Introduction & Aim: The Emergency Department (ED) is one of the spearheads of hospital health services aimed at providing first aid for patients. Providing emergency services to reduce morbidity and mortality rates it requires the ability of nurses to sort out patients who need help first, this sorting is called Triage. This community service aims to provide education on the implementation of triage on the level of knowledge of the patient's family in the ED. Method of Activity: Implementation of community service at the ED of Adi Husada Kapasari Hospital, January 2023, the target is the patient's family. The method of providing education on the implementation of triage to the patient's family is with lectures and media leaflets. The first stage collects the patient's family and gives a questionnaire sheet. The second stage is the delivery of material and discussion of questions and answers about the implementation of triage, as well as giving questionnaires. Results: A total of 10 representatives of the patient's family members participated. Characteristics based on age showed that half (50%) were aged 36-45 years, based on gender the majority (60%) were female, and based on education the majority (80%) had high school/vocational high school education. Knowledge of the patient's family before being given triage education showed that most (60%) had less knowledge, whereas after being given triage education most (60%) had good knowledge about triage. Discussion: Providing education on the implementation of triage to the patient's family is very useful, and has proven to be able to provide information as well as understanding regarding health service procedures in the ED, families better understand the actions given to their family members while in the ED, and can change the behavior and perceptions of the patient's family towards the procedure given by ED health workers.

Abstract

Introduction & Aim: Physical changes in the elderly include the musculoskeletal system, where there is a decrease in the production of synovial fluid as a joint lubricant causing impaired joint movement. Joint disorders are characterized by symptoms of joint stiffness or pain when moving. So far, activities at the elderly integrated service post (posyandu) include promotive and preventive activities. Still, the material presented has not shown any screening or early detection of joint stiffness due to osteoarthritis, even though many elderly people complain of joint stiffness and pain. Therefore, the purpose of this community service activity is to make the elderly remain active independently (LAMAR) to detect early symptoms of osteoarthritis using a goniometer. Method of Activity: This community service activity was carried out in February 2023 in the RW 7 area, Kapasan Village, Simokerto District, Surabaya City. The activity begins with an initial assessment of the elderly who are members of the elderly posyandu in the area. The activities carried out included the initial socialization of the LAMAR program, implementation of counseling, conducting early detection demonstrations, and program evaluation. The results of the screening were then processed using computer software. Results: The knowledge of the elderly after being given counseling on the Independent Active Elderly program through the media of booklets, power points, and goniometer teaching aids has been shown to increase where the statistical test results were p = 0.002 (α≤0.05) from 48% of respondents with sufficient and insufficient knowledge to 100% with a good level of knowledge. Discussion: The LAMAR (Independent Active Elderly) program will make the elderly productive, namely the elderly who are physically, mentally, and socially healthy. This can increase awareness/attention to the elderly in early detection of joint stiffness. The goniometer is used to measure and record the amount of joint movement actively or passively.

Abstract

Introduction & aim: Lean is a new breakthrough in the era of digitalization which is a process improvement method used to improve service products, high use of consumables (hereinafter referred to as BHP) in hospitals, stock inventory of drugs and medical devices in the treatment room every month and found a buildup of inventory of consumables. This community service aimed to identify the application of lean healthcare applications in the BHP inventory for nursing management. Method of Activity: In finding the root of the problem using fishbone diagrams, the scoring method was to prioritize issues to be resolved using SWOT Analysis. This community service was conducted in the Dhaha inpatient room of Gambiran Hospital, Kediri City with 22 medical and 2 non-medical personnel. Results: The application of lean healthcare in the Dhaha inpatient room, material management, pharmaceutical supplies, and household logistics was carried out continuously according to what nurses needed. However, after the implementation of lean healthcare, it begins with the implementation of 5S which regulates supplies according to patient needs, assigns items that are always used in patient services according to nurses every shift not every room, and puts or parks in places that are easy to reach. Efficient from inventory adjustments in the inpatient room in the form of Rp. 1,035,566. Discussion: The implementation of Lean Health Care "KANBAN" is an important thing to do sustainably because quality service is also obtained from effective and efficient services including inventory management.
