Abstract

This study aims to analyze the value chain of cayenne pepper in Bulawa District and analyze the added value of marketing among value chain actors in Bulawa District, Bone Bolango Regency. The research method used to determine the sample of farmers is using the purposive sampling method while for the sample of traders using the snowball sampling method. . Respondents in this study were cayenne pepper farmers from selected villages in Bulawa District, namely 18 farmers in Mamungaa Village and 20 farmers in East Mamungaa Village. As for the respondents, there are 8 traders consisting of 1 wholesaler, 2 collectors, and 5 retailers. The data that has been collected is then analyzed using value chain analysis based on Porter's theory and value added marketing analysis. The results show that there are 6 stages of the value chain, starting from purchasing inputs for production facilities, cultivation, harvesting, processing and distribution to consumers. At the cayenne pepper value chain stage in Bulawa District, 4 main actors are involved, namely farmers, wholesalers, collectors and retailers. The value chain of cayenne pepper in Bulawa District is divided into two activities, namely main activities and supporting activities. In the main activity, farmers and traders have a good cooperative relationship and are not dependent even though they are not well organized in terms of price and also cayenne pepper production. In supporting activities, each chain actor has not developed and innovated technology to support the business. The cayenne pepper value chain flow is efficient, but the activities carried out are still simple. The marketing value added and the largest value added ratio are obtained by central market retailers because central market retailers take a larger marketing margin than other traders by minimizing the marketing costs incurred.

Abstract

This study aims to characterize the microbial species Azotobacter sp from peat soil in West Kalimantan, which can bind N, dissolve nutrients P, K and produce indole compounds. This research was carried out in the plant pest and disease laboratory, agronomy laboratory and greenhouse, Faculty of Agriculture, Tanjungpura University, Pontianak. This study used a non-factorial Randomized Block Design (RBD) with four levels of treatment. Inoculation of Azotobacter sp isolates was without inoculation of Azotobacter sp isolate (a0), inoculation of WH.3.2.d (a1) isolate, inoculation of Azotobacter sp isolate WH.2.4 (a2), inoculation of Azotobacter sp WH.3.1.l (a3). The study was carried out from September to November 2021. The results showed that Azotobacter sp inoculation significantly affected the parameters of vigor index, growth synchronously, primary root length, wet weight of normal sprouts, and plant height in the greenhouse. From the bioassay test results on seeds and growth testing for 15 days in a greenhouse, the two best isolates were obtained, namely WH.2.4 and WH.3.1.l isolates.

This study was conducted in Tawangagro Village, Karangploso District, Malang, East Java. The research data used primary data from as many as 40 onion farmers—data analysis using the Variable Return to Scale (VRS) and input-oriented Data Envelopment Analysis technique. The findings demonstrated the technical inefficiency of onion farming operations, with an average technical efficiency value assuming a CRS of 0.78 and an average technical efficiency value taking a VRS of 0.951. Associated with the Qur'an in the context of agriculture, the verse emphasizes that farmers should use inputs not excessively so that it causes waste in terms of capital or the use of input factors for their farming. There are 15 farmers with an efficiency scale of onion farmers (SE) equal to one, meaning that 37.5% of farmers are already farming with a constant return to scale, and 62.5% of other farmers are farming with an increasing scale of returns Farmers that have not been productive should change how they use their inputs to increase their efficiency. Thus the productivity of onion farming can also increase. To increase productivity, farmers should have an effective consultation helps to improve TE.

Abstract

Banggai sweet potato is a local food crop typical of the Banggai Laut area, which is currently experiencing a decline in production, so there is a need for an appropriate strategy to increase its production. This study aims to analyze the factors and their significance to the production of sweet potato production in Banggai Selatan District, Banggai Laut Regency. The research was conducted from June to August 2022 in Malino Village, South Banggai District, Banggai Laut Regency. The data collected consisted of primary data, namely direct interviews with respondents and secondary data obtained from the Banggai Laut District Agriculture Office. Data were analyzed with multiple linear regression formulas, F test, t-test, coefficient of determination, and correlation coefficient using SPSS 16.0 software. The results showed that based on the F test, the variable capital, labor and the number of seeds together significantly affected Banggai sweet potato production. The significance value of the capital variable is 0.218, and the number of seeds is 0.796, which is greater than α 0.05, which means that the capital variable and the number of seeds have no significant effect on Banggai sweet potato production. The labor significance value of 0.000 is less than α 0.01, meaning that the labor variable significantly affects Banggai sweet potato production. The correlation coefficient value of 0.864 means that the variables of capital, labor, and number of seeds strongly relate to Banggai sweet potato production. The coefficient of determination is 0.747, meaning that 74.7% of the variable capital, labor, and the number of seeds affect the Banggai sweet potato production variable. In comparison, the remaining 25.3% of Banggai sweet potato production is influenced by other variables not present in the model. Labor is an important factor that needs to be considered in the Banggai sweet potato farming process
