Abstract

The purpose of this cross-sectional study done between December 2009 and February 2010 is to identify which factors are connected with the perception of public transit drivers regarding road safety. According to the results of the study, the elements linked with angkutan kota drivers' opinions of road safety are their knowledge of road safety, their motivation towards road safety, and their experience with accidents and tickets while driving. While the knowledge variable is the most influential factor influencing public transit drivers' perceptions of road safety, other variables also play a role. This indicates that angkutan kota drivers with greater knowledge are 3,790 times more likely to have a positive perception than those with less information. Therefore, it is suggested that angkutan kota owners and related parties (Police and Road Transport Traffic Office), if they want to improve the perception of angkutan kota drivers to drive more safely, build the knowledge and motivation of angkutan kota drivers by holding trainings and mini-workshops on the dangers of accidents while driving.

Abstract

Eye tiredness, according to medical science, is a symptom induced by excessive efforts of the visual system, which is not in perfect condition, to attain visual clarity. Pain or throbbing around the eyes, blurred vision, double vision, difficulty focusing, sore eyes, red eyes, watery eyes, headaches, and dizziness accompanied by nausea are all symptoms of eyestrain. According to a study conducted by the Japanese Ministry of Health (2004), 91.6% of computer operators complained of eye fatigue. This study is quantitative and employs a cross-sectional research approach. According to the findings, the majority of computer users complain of eye fatigue. Furthermore, there is a relationship between age and lighting level with complaints of eye fatigue among computer users at PT. Telekomunikasi Indonesia, Tbk's Corporate Customer Care Center (C4) in 2009 with a Pvalue of 0.023 and the lighting level variable has an OR value of 30.00, indicating that the lighting level has a risk of 30 times the incidence of complaints of eye fatigue in computer user workers at C4 PT. Telekomunikasi Indonesia, Tbk. The variables refractive error, eye rest, and monitor distance have no correlation with complaints of eye tiredness. To alleviate worker complaints of eye fatigue, The company's advice is to offer lighting in accordance with the required standards for computer workplaces, namely 300 Lux, and to conduct periodic eye checks for employees. When working with a computer, workers should avoid wearing contact lenses because eye fatigue will be felt more rapidly. Meanwhile, future researchers are likely to use a reaction timer to objectively assess eye fatigue and a case-control study design to evaluate other characteristics connected to eye fatigue.

Abstract

There is evidence that catechins and aqueous extracts of the gambir plant (Uncaria gambier Roxb.) has antibacterial action. The purpose of this research was to further evaluate the antibacterial activity of (+)- catechins and an aqueous extract of gambir against Shigella flexneri, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Escherichia coli, Proteus vulgaris, and Proteus mirabilis. As part of the procedures that were carried out, sensitivity testing to gram-negative bacteria was performed to validate the activity. antimicrobial (+)- catechins and gambier water extract, calculation of the Minimum Inhibitory Concentration (MIC), and analysis of the mechanism of inhibition against gram-negative bacteria were all part of this study. The findings of this research show that the minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) level for (+)- catechins against Shigella flexneri bacteria is 7.5 mg/ml. The mechanism of action of (+)- catechins is to disrupt cell membranes, which then leads to the leakage of cell components. Ca2+ ions and K+ ions, together with proteins and nucleic acids, were found to be present in the bacterial cell medium, which provided evidence that this was the case. In the meantime, the macrodilution technique revealed that the gambier water extract did not exhibit any inhibitory effect at any concentration up to 25 mg/ml

Abstract

According to the Indonesian Ministry of Health, certification is done to improve the quality of health services and boost public trust. According to a preliminary study completed in 2014, the accreditation status of the Jakarta Hajj Hospital still uses the 2009 accreditation, thus it is classified as expired because the three-year limit has passed. According to interviews. However, the implementation of the 2012 edition of the accrediting standard has been several months behind schedule. This study seeks to provide an overview of the organization's readiness to earn the 2012 edition of certification on patient safety goals. This study is qualitative in nature. Purposive sampling was used to choose research informants. In this study, the informants included one member of the SKP accrediting working group, two nurses, one pharmacy unit section, and two patients. To improve study validity, sources, techniques, and data are triangulated. The Patient Safety Goals are comprised of six objectives, according to the 2012 accreditation. Consisting of accurate patient identification, improved communication, greater drug safety, certainty of the correct location for the right procedure for the right patient, infection control, and a reduction in the danger of patients falling. The operator rarely noted the place of the procedure with an unique marker, and the hospital did not have records for monitoring and evaluating patients at risk of falling, according to the six guidelines. Meanwhile, for other goals, documentation and implementation have been completed. In order to reduce the risk of patients falling, the Jakarta Hajj Hospital must conduct more intense and convincing socialization about marking the site of procedures, as well as full monitoring and assessment papers

Abstract

Testosterone undecanoate, sometimes known as TU, is a medication that is hydrophobic. A microemulsion is a type of dispersion system that can boost the medications' solubility, especially those that are hydrophobic. In this investigation, the optimization of microemulsion formulations was carried out using a wide variety of surfactants, oils, cosurfactants, and water in their respective proportions. After that, a microemulsion was created with the following components: 30% tween 80 and 10% tween 20 as surfactant components, 24% isopropyl myristate (IPM) and 24% castor oil (CO) as oil phase, 10% n-butanol as a cosurfactant, and 2% water. The oil phase consisted of isopropyl myristate and castor oil. The findings obtained from the TU After being stored at 4o C and 27o C for two months, the examination of the microemulsion revealed that it remained in a stable condition

