Abstract

The objective of this research is to determine the orientation of the market (customer orientation, competitor orientation and coordination between functions). This research conducted for three months, since February to April 2016. The data used in this research is the primary data taken using a survey method using a questionnaire that by distributing questionnaires to employees and manager. A questionnaire was used to determine the customer orientation, competitor orientation and coordination between functions. Based on the results of research conducted at the Five Star UD, it can be concluded that Five Star has captured the market orientation that is good with market orientation value of 64.31 persent. UD's market orientation on customer orientation is said to be good in that understanding of these UD on the wishes of customers, know what customers want, satisfaction and create value for customers. In the competitor orientation, this UD could respond to acts of competitors, competitive advantage to seize opportunities, and try to improve and find a strategy to fight its competitors. While in the coordination between functions, workers has contributed to the strategy of Five Star UD and the customer value creation, mutual cooperation among workers, and has understood the needs of customers so as to create satisfaction for its customers.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the perception of the role of farmers in the village agricultural extension Rasi, District Ratahan, Southeast Minahasa Regency. The study was implemented for 4 months, namely from March to June 2016. This study uses primary data and secondary data. The primary data obtained through interviews with farmers based on a list of questions (questionnaire), while secondary data obtained from the Office of Agricultural Extension Agency for Fisheries and Forestry (BP3K), District Ratahan, Southeast Minahasa Regency. The sampling method in this study is using a non-probability. Analysis of data using a Likert Scale based on the answers of 25 questions to measure the perception of the role of farmers to extension workers with total respondents as many as 36 people. These results indicate that the total score of the level of farmers' perceptions of the role of agricultural extension for 3678 and are in the perception index of 81 percent, thus the perception of farmers as very good. Perception is in excellent farmers also on an indicator of increased productivity results, level of innovation ease of extension can be easily put into practice, the results of innovation extension can be easily seen or observed, productivity increased output is larger than before farmers using agricultural extension innovation.

Abstract

This study aims to describe how the development of a culinary efforts and make an assessment as the basis to determine the culinary business development. This study began in March until June 2016. This research located in "Waroeng Makan Tepi Laut", Kawasan Mega Mas, Kota Manado. The data collected in this research included primary data and secondary data. The primary data obtained from interviews with managers, managers and employees. And also interview based questionnaire on the visitors / customers as many as 15 people. Secondary data was collected from the Office of Administration “Waroeng Makan Tepi Laut”. The results of this study indicate that “Waroeng Makan Tepi Laut” has a strategic business location, the menu selection is varied, the prices offered can be affordable, quality service owned “Waroeng Makan Tepi Laut” is quite good, has a typical menu favored by the customers / visitors, ample parking location and stage music favored by the customers / visitors.

Abstract

This study aimed to describe marketing papaya fruit on each marketing channel in the village Matungkas Village, North Minahasa District. The research was conducted from February to April 2016. The data used are primary data. The research was done by using purposive sampling with the total number of respondents 45 people. Analysis of the data used is descriptive to portray marketing channels and marketing margin analysis and farmer share. The results showed that there are three patterns of marketing channels, namely: (1) marketing channels first (farmer-traders-retailers) with a marketing margin on the first channel of Rp 8.64 million / trip and farmer share of 40.00 percent. (2) a second marketing channel (farmers, retailers, the district / province) with a marketing margin on retailers in the district amounted to Rp 4,200,000 and farmer share of 58.82 percent, while the marketing margin on retailers in the province amounted to Rp 9.6 million / trip and farmer share of 50.00 percent. (3) The third marketing channel (farmer-consumer) with a marketing margin of Rp 2,400,000 and farmer share 100 percent. The most efficient marketing channel is channel marketing and channel marketing two third is the channel which is very profitable for farmers.

Abstract

The objective of research is to compare how much the average income per hectare of farms mixture by grouping types of plants in the Airmadidi Bawah Village. This research was conducted in the Airmadidi Bawah urban village for 3 months, from September to November 2015 with the method of data collection by using primary data. Samples taken were 15 for each farming mix using cluster random sampling technique. To determine the ratio mix used farm income analysis tool SPSS by using t-test. The results showed that there were significant differences between 1st mixed farming with 2nd mixed farming; the average income per hectare of 1st mixed farming Rp. 35.921.389,- was higher than the average income per hectare of 2nd mixed farming Rp. 30.430.699,- Results of testing the hypothesis 1st mixed farming and 2nd mixed farming shows the t-test (4.910) > t-table (1,761). From the test results, Ho is rejected and H1 is accepted, it means that there are differences in the average income per hectare of the 1st mixed farming and 2nd mixed farming.jnkd

