Abstract

The objectives of this research were to know the feasibility of effort of Nila merah (Oreochromis niloticus) culture in integrated manner with chicken (Long-Yam). This research was conducted in Bengkulu Utara Regency, Bengkulu Province. The data were analyzed by financial-economic aspect using Net Benefit-Cost Ratio (Net B/C Ratio), NPV (Net Present Value) and IRR (Internal Rate of Return). The result of financialeconomic aspect analysis were obtained Net B/C Ratio = 1.71, NPV = 5,103,169 and IRR = 33,00. Based on the result of this analysis showed that the effort unit of nila merah (Oreochromis niloticus) culture in a integrated manner with chicken is feasible and can developed in Bengkulu Utara Regency.

Abstract

The purpose of the study are (1) Identify the various characteristics of household food security in rural areas, (2) Identify the social capital that developed in rural areas, (3) Identify the various characteristics of sustainable food security in rural areas and (4) Analysis of social capital on development of sustainable food security in various community groups. The study design was cross sectional. The study was conducted in Kerinci regency, by the time the research for 8 (eight) months of the calendar. Research variables: (1) family food security (availability, accessibility, and utilization of food and nutrition, (2) social capital (local associations and public characters), and (3) Sustainable food security (ecology, economic status, and sosio-demographic), with the number of respondents 165 households. The data were analyzed using models of Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) by LISREL program. The results showed: (1) the level of household food security in Kerinci regency good views of availability, accessibility and household utilization of nutrients obtained quite enough and stable. Respondents in the study area has a fairly high level of stability of food consumption (energy and protein consumption), (2) social capital in the study area owned by households is high and good views of the local association level as well as from the aspect of interaction and community character, (3) sustainable food security is enough high, (4) social capital (local associations and public characters) either directly or indirectly have a positive highly significant to the development of food security and sustainable food security. That is, the higher and varied levels of social capital owned by the family, the more stable the level of food security so that the turn can improve the sustainable food security of the family.

Abstract

The aim for this research is to know the marketing development strategic of traditional meal in Centra traditional food Anggut Bengkulu City using Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) method dan SWOT analysis. The samples are Cita Rasa, Kueku Yovita and Arzel. To find the priority factor from each marketing mix used Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) method. This research showed that the priority factor from product mix is the hygiene product (0,1222). The priority factor from price mix is the value for money (0,2025). The priority factor from promotion mix is positioning the local product (0,1539). The priority factor from place mix is market location position (0,1841). The internal and external environment is used in SWOT analysis matriks. The Cita Rasa marketing development strategics are giving incentive price for consumers, market expansion, keep and maintain quality, taste and locallity product, and decorate the layout on the attractive display. The Kueku Yovita marketing development strategics are increase the promotion and advertising, giving incentive price for consumer, market expansion, and decorate the layout on the attractive display. The Arzel marketing development strategics are increase the promotion and advertising, giving incentive price for consumer, market expansion, increase the quality, hygiene and taste product, and decorate the layout on the attractive display.

Abstract

This research is aimed to measure integration rate of broiler price and the relation of broiler price among the regions in East Java Province. This research was conducted from 2000 up to 2009 by survey approach.  The secondary data of monthly broiler price at consumer level in Jombang, Malang, Jember and Surabaya regencies published by agriculture and animal husbandry departments as well as East Java statistical bureau were used. The descriptive and market integration analysis of co-integration Johansen and Granger causality test were used.  The research showed that broiler markets in East Java were integrated and efficient. The analysis of Granger causality in the four regencies in East Java showed that the two-way causality of broiler price was pointed in Jombang-Malang, Jombang-Surabaya, Surabaya-Jember regencies respectively. Meanwhile the one-way causality was pointed in Jombang-Jember, Malang-Jember, Surabaya-Jember, and Surabaya-Malang.

Abstract

The aim of this research was to analyze the factors which influence the paddy production of legowo cropping system on Dusun Besar Subdistrict Gading Cempaka District Bengkulu City. The respondents were 56 farmers from 65 farmers of three types of legowo cropping system 4:1, 6:1 dan 8:1 and they were taken with Slovin Formula. The cross section data used in this research include paddy production, land size, seed, urea, labour, and the type of legowo system as dummy variables. To determine influencing factors of production, this research applied Cobb Douglass model. The research results showed that seed used is significat factor but has a negative impact on production, while urea and legowo type of 4:1 have positive and significant effect on production.

