Al-Khazini: Journal of Physical Education is a peer-reviewed journal published twice a year (March and September) by the Department of Physical Education, Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training, Alauddin State Islamic University Makassar. Al-Khazini: Journal of Physics Education is an integrated forum to communicate the progress of science in the field of physics education. This journal reports significant new findings related to physics education; development of instructional media, development of learning methods, application of learning methods,and several applications of media in physics learning. Al-Khazini: Journal of Physical Education publishes comprehensive research articles and invites reviews from leading experts in their fields. Papers will be selected that have high scientific value, provide important new knowledge, and have high interest. Al-Khazini: The Indonesian Journal of Physics Education was only formed in 2021.

Abstract

This study aims to see the implementation of the problem solving learning model based on lesson study and to see the students' critical thinking skills and student responses after learning with the problem solving model. This research was conducted at the YABT Christian High School Manokwari in the 2021/2022 academic year. This research is a lesson study research with research subjects in class X IPA totaling 14 students. The research data collection technique used was a test in the form of critical thinking questions, non-test in the form of a response questionnaire to the learning model and activity observation sheets. The data analysis technique used is descriptive qualitative analysis, descriptive analysis of critical thinking, and questionnaire response analysis to the learning model using Rasch modeling. The research data were obtained from the results of observation sheets, critical thinking questions and questionnaire responses to the learning model. The results of the implementation of lesson study during the learning cycle I and cycle II showed that learning activities were well observed and showed good student responses, and increased critical thinking skills, seen from the results of tests and observations of observers. The critical thinking ability of students in solving problems is known through thinking analysis where the value of the 4 indicators is included in the sufficient criteria with an average value of 49.92. Then the results of the student response questionnaire in general indicate that in general students have a good response to learning.

Abstract

The transformation of 21st century education requires teachers as facilitators of students’ learning in schools to be able use the lates learning aids with easier access. Problem based learning model assisted by liveworksheet can be used as an option to train students’ 21st century skills as well as train their digital literacy skill which can alse increase their learning motivation. This research was carried out at SMP Negeri 2 Barombong in August – September 2022 with material on works, energy and simple machines. The population in this research were all students in class VIII SMP Negeri 2 Barombong totally 342 students occupy classes A-J so that by using the simple random sampling technique class VIII B was assigned as the experimental class and VIII C as the control class. The research instrument used a learning motivation questionnaire whose result were processed using descriptive analysis techniques and inferential analysis with independent samples t-test. The result of this research showed that the problem based learning model assisted by liveworsheet can be increase students’ learning motivation.

Abstract

Learning by utilizing the uniqueness of culture has been rampant to attract students. Starting from food, dance, and even traditional houses can be used as learning resources. Tongkonan is a traditional house typical of the Toraja tribe that has a unique culture that has been studied by many researchers in terms of history, culture and architecture. However, there are still few who relate it to science learning. This study aims to identify physics concepts contained in the Tongkonan traditional house that can be used as a source of physics learning. The method used in this research is qualitative research with the form of literature. The results showed that in the construction of Tongkonan traditional house, several physics concepts can be identified as physics learning resources, including density and elasticity associated with the main materials in the construction of Tongkonan traditional house. The concept of equilibrium of rigid bodies and rotational dynamics can be obtained in the installation of poles and the roof of the house. The concept of forces and pressure also discussed on the construction of the Tongkonan traditional house in the preparation of the roof and the meeting between the pole and the foundation.

