Abstract

This study aims to test the effectiveness of mindfulness-based interventions decrease ego depletion in new students. Hypothesis in this research is mindfulness-based intervention can decrease ego depletion of the new student. This study uses a quasi-experimental with the design of untreated-control-group with pretest-posttest using switching replication. This intervention consists of one session plus an opening session, planning and closing. A total of 15 new students with moderate to high ego depletion are divided into control and experiment groups. The instruments used in this study are EDS and KIMS. Quantitative analysis was performed by Mann-Whitney statistical test and qualitative analysis. The results showed that mindfulness-based interventions were significant to decreasing ego depletion in new students (U = 0.000, P <0.001) and the therapeutic effect of these interventions could persist at least two weeks post-intervention.

Abstract

Low marital commitments can cause many marital problems. Therefore, interventions that can increase marriage commitments are needed. This study aims to determine the effect of the "SUPER" Program in increasing marital commitment. The "SUPER" program is an intervention based on the techniques of creating gratitude according to the stages in the experiential learning cycle and implemented in four sessions. This quasi-experimental study was conducted with untreated control group design with pretest and posttest in 12 women who have been married for 1 to 10 years. The result of the difference of gained score analysis in the experimental group and control group with Mann-Whitney U test showed Z score = -2.089 p = 0,037 (p <0,05). The Wilcoxon Signed-Rank Test was performed on the experimental group showed Z score = -1,997 p = 0.046 (p <0.05). The results showed that there were significant differences between the experimental group compared with the control group. There was a significant increase in the marital commitment score between the pretest and posttest experimental groups

Abstract

This study was conducted in individuals with chronic diseases, namely coronary heart disease (CHD). Individuals with CHD experience changes in various aspects of life that create stress in the form of anxiety. The MBSR program can improve the parasympathetic nervous system, reduce the production of adrenaline and epinephrine so that symptoms of stress and anxiety can decrease. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) program on reducing anxiety in individuals with CHD. The research method used a quasi-experiment with the design of the one group pretest-posttest design. Data analysis with Sign-Rank Wilcoxon Test non-parametric test. The results showed that there was a significant decrease in anxiety in CHD individuals with a value of Z = -2.023 and p = 0.043 (p <0.05). Based on these results, the MBSR program has been proven to reduce individual anxiety with CHD.

Abstract

Purchase intention is an initial stage in which consumers feel attracted to a product or service that will cause the desire to purchase as the final stage in making purchasing decisions. The occurrence of purchase intention is influenced by many factors one of which is a form of promotion by business owners. Promotion that is rampant in the social media Instagram is endorsement done by Instagram Celebrities. The purpose of this study is to determine whether there is influence of the endorsement by Instagram Celebrities to the purchase intention of young women. Researchers use the scale of purchase intention that has been modified. Subjects in this study were 73 female adolescence. This study used experimental group and control group to know difference of influence of endorsement by Instagram Celebrities. The resulting data will be analyzed using SPSS program. The results of this study showed a t-test score of 0.950 and p-value= 0.345 (p>0,05) which means there is no significant difference between the experimental group and the control group.

Abstract

Conceiving a child in marriage is one factor that influencing well-being.  The inability to have a child means to pressure and suffering for the couple, especially toward women with idiopathic infertility. This study aimed to investigate the influence of Narima Ing Pandum (NIP) therapy. NIP was developed based on Javanese values of sabar (patience), syukur (gratitude) and narima (acceptance). This study used a single case A-B-A design. Psychological well-being and NIP measured using NIP checklist and psychological well-being checklist. Visual inspection and descriptive analysis were used. The result indicated that NIP therapy increased the psychological well being of married women with idiopathic infertility, marked by the increasing of NIP values of the two participants.

Abstract

Distress in parenting can cause a parent’s emotional reactions, perceptual bias, and influence negative parenting behavior. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the Mindful Parenting Program on the parenting stress changes of single-parent whom parenting a child with multiple disabilities. The single-subject design was used in this study by considering the unique characteristics of the individual participant. The research data were obtained using stress parenting scale, mindful parenting scale, daily self-report, observation, and interview. The results showed the effect of the Mindful Parenting Program that was emerged only temporary changes in stress parenting of single-parent whom parenting a child with multiple disabilities. The participant experiences a temporary increase of mindful parenting skills that showed the changes in participant’s awareness of physical sensation, emotions, thoughts, and parenting behavior which related to the changes in parenting stress. Further research’s needed.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of illumination on stress and productivity. The research subjects were 60 employees of Purworejo X Plant located in the final part of final eyelash cutting. Stages of data analysis in this study, by studying data productivity level and employee stress before and after the treatment using statistical techniques T. Test.  The results showed that the change in lighting intensity of Kepmenkes standard numb. 1405 in 2002 amounted to 1000 lux to 2000 lux according to the standard of Illuminating Engineering Society based on experiments that have been done to increase employee productivity as much as 22% (pre: M: 74.39, SD: 4.35, post: M: 105.48, SD: 9.77) and reduce stress levels from employees as much as 11% (pre: M: 3.8367, SD: 0.171, post: M: 2.9313, SD: 0.18001). The conclusion of this experiment is an increase in lighting level of 1000 lux in accordance with the work of more detail can increase work productivity and reduce employee stress levels.

Abstract

Teacher’s social-emotional competence has a significant role in effective teaching. The many challenges faced by teachers such as student’s negligent, student’s misbehavior, and various classroom dynamics make teachers often experience negative emotions, such as frustration and anger. The challenge becomes greater when teachers have an inclusive class. Emotional intelligence training is one of way to improve this social-emotional competence. This study aims to develop and test the validity of CARE module for primary school teachers, especially in inclusive schools. The content validity test will use Aiken’s V for the data analysis. The empirical test will be conducted by using quasi-experimental with untreated control group design with dependent pretest and posttest. Result shows that CARE module has good content validity with Aiken’s V 0.75-0.96, but emotional intelligence not significantly improved U (n=16) = 21, p >.05, in experiment group (M=12) than control group (M=1,9).
