Abstract

Intercultural communication develops based on two interconnected premises. First, you live in a time when changing technology, travel, economic and political systems, immigration patterns, and population density have resulted in a world in which you regularly interact with people from different cultures. Second, nowadays, people are very sensitive to the fact that the influence of culture on communication is very close and great. Your cultural background and experience help you determine how the world should be for you and how you will interact with it. Anthropological perspective in intercultural communication is looking at intercultural communication from an anthropological point of view, because the communication already contains cultural values. Intercultural communication is part of the marriage between the disciplines of anthropology and communication which later became a separate discipline both in communication science and in anthropology. Anthropology is one of the fields of science that is the root or foundation of the birth of communication science. In subsequent developments, cultural experts realized the importance of communication in the cultural field. Keywords: Intercultural communication and in anthropological perspective

Abstract

Da'wah is an obligation for every Muslim, as Allah sent His Prophets and Messengers to spread the message of da'wah to all corners of the earth. The man was created as a caliph or leader on earth, with the aim of always worshiping Him. Da'wah is an invitation, a call, a call for humans to the way of Allah. Talking about da'wah, the context is not only always delivered by lecture, or verbal delivery, but can be in written form. Along with the times, technology and information media have also developed. Da'wah must always develop in conveying it, one of which is through the mass media. The media has the power to lead public opinion, especially Muslims who make up the largest population in Indonesia. The press itself had developed in Minangkabau at the beginning of the 20th century as a forum for information from various fields, social, political, economic, and cultural which at that time were so dynamic. This great opportunity was also taken by the pioneering female figure of the National press, Rohana Kuddus. The movement of Rohana Kuddus in writing, especially in journalism, as well as being the first female journalist in Indonesia, is so massive to voice women's rights. Rohana Kuddus used her pen as a weapon against injustice as well as a form of defense against women who were still very limited at that time. So Rohana Kuddus used da'wah through writing which was realized by establishing the first newspaper which was managed directly by women as a forum for expressing thoughts, implying a fighting spirit, as well as special da'wah messages for women. Rohana Kuddus was determined to establish the first women's newspaper in Indonesia, Soenting Melajoe, assisted by Datuk Sutan Maharadja, which was published in 1912-1921. Interpersonal skill (interpersonal ability) is the ability to recognize and respond appropriately to one's feelings, attitudes and behavior, motivations and desires. This ability is very necessary because in everyday life it is almost impossible for humans not to relate to other people. In the scheme of living together arises the need to understand the needs of other human beings. Good and effective interpersonal communication skills are needed by humans so that they can carry out all their activities smoothly. Especially when someone performs activities in formal situations, for example in a work environment. Abstract

The development strategy determines the communication strategy, so the meaning of development communication also depends on the capital or development paradigm chosen. Development is a process whose emphasis is on harmony between aspects of outward progress and inner satisfaction. When viewed in terms of communication science which also studies the problem of the process, namely the process of delivering one's message to others to change attitudes, opinions and behavior. So development basically involves at least three components, namely development communicators (either government officials or the community), development messages containing development ideas or programs and development communicators, namely the wider community of development targets. The development of Indonesian society is pragmatic, namely a pattern that generates innovation for the present and the future. The communication function is at the forefront of changing attitudes and behavior of Indonesian people as the main actors of development, both as subjects and as objects of development. Abstract

Discourse analysis is a field of study that examines the meanings conveyed by a person's words, sentences, or other utterances, whether they are spoken out or written down. According to Fairclough, discourse has three outcomes. Discourse, in the first place, aids in the formation of social identity and subject position. Both discourses contribute to the formation of interpersonal relationships. Thirdly, discourse has a role in the formation of knowledge and belief structures. Particularly in the Industrial Revolution 4.0 Era, when the internet has evolved into one of the most fundamental human necessities, social media development is accelerating. Social engagement takes place not only in person, but also frequently online or virtually. The public is quite fond of a number of social media sites, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, Tiktok, and others. Keywords: Analysis, Discourse, Social Media

Abstract

Semiotics or semiotics are terms that refer to the same science. Semiotics is commonly used by American scholars, although the term semiotics is more commonly used in Europe. Semiotics comes from the Greek word semeion, which means 'sign', or the English sign, which means 'signal'. Semiotics is known as a science that studies sign language systems such as languages, codes, signals, and human language. Semiotics is the science of symbols. To be able to read and interpret these symbols, we need "language". Meaning is formed through a structured system of linguistic differences. Meaning is generated through the process of selecting and combining symbols around two axes, the syntagmatic axis (linear, for example sentences) and the paradigm axis (the arena of symbols such as synonyms) which are arranged in a marking system. This symbol consists of a signifier (medium) and a symbol (meaning) (Saussure, 1960). The purpose of semiotic analysis is to find the meaning of symbols, including what is hidden behind them (text, advertisements, news). Abstract

Along with the times and technology, the way of preaching has also changed. Compared to preaching through speech, currently preaching through writing is more urgent and effective to do, namely preaching using social media such as the internet and writings on social media that contain da'wah messages. The advantages of preaching with this model do not make the preaching material disappear even though the preacher, or the writer has died, as the expression of His Majesty Rasulullah SAW, "Indeed the ink of the scholars is better than the blood of the martyrs." However, the purpose of da'wah with this model will be realized if it is supported by effective media. This means that in the da'wah process the preachers do not only present material verbally, but also must deliver their da'wah material via social media so that the material can be read anywhere and anytime, as is the case with the role of social media today. If we look at da'wah at this time, it is necessary to have a critical and in-depth evaluation, because the styles, models, methods and media used also influence the implementation, direction, dynamics and implementation of da'wah. Given the importance of social media as a means of preaching, it is necessary to have specific strategies, methods and approaches for preachers in preaching regarding the use of social media as a means of conveying messages of Islamic da'wah. This journal will contribute thoughts to become an inspiration for preachers to use social media as a means of conveying da'wah messages. Keywords: Social Media, Da'wah, Effective
