Jurnal Adjektiva: Educational Languages and Literature Studies (2622-6022) well-known as Adjektiva is an forum for original research on linguistics, literature, eduaction an international forum for original research focused on identities as local contexts, like an identity in linguistics, identity in literature, and identity in language education in global and local contexts, especially in Indonesia. These may include but are not limited to various fields, such as we are interested in interdisciplinary studies examining how issues of linguistics, literature, and education in language influence individual and community identities. In order to publish in Adjektiva, a study must have an overview of previous research or theoretical concepts that are packaged to justify the novelty/uniqueness of this study and central focus on local, foreign, minority, heritage, or indigenous languages (or non-standard dialects) and their intersection with either identity and/or education in language, linguistics and literature. We welcome a variety of topics, theoretical orientations, and methodological approaches (both qualitative and quantitative). Studies that highlight the potential of Linguistics and Applied Linguistics (e.g. Phonology, Morphology, Syntax, Sociolinguistics, Psycholinguistics, Anthropolinguistics, Ethnolinguistics, Stylistics, Dialectology, LHK, Psychopragmatics, etc.). Critical studies of Literature (e.g. Digitizing literature, new literary theories, applied literature). Identity in language and literature(e.g. Ethnic Identity, vocational identity, job identity, religious identity, moral identity, political identity, etc.). Research on innovations or on the effectiveness of various language education program models (e.g. Learning Curriculum, Learning Strategies, Learning Assessment, BIPA, International Language Coaching).

Abstract

Changes in the context of speech or discourse can often result in errors in the use of deixis in a speech or discourse. This encourages to know the meaning of the speech or discourse. In newspapers, especially opinion rubrics, the proper use of deixis can make the newspaper easier to understand. Opinion is a journalistic product which is writing about the views or opinions of someone from various professions. This study aims to examine the form of deixis in the August 2019 edition of the Kaltim Post opinion rubric and its function as teaching materials for Indonesian language learning in high school. This research is a qualitative research with descriptive method. The source of the data comes from the August 2019 edition of the Kaltim Post daily opinion rubric. The data was obtained using the listening and note-taking technique. The results of this study are 1) found 5 types of deixis namely personal deixis (me, us, you, he, him, them) social deixis (lecturers, pilgrims, Bappenas), place deixis (this and that), time deixis (last week, this year, 2045 later) and discourse deixis (anaphora and cataphora) 2) opinion rubric meets the criteria as teaching materials for editorial text learning in high school.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the form of affixes, affixation (the processof affixing), and the meaning of affixes in the Dayak Kenyah dialect of Lepo’ Jalan in Sungai Bawang Culture Village. This research is a qualitative research. This qualitative descriptive research method was used because: this study explains and describes the form of affixes, affixation (the process of affixing), and the meaning of affixes. Data collection was carried out using the look method with advanced techniques listening engagement technique, speaking involvement free listening technique, recording technique, and note-taking technique. Based on data analysis, the resultof research and discussion can be cocluded (1) there are 11 (eleven)forms of affixes for the Dayak Kenyah dialect of Lepo’ Jalan in Sungai Bawang Cultural Village, (2) affixation (process of affixing)Dayak Kenyah dialect Lepo’ Jalan in Sungai Bawang Cultural Village. The word is formed from two elements, namely affixes that attach of the basic word or basic form so that affixed words are formed, (3) the meaning of affixes for the Dayak Kenyah languange in the Lepo’ Jalan dialect in the Cultural Village Sungai Bawang means doing something, stating an action, stating a situation, making something, and stating information.

Abstract

Groups in society use jargon to communicate using their own more specific language, therefore they can foster a sense of ownership or loyalty to a particular group. Jargon is usually used so that gamers know the meaning of a certain group word in a group of people or to show identity. them, for example in playing the PUBG Mobile Game, researchers feel the need for deepening of the forms and benefits of terms that are often not understood by community groups in general. Jargon shows how many options are available. The place you live in, the age you have, the social level you occupy can show the diversity of language variations. This study aims to (1) describe the form of jargon used in the PUBG Mobile online game community in the city of Samarinda. (2) Describe the meaning of jargon used in the PUBG Mobile online game community in the city of Samarinda. (3) Describe the function of the jargon used in the PUBG Mobile online game community in the city of Samarinda. The research method used is a qualitative descriptive research method and the data that becomes the object is the language jargon used by the PUBG mobile online game community. The data collection techniques were observation, note taking, recording, and direct fishing. Based on the results of data analysis, the forms of jargon found in this research are the basic Indonesian word form, reduplication form, abbreviation form, acronym form and adaptation form. The meaning found in this study is in the form of lexical meaning and contextual meaning. The function of the PUBG Mobile game community jargon is to facilitate communication between PUBG Mobile players.

Abstract

The results of the study found locutionary speech acts in the form of stating or informing something. Illocutionary speech acts consist of: (1) assertive illocutionary speech acts, including stating, complaining, proposing, and expressing opinions; (2) directive illocutionary speech acts, including ordering, requesting, and giving advice; (3) commissive illocutionary speech acts, including threatening, promising, offering, and expressing ability; (4) expressive illocutionary speech acts, including praising, accusing, apologizing, and insinuating; (5) declarative illocutionary speech acts, including justifying, forbidding, and allowing. Perlocutionary speech acts consist of: making the speech partner know, making the speech partner wait, making the speech partner answer, making the speech partner refuse, making the speech partner happy, making the speech partner work, making the speech partner assume they agree, making the speech partner afraid, making the speech partner disappointed, making the speech partner follow suggestions and activities, making the speech partner believe, encouraging the speech partner, and making the speech partner hopeful. While the politeness scale in the speech of children and parents is the scale of loss and gain, the scale of choice, the scale of indirectness, the scale of authority, and the scale of social distance.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe the forms and types of deixis and the function of deixis reference contained in the conversation of the novel Aku Bulan Kamu Senja by Syafruddin Pernyata. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method with content analysis data processing. The data source in this study comes from the novel Aku Bulan Kamu Senja by Syafruddin Pernyata. The data collection technique used is the listening technique and the note-taking technique with the use of research instruments, namely data cards. The results showed that there are three forms of deixis in the novel Aku Bulan Kamu Senja by Syafruddin Pernyata, namely (1) morpheme deixis, (2) word deixis, and (3) phrase deixis, and five types of deixis, namely (1) deixis persona which is divided into three parts, namely (a) first person deixis plural and singular, (b) second person deixis plural and singular, and (c) third person deixis plural and singular, (2) time deixis includes time ( a) the occurrence of the incident, (b) the past, and (c) the future, (3) place deixis includes (a) the close distance to the speaker and speech partner, and b) the long distance from the speaker and speech partner, 4) Social deixis includes (a) language manners, and (5) discourse deixis includes (a) anaphora and (b) cataphora. The reference function of various types of deixis refers to the conversation contained in the novel according to the existing context.