Abstract

This research is a research and development which aims: (1) To develop and determine the validity level of the Science practicum module Earth and Space based on the generic science abilities of fifth semester students of the physics education study program. The development of the Earth and Space Science practicum module is carried out using the ADDIE development model. The stages in this study are limited only to the Development stage. Data collection techniques were obtained from 2 validators who were lecturers in the Physics Education Study Program, Alauddin State Islamic University Makassar. The data analysis technique used in the study only uses validity analysis. The results showed that: the Earth and Space Science practicum module based on generic science abilities that was developed met the valid criteria with an average value for all aspects of V = 0.86. Overall the value is categorized as "Very Valid" (˃0.8), so that the earth and space science practicum module based on generic science capabilities is declared to meet the validity criteria and is suitable for use.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the ability of students in solving structured descriptions of free body diagrams for students of class XI MIA, knowing the difficulties of students in solving structured descriptions of free body diagrams for students of class XI MIA of SMA Negeri 11 Sidrap. This type of research is a mix method with 31 research subjects with structured descriptions of free body diagrams, then the test result data is analyzed for the ability to solve free body diagrams. half the sample were interviewed. Then proceed qualitatively to find the difficulty factor from the structured description of the free body diagrams. The results of the research on the ability of students to solve structured descriptions of free body diagrams in class XI MIA students of SMA Negeri 11 Sidrap on average have abilities in the good category, namely 18 people. The difficulty factor for students in solving structured free body diagrams for students in class XI MIA SMA Negeri 11 Sidrap is because students lack understanding of material, formulas, determining the direction of style arrows, branching questions, difficult to analyze questions, and do not know the work rules of the questions. . The implication of this research is that it can contribute ideas in determining policies to improve the ability of students to solve structured descriptions of free body diagrams. This means that it is expected to be a contribution and a means of scientific consideration for making policies or decisions by school principals, educators to improve the ability of students to analyze description questions.

Abstract

This study aims to measure collaboration skills that appear in the realm of knowledge, skills and affective. Learning with independent flow approach, acronyms starting from self, concept exploration, collaboration space, guided reflection, contextual demonstration, understanding elaboration, connection between material, and real action. The research method using descriptive methods aims to answer or describe the state of collaboration skills of students of physics education at the PGRI Silampari university, Lubuklinggau city, which are taught in an independent flow. The object of research is 25 first semester students who are taking basic physics courses in the odd semester of the 2022/2023 period. The research instrument was in the form of a test in the realm of knowledge and non-test in the form of the domain of skills and attitudes. Instruments in the form of tests and non-diagnosis tests of collaboration skills. The descriptive data analysis technique aims to explain the data that has been obtained after collecting data on collaboration skills for all students. The results showed that the average achievement of collaboration skills in the realm of knowledge was 72.5% of students understood the concept and 27.5% had difficulty analyzing mathematical calculations in finding the measured quantity. The average achievement of student collaboration skills in the realm of skills is 45% of students are skilled as expected, 25% are skilled and 20% are starting to be skilled and 10% of students are not yet skilled. The average achievement of collaboration skills in the realm of attitude shows that 53.75% of students are developing as expected, 18.75% are developing and 27.5% are starting to develop.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the level of critical thinking skill of students who are taught with the SQ3R learning model (Survey, Question, Read, Recite Review) and conventional learning models combined with reading literacy, knowing the differences in critical thinking skills of students who are taught with SQ3R learning model (Survey, Question, Read, Recite Review) and those taught with conventional learning models combined with reading literacy and to find out the effectiveness of the SQ3R learning model combined with reading literacy on critical thinking skills. This research is a type of quasi-experimental research, with a Nonequivalent Control Group research design. The sample of this study was students at SMAN 1 Maros consisting of two classes selected using a purposive sampling technique, namely class XI IPA 2 as the control class and class XI IPA 3 as an experimental class. The instruments used are tests of critical thinking skills, observation sheets and questionnaires. The data analysis technique used is descriptive data analysis, the mean difference test with the independent sample t-test and the N-Gain test. The results showed that the average critical thinking ability of students in the experimental class was 36.64 in the pre-test and 79.80 in the post-test while for the controller class, the value of the pre-test was 41.09 and the post-test was 79.53. From the average pre-test to post-test results in the experimental class increased by 43.16 while the control class increased by 38.44. The results of the average difference test for critical thinking skills obtained a significance of 0.001 < 0.05, which means that there is a significant difference in critical thinking skills between the experimental class and the control class. From the results of the N-gain test for the experimental class it was 67 in the quite effective category and for the controller class it was 65 in the quite effective category. Thus, from the results of data analysis, it can be concluded that the use of the SQ3R model (Survey, Question, Read, Recite Review) combined with reading literacy is quite effective in increasing critical thinking skills.

Abstract

Physics is a field of study that is least favored by all people. This is because the understanding of physics is only limited to theories and difficult formulas. This research aims to change the paradigm that physics is difficult. There are many applications of physics, one of which is the water rocket experiment. The research activity is carried out by designing the water rocket and then making it. The water rocket is then tested to determine its stability. The finished water rocket product is used for accompanying activities in science laboratory practice. The learning method used in this activity is the field experiment method. The students are involved directly in the practical process.
