Abstract

In the modern business landscape driven by technology and information, this study explores the connections between Knowledge Management, Competitive Advantage, Organizational Culture, and Individual Performance among traditional batik craftsmen in Sidoarjo regency. The research, based on primary data collected from 73 questionnaires, rigorously tests hypotheses using regression analysis. Findings reveal that Knowledge Management positively influences Individual Performance, emphasizing the importance of effective knowledge utilization. Surprisingly, Competitive Advantage does not significantly impact Individual Performance in this context. Additionally, Organizational Culture negatively moderates the influence of Knowledge Management on Individual Performance, underlining the importance of aligning culture with knowledge practices. Notably, Organizational Culture does not effectively moderate the influence of Competitive Advantage on Individual Performance, highlighting the complex interplay between cultural factors and strategic advantages in the traditional batik industry. While limitations exist, such as extensive questionnaire items and comprehension issues, these insights offer valuable guidance for organizations seeking to optimize knowledge management practices, gain a competitive edge, and thrive in today’s dynamic global marketplace.

Abstract

Transportation issues are a common challenge faced by both developed and developing countries, including Indonesia. The transportation sector's primary goal is to establish a system that facilitates smooth, safe, fast, cost-effective, comfortable, and environmentally friendly movement of people, vehicles, and goods. In accordance with Law No. 22 of 2009 on traffic and road transportation, traffic accidents are defined as unexpected, non-intentional incidents occurring on the road involving vehicles, with or without other road users, resulting in human casualties and/or property damage. This research aims to assess the influence of driver behavior, intersection traffic characteristics, and traffic sign violations on traffic accidents at the Tlogosari Intersection in Semarang. The problem formulation, research objectives, and hypotheses in this study intend to analyze the positive and significant effects, both individually and collectively, of the independent variables on the dependent variable (traffic accidents). The study's subjects comprise motor vehicle users at the Tlogosari intersection in Semarang, with primary and secondary data serving as data sources. The study sample consists of 100 respondents who are Tlogosari Intersection users in Semarang, selected through non-probability sampling using the Incidental Sampling method. The data analysis technique employed is multiple linear regression analysis.

Abstract

The presence of the internet and social media has fundamentally changed various human activities, including politics. This study investigates the political engagement strategies of the Partai Solidaritas Indonesia (PSI) through the utilization of social media, with a specific focus on the live streaming program of regional candidate conventions on the YouTube platform. The research examines the impact of PSI’s social media initiatives, aiming to involve the public in the selection of regional leaders in Tangerang Selatan and Surabaya. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, the study analyzes public responses to PSI’s YouTube videos and comments, considering factors such as viewership and engagement. Despite the significant potential for online engagement due to Indonesia’s extensive internet user base, PSI’s failure to formulate a compelling narrative and provide mechanisms for active public participation resulted in limited political engagement. The study reveals that while the convention program aimed to draw media attention and project transparency, it fell short of fostering robust political engagement, emphasizing the need for more inclusive and innovative approaches to political communication in the digital age.

Abstract

The various carbon footprints present in the environment can inevitably have a significant impact on cultural heritage sites. In fact, preserving cultural heritage buildings, including those made of andesite stone, is of paramount importance. This research aims to provide a clear understanding of the impact of carbon footprints generated by the degradation of temple buildings constructed with andesite stone. It also examines several strategies for restoring these structures as part of the broader effort to safeguard cultural heritage sites. The study's results indicate that the carbon footprint has resulted in the release of various chemical gases that have adversely affected the andesite stone, leading to structural issues. To address this, restoration efforts can be implemented through the establishment of a drainage system to control temple humidity and the improvement of concrete slabs to strengthen the temple foundations, which have eroded due to the impact of carbon footprints.

Abstract

Maritime transportation is a crucial element of a nation's large-scale shipment system, facilitating the movement of goods both within and beyond its borders. Major port cities like Semarang, home to the Semarang Container Terminal (Terminal Peti Kemas Semarang or TPKS), have witnessed a surge in container traffic for imports and exports. In this study, quantitative and qualitative data were collected from 72 respondents through questionnaires, interviews, observations, literature review, and documentation. Based on empirical evidence and a research model involving multiple linear regressions, independent variables, including physical conditions, reliability, responsiveness, assurance, and empathy, individually and collectively have a significant and positive impact on customer satisfaction. Recommendations for TPKS management include enhancing service quality by providing precise services, improving professionalism, enhancing responsiveness, and ensuring clear communication to prevent unexpected costs. This research aids TPKS management in improving service quality and customer satisfaction, with a focus on key dimensions.

Abstract

The simultaneous legislative and presidential elections in Indonesia in 2019 offer a defining opportunity to gauge the maturity of political elites and the electorate in practicing democracy. Transparent and integrity-rich elections can solidify Indonesia's democratic consolidation, while their failure may jeopardize the democratization process. Money politics, a pressing issue in Indonesian elections, undermines electoral integrity, breeds corruption, and erodes democratic principles. This paper explores the multifaceted issue of money politics and presents a progressive approach to mitigate it through constitutional and legal reforms. The study identifies key problems, such as the undue influence of wealth, the weakening of political parties, and campaign funding opacity, proposing a series of progressive regulatory measures, including transitioning to a more competitive electoral system that empowers political parties, limiting campaign funding sources to curtail the influence of affluent donors, regulating electronic campaign money transactions for enhanced transparency, prohibiting corrupt candidates from participating in elections, advocating for more inclusive and transparent coalition-building among political parties, and suggesting the revocation of election winners by the Constitutional Court in cases of election fraud like money politics. These reforms aim to address the entrenched issue of money politics, fostering fairer, more democratic, and transparent electoral processes that empower political parties and engage the electorate in the quest for democratic ideals.

Abstract

This study explores the legend of Princess Mandalika and its significance as a symbol of gender struggle among the Sasak tribe on Lombok Island, West Nusa Tenggara. Data collection methods include observations, interviews, and document analysis. The study also incorporates data from social media platforms such as YouTube, Tik Tok, and Facebook, which feature the legend of Princess Mandalika in Lombok. The analysis employs hermeneutic techniques to interpret the legend's meaning in the context of gender struggle for Sasak women and utilizes semiotic theory to uncover symbols within the legend. This research is driven by the enduring oral traditions within the Sasak farming community, focusing on the folklore surrounding the legend of Princess Mandalika. The findings suggest that the gender struggle for equality, as portrayed in the Legend of Princess Mandalika, still encounters sociocultural barriers. The story highlights the sacrifices made by Mandalika, a king's daughter, as she chose to preserve her honor and kingdom by sacrificing herself in the sea. This act symbolizes the spirit of the Sasak women's gender struggle to maintain harmony and safety. In Sasak culture, the Merariq tradition serves as a conflict resolution method for addressing gender bias against Sasak women. The research underscores that Sasak women continue to fight for equal rights, and their struggle reflects the community's perspective that such rights must be earned.