Abstract

This study aims to describe how farmers carry out a strategy of life on three groups of farmer: upper layer, middle layer and peasant farmers to finance their family daily life. This research was conducted in the urban village of Pandu, Sub-District Bunaken, Manado City. Most of them live from farming activities. The research was conducted in November 2015 through to March 2016. The primary data obtained from interviews to three (3) groups. Selection of the sample is purposive stratified sampling. Each group selected five respondents, so a total of 15 respondents. Collection of secondary data derived from the Urban Village Office of Pandu, Manado City. The results showed that the upper and middle groups of farmers tend to apply the accumulation strategy while consolidation strategy was not found. The two groups have incomes that exceed the needs of farming and of the results they could buy a cow, land or other assets. While farmers lower group implement survival strategies. This farmersgroup use their earnings for the daily needs of the family and the other half to farm. Limited income makes farmers can not save even they have to borrow money to supplement the family income either eat or buy school supplies for children.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the magnitude of paddy rice farm income and determine how the feasibility of paddy rice farming by the harvest season in Taratara One Village, West Tomohon Sub-district, Tomohon City. The research was carried on three months, from Februari to April 2016, which is located in Taratara One Village. The Samples of farmers is using simple random sampling method (simple random). Data analysis in this research using descriptive analysis with the help of the table, and to determine the amount of income using the formula: I = TR – TC. And the feasibility of farming using analysis of return ratio by the formula: a = R : C. Based on the analysis, the average farm income of paddy rice farmer managed respondents in Taratara One Village by harvest season for the first harvest season 1 (one) Rp. 22,664,971.19 per hectare and the second harvest 2 (two) Rp. 18,541,100.85 per hectare. Rated Ratio/Cost for the first harvest season one (1) by 3.46 and harvest 2 (two) of 2.83. Based decision rule if the value of R/C is more than one, it means paddy rice farming can provide benefits and well work the effort.

Abstract

The objective of research is to examine Social Capital based on the elements of norm, network, trust, reciprocity, and values of the Esa Waya and Sinar Mas farmer groups. This research was conducted from May 2016 until July 2016, started from preparation until report compilation. The data used were in the form of primary data and secondary data. This research was carried out with purposive sampling technique. Fifty percent members of the population every farmer group. They are 11 members of Esa Waya group and 8 members of Sinar Mas group. Data analysis was done descriptively, served with using the table and then be interpreted. The result showed that, those elements of norm, network, trust, reciprocity, and values, social capital able to improve the existence and solidarity on the Esa Waya farmer group. The opposite, social capital has been reduced even has no longer on the Sinar Mas farmer group so that Sinar Mas farmer group was not progressed. In addition, the other factor is the age of Esa Waya group younger then Sinar Mas group. The education levels of the Esa Waya group higher than Sinar Mas group.

Abstract

This research aims to determine and describe how farm-workers can survive by social strategy as their strategy. From the three elements of social capital, that’s trust, norms, and networks, which one has the greater influence for a survival strategy of Kopiwangker farm-workers in village. This research was conducted over five months, from February until June 2016 started from preparation until making research reports. This study has used primary data and secondary data. The number of respondents is 30 respondents of whom are farm-workers. The sampling method which used in this research is purposive sampling and data analysis method used is descriptive qualitative which quantified using the Likert Scale. The results of this research indicate that social capital can be a survival strategy for Kopiwangker village farm-workers, especially on the elements of the network (patron-client networks) because it has the highest score, that is 450. But according to several informants that ever happened was also a problem among some farm-workers (as clients) and patrons, but always can be resolved.

Abstract

This study aims to determine how the participation of members of farmers in farm management. The research was carried on in the Matani village of District Tumpaan of South Minahasa regency. Data used in this study are primary data and secondary data. The primary data obtained through direct interviews with respondents, while secondary data obtained from the district office Tumpaan. The sampling technique used was proportional stratified random sampling. The group was divided into two strata , farmer groups and farmer groups. The number of samples taken farmer group is three farmer groups, one advanced farmer group (Karisma) and 2 beginners farmer groups (Beringin and Bina Karya), each farmer groups in the capture of 10 members. The variable that is measured in this study is the participation of members of farmers in the planning, implementation, and controlling by using Likert scale. Analysis of the data used in this research is descriptive analysis. The results showed that, the participation of members of farmers in farm management from planning, implementation, and oversight is high.