Abstract

Hypercholesterolemia is a condition characterized by increased level of cholesterol in the blood exceeding the normal threshold. Gambir (Uncari gambir Roxb.) contains chemical compounds, namely flavonoid, specifically catechin. Catechin in gambir has the potential to increase fat metabolism therefore it has the potential to reduce cholesterol level in the body of mice. The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of gambir catechin on cholesterol levels in hypercholesterolemic mice. The study is an experiment with a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with two control groups and three treatment groups those are K negative was not given treatment, K positive was induced by simvastatin after induction of a high-fat diet, P1, P2 and P3 were induced by catechin with different concentrations of 50%, 80% and 90% after being induced by a high-fat diet. Cholesterol level was checked with Easy touch GCU. Data was analyzed by One Way of Variance (ANOVA) followed by 5%-degree DMRT test. The result shows that gambir catechin has the effect (p<0.05) on reducing cholesterol level in hypercholesterolemic patients. The most effective using of catechin with the level of concentration of catechin is at 90%.

Abstract

It is necessary to have standardized instruments that validity and reliability to ensure the data to be collected. This research to test the validity and reliability of the knowledge, attitude and behavior questionnaire on dengue fever prevention. This study used a quantitative method with a cross sectional design. The population were patients with diagnoses of DD, DHF, and DSS based on Rowosari Health Center medical record data for January 2022-January 2023 as many as 248 people. The samples taken were 30 people from Tembalang, Meteseh, Bulusan and Kramas Villages by simple random sampling methode. Data collection was carried out using a questionnaire. Validity test is done by Pearson Product Moment test. The questionnaire valid if the r count value is > from r table with a correlation value > 0,361. The reliability test was declared reliable if value >0,600 with Cronbach's Alpha analysis. Result for knowledge, attitude and behavior questionnaire item are  16 from 20 statements,  14 from 15, and 9 from 10 statements item are valid with R Count Pearson Correlation Value > 0,361. Test the reliability of knowledge, attitude and behavior variables with Cronbach's Alpha value of 0,774 ; 0,815 and 0,818 > 0,600 so that all statement items are reliable. Questionnaire can be used as a reference to measure knowledge, attitude and behavior on dengue fever prevention

Abstract

Caring behavior is a person's act of caring for others who are attentive, provide comfort, sensitive, responsible and honest with themselves and others. Caring behavior is very important in nursing actions, a nurse's caring attitude which is based on caring, empathy, sensitivity and responsibility in providing nursing care can increase patient satisfaction, this can affect the quality of nursing services. Therefore, the nurse as someone who cares for the patient must act with care. This study aims to describe the caring behavior of nurses in nursing services in the Surgical Room of Santa Elisabeth Hospital Medan in 2022. This study used a descriptive research design using a convenience sampling technique with a total sample of 41 respondents. The instrument used was the nurse's caring behavior questionnaire. The results showed that the caring behavior of nurses was in the very good category, with a total of 41 respondents (100.0%). Therefore, for nurses to maintain caring behavior for patients.

Abstract

Hypertension is a disease or disorder in which the blood vessels experience a continuous increase in pressure. Due to an increase in blood pressure which is getting higher, the heart will work hard to pump blood, to avoid this from being bad for the heart and other organs, it is necessary to do treatment, namely by obediently taking the medicine that has been recommended by the doctor. Compliance with taking medication is the behavior of patients who obey all advice and instructions recommended by medical personnel, such as doctors and pharmacists regarding everything that must be done to achieve treatment goals. This type of research uses descriptive research methods. The sampling technique in this study was to use a purposive sampling technique with a total of 30 respondents. The research instrument used was a questionnaire Morisky Medical Adherencem Scale (MMAS-8). The results of this study indicate that of the 30 respondents, 21 respondents (70.0%) took medication in the high category and the least moderate adherence was 9 respondents (30.0%). It is hoped that the results of this study can become material or learning material for nursing students to control blood pressure in hypertensive patients.

Abstract

Premenstrual syndrome (PMS) is a collection of symptoms experienced by women before their menstrual period, which is 7-14 days before menstruation and will disappear at the beginning of menstruation, causing pain or swelling in the breasts, aches and pains, headaches, etc. Several factors that influence premenstrual syndrome are age at menarche, knowledge, body mass index and stress. The purpose of the study is to identify the factors that influence premenstrual syndrome (PMS) in on of IPA class XII of SMAN 1 Uluan 2022. The research method was descriptive research, the number of respondents are 57 people. The sampling technique is total sampling. The results obtained that some respondents experienced late menstruation at the age of >13 years, namely the majority were 26 people (45.6%) and the minority is at the age of early menarche <11 years, namely 8 people (14%). The results of data from 57 respondents who have good knowledge are 19 people (33.33%), 33 people (58%), and less are 5 people (8.5%). the results of 57 respondents, namely the majority had a normal body mass index (BMI) of 28 people (49%) and the minority had a body mass index (BMI) of obesity II as many as 2 people (3.5%). The results of the 57 respondents are the severe majority as many as 44 people (77.2%) and the mild minority as many as 13 people (22.8%). It is expected that on of IPA class XII of SMAN 1 Uluan 2022 can play an active role in reducing premenstrual syndrome problems, consuming healthy foods, avoiding foods that are taboo during menstruation. Regular exercise to reduce stress and deepen knowledge about premenstrual syndrome.
