Abstract

The aims of this reserach were to isolating and to identifying bacteria entomopathogenic on caterpillar pests in cabbage. The study was conducted in three phases. The first stage isolation of bacteria from cabbage caterpillar pests, the second stage of microscopic characterization of bacterial isolates and the third phase molecular identification of bacteria isolates using 16S RNA gene. The results were obtained five bacterial isolates of caterpillar pests in cabbage which 4 isolates shaped cocus, three isolates of gram positive and gram negative two isolates. All of isolates were able to degrade D-glucose. Isolates were translucent white color, white yellowish and brownish white. Generally isolates are not motile dan growth in the media to the surface. Results of DNA extraction and amplification of 16S RNA gene, showing the purity and concentration of DNA is good, confirmed by electrophoresis, amplicons formed band at 1500 bp according to the characteristics of the 16 S RNA gene

Abstract

Bee Honey (Apis dorsata Binghami) Is a subspecies of A. dorsata which is only found in sulawesidan island and surrounding islands and until now has not been successfully cultivated. Various studies have been conducted species of trees used for nesting places, nesting behavior, biotic conditions, physical surrounding nesting trees and nesting characteristics. This study aims to obtain secondary metabolite components and scientific data of antioxidant activity of honeybee extract (Apis dorsata Binghami) derived from Bogani Nani Wartabone Bolaang Mongondow National Park, North Sulawesi Province. The method of extraction in this research was conducted using maceration with methanol solvent, phytochemical test and antioxidant activity analysis using method (1,1-definil-2-picrilhidrazil) by measuring absorbance absorption at maximum wavelength using UV-Vis spectrophotometer. The results of the phytochemical test show that the honeycomb (Apis dorsata Binghami) contains alkaloids, flavonoids, saponins and tannins. From the analysis results showed that with the increasing concentration of extracts, the greater the antioxidant activity is marked by decreasing the value of IC50. The honeycomb (Apis dorsata Binghami) has IC50 of 212.42 ppm in comparison with vitamin C IC50 of 59.34 ppm

Abstract

Leaf leilem (Clerodendrum minahassae Teism. & Binn.) commonly used by the Minahasa as food and traditional medicine for treating intestinal worms, abdominal pain, and pain in the chest. Gram-positive bacteria Staphylococcus aureus ATCC 25923 strain is a type of bacteria that is found in humans and can be the cause of the emergence of the disease. This research aims to know the types of solvents are most effective and how the antibacterial activity of extracts of leaves of leilem on the growth of the bacteria Staphylococcus aureus strains ATCC 25923. The solvent used is ethanol is polar, ethyl acetate which is semi polar, and n-heksan which is non polar. Preliminary research has been conducted on konsenterasi extract with 100 ppm 200 ppm 400 ppm and 800 ppm, the antibacterial activity of the most optimal at 800 ppm so the data will be used for the analysis in this study was konsenterasi 800 ppm. Deuteronomy was done by as much as 3 times. Positive control using antibiotics clindamicyn 400 ppm and negative controls using aquades and 10% DMSO. Isolation of bacteria using scratch in zig-zag and to test the antibacterial activity of using diffusion well in order. Results of the study showed that the percentage yield of solvent is ethanol that is 1,2329% in maceration 1:4. Drag the diameter of most bacteria are grown on ethyl acetate extract polar spring with a grade average of 12.6 mm. Based on the analysis of OneWay ANOVA showed different results for real then followed by Tukey test, to see that these three types of different extract significantly in inhibiting the growth of gram positive bacteria Staphylococcus aureus strains ATCC 25923. In conclusion, namely the first ethanol is a solvent that is most effective in dissolving the leaves leilem, both of the antibacterial activity in sequence from the most minor to the most massive is the n-heksan (non-polar), ethanol (polar), and ethyl acetate (semi polar). The third conclusion in the optimum konsenterasi 800 ppm, extract n-heksan n-heksan (non-polar), ethanol (polar), and ethyl acetate (semi polar) showed antibacterial activity significantly different.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to examine the antioxidant activity and the effect of the extract of Nusa Indah Putih (Mussaenda pubescens) on creatinine, uric acid and urea levels in white rats (Rattus novergicus). The study design, the treatment group was divided into 5 groups. The control group (P0), the ethylene glycol group (P1), the kidney drug treatment group (P2), the Nusa Indah Putih ethanol extract group at a dose of 100 mg/kgBW (P3), and the Nusa Indah Putih ethanol extract group at a dose of 200 mg/kgBW (P4 ). Nusa Indah Putih extract has strong antioxidant activity with IC50 value of 78.27 ppm and AAI value of 1.277. Nusa Indah Putih extract was effective in lowering creatinine, uric acid and urea levels in experimental animals.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the antilithiation effectiveness of alang-alang extract in white rats by looking at the histology of the rat kidney. The study design, the treatment group was divided into 5 groups. Control group (P0), ethylene glycol group (P1), Hydrochlorothiazide treatment group (P2), alang-alang extract group at a dose of 100 mg/kgBW (P3), and alang-lang extract group at a dose of 200 mg/kgBW (P4). The results showed that alang-alang extract had activity in repairing the kidneys of white rats with urolithiasis. And the alang-alang extract dose of 200 mg/kgBW has better effectiveness.
