He has hypertension, diabetes and cholesterol. On physical examination with vital signs heart rate 99 beats/minute, respiration 20 beats/minute, blood pressure 170/100 mmHg with a height of 155 cm and a weight of 74 kg. From the static inspection examination found edema and dynamic inspection it was seen that he walked slowly and endured a little pain and seemed to be using a tripod. Results : From the examination of pain using a vase on the right knee, the results were: silent pain (2), motion pain (4), tenderness (4). Measuring muscle strength with MMT on the right knee with flexion extension movement obtained 4 results. Anthropometric examination of the odema using the mid line with the results of the right knee (42 cm), left knee (36.5 cm) which means a difference of 5.5 cm. Abstract

Abstract

Introduction: In the lower extremities of the human body, there is a hip joint which is the most proximal part with the type of synovial ball and socket joint. In carrying out the functions, the hip joint often experiences problems both as a result of trauma, degenerative, and post-traumatic hip. Osteoarthritis (90%) contributes the largest problems in hip joint, followed by femoral neck fracture (5%), avascular necrosis (2%), dysplasia (2%), and inflammatory arthritis (1%) (Ferguson et al, 2018). Thus, if conservative treatment did not provide better changes, then a total hip replacement is performed to reduce pain and improve physical function. Total hip replacement is a surgical procedure by replacing the entire hip joint with an implant. Implants themselves can last up to 20 years. Case Presentation: A 58-year-old patient with unable to endure pain and discomfort in his activities and at rest, when consulted by a doctor, patients experience infections around implants and plates & screws. After total hip replacement patient complained of pain in the incision on the side of tight and limited movement in the left leg. Management and Outcome: Early mobilization given in the form of breathing exercises, isometric exercises, and other exercises on the bed, then on the second and third days began to be given transfer-ambulation exercises. Pain is measured using NRS and joint scope of motion is measured using a goniometer. Discussion: From several articles that become supporting in line with the results obtained where the initial mobilization is a major influence in the patient's life in the future. Patients who do initial mobilization are able to return to activity more quickly than patients who do not do initial mobilization. Conclusion: After receiving physiotherapy management for early moilization at three days after surgery, there was a decrease in pain levels, an increase in joint scope of motion, and a decrease in edema in the patient's left leg.

Abstract

Introduction: Pregnancy-related Pelvic Girdle Pain (PGPP) is the most common condition during pregnancy that affects the quality of life, and a previous study has found that between 17% to 64.7% of pregnant women reported PPGP worldwide. The physiotherapy management of PPGP has varieties among countries, especially in the low- and middle-income countries (LMICs) group setting which are dependent on their country’s situations. The topics that need to discover more in the LMICs were the vulnerable maternal and neonatal morbidity and mortality risk factors. This could be the inadequate health service quality, lack of information, limited coverage, and low quality of antenatal care. Case Presentation: A literature review from five databases (PubMed, Pedro, Science Direct, Cochrane, and Web of Science). A mix of keywords has been used in the search or Medical Subject Heading (MESH) terms related to "pregnancy-related pelvic girdle pain" or “Pelvic Girdle Pain AND Pregnancy” and combine with OR treatment and "low and middle-income countries". The inclusion criteria of the articles were that pregnant women aged 18 years old suffered PPGP and all studies assessed the published in English within 2000-2020. The methodological quality of the included studies in terms of internal validity was assessed using CASP (Critical Appraisal Skills Program). Management and Outcome: lumbopelvic belts could improve functional status, decreased the level and intensity of pain, and raise the quality of life among pregnant women were the benefit of physiotherapy management for solving the PPGP problems. Discussion: Four articles have been selected from five databases with 80% of quality assessment for each research. The studies mentioned 3 to 10 weeks exercise program, a specific exercise program (pelvic rocking technique, back care, routine prenatal care, home-based pelvic stabilizing exercise), and lumbopelvic belts could improve functional status, decreased the level and intensity of pain, and raise the quality of life among pregnant women were the benefit of physiotherapy management for solving the PPGP problems. Conclusion: Physiotherapy management in the LMICs group setting use the three to ten weeks of exercise program. The specific technique of exercise and lumbopelvic belts were used to treat the PPGP problems among pregnant women.

Abstract

The growth and development of children aged 0-6 months is an important stage to achieve optimal quality of life. Parents have an important role in stimulating child growth and development early on in child growth and development. Problems that occur in children of this age, one of which is gross motor development due to parents' lack of understanding of child development. Education in the form of health literacy discusses growth and development and how to stimulate according to age so that parents can apply what has been taught. The aim is to determine changes in the level of understanding of parents when given growth and development education about gross motor development of children aged 0-6 months. This study used a quantitative research design with a type of quay experimental research, a one- group pre-test-post-test approach. The number of samples was 44 respondents with the purposive sampling method. The variables of this study are independent, namely parents' understanding of child growth and development measured by questionnaires, and dependent variables, namely gross motor development of children aged 0-6 months measured by ASQ (Ages and stages questionnaire). Data analysis techniques used were univariate test, normality test, and effect test. The effect test using Wilcoxon showed the sig result (2-tailed) was 0.000 <0.05, meaning there is a significant effect. It can be concluded that there is an effect of growth and development education on parents' level of understanding about the gross motor development of children aged 0-6 months.