Abstract

This study is aimed at examining enterprises model and analysing risk level of Palm Sugar in Rejang Lebong Regency. Risk Analysis involve nira harvested, nira processed, palm sugar production, and palm sugar prices received by producers. Twostages cluster sampling method is used to determine research areas, i.e, subdistrict of Sindang Kelingi and Selupu Rejang based on the numbers of firms. Using similar critirea, two villages are selected, i.e, Air Meles Atas and Sindang Jati. From those villages, then, 86 palm sugar producers are selected using Simple Random Sampling. Descriptive analysis is applied to describe entreprises model of palm sugar industries while risks is analysed using its varians, standard deviation, and minimum level of production as proposed by Maryam and Suprapti (2008). The research shows that all palm sugar industries in this regency can be categories as home industries with average production scale of 11.58 kg per process in rainy season and 11. 54 kg in dry season. Palm sugar producers use their own capital to produce palm sugar and borrowed to palm sugar village merchants when they need. From risk analysis, the study finds that palm sugar producers will face higher risk in term of nira harvested and processed, and production in dry season, except in term of price received which is higher in rainy season. Over all, palm sugar producers will not face risk significantly both in dry and rainy season.

Abstract

This research is aimed at assessing the Agriculture Sector Loan Arrears in BRI unit Pasar Rengas District of Batanghari and to analyze their determinant factors. Respondents were purposively selected as many as 69 people that is 50% of 137 populations who applied for credit in the period from July to December 2009 to BRI unit Pasar Rengas District of Batanghari. Data were analysed using descriptive method while chi-square formula and the contingency coefficient formula are used to determine relationship between independent and dependent variables. The results of this study indicate that the level of customer credit arrears level at PT. BRI unit Pasar Rengas categorised as the high category, and the factors associated with the level of loan arrears are motivation, the number of family, loan experience, and revenue. Formal education and collaterals correlated significantly with the level of customer credit arrears.

Abstract

The objectives of this research were to find out the level farmer’s motivation in the refunding their loan at Baitul Maal Watamil (BMT) and to determine factors are associated with the level of motivation. This research was held on 15 November 2011 to 15 Desember 2011 in Srikaton Village in Central Bengkulu Regency. The respondents of this research were taken by using census technique. The results of this research indicate that the level of motivations to repay the loans at Baitul Maal Watamil (BMT) could be categorized in medium level or quite good. Then the factors related to the level of farmers motivations in refunding the credit, there were three factors namely. First the level of farming experience. Second the value of collateral and the last level of farmers perceptions of BMT cooperative and the credit program of cooperative it self.

Abstract

Maintaining and promoting the development of agricultural sector must not be separated from the role of plantation sub-sector development. Plantation sub-sector which is part of the national development and one of the most important commodity in Indonesia’s economy is palm oil. This research was executed at the palm oil harvesting workers in PT. Bio Nusantara Teknologi, Bengkulu regency on April – May 2010. The purposes of this research were: (1) to count the productivity of the palm oil harvesting workers and (2) to analyze the factors that influence the productivity of the palm oil harvesting workers in PT. Bio Nusantara Teknologi Bengkulu. The amount of 121 daily payment workers was taken from 10 afdelling by stratified random sampling. The research showed that the productivity of the palm oil harvesting workers was 130,314 kg/day. While, factors that affected the productivity of the palm oil harvesting workers were workers’ age and the amount of burden dependency family.

Abstract

The research was conducted in Desa Bandung Baru, Subdistrict Kabawetan Kepahiang Regency Bengkulu Province. The purpose of this study were : 1) To Analyze the financial feasibility of arabica coffee farm in village of Bandung Baru subdistrict Kabawetan Kepahiang regency Bengkulu Province from the financial aspect, 2) To Calculate the payback period and the level of sensitivity against the declaine in Arabica coffee farm production, price reductions, increased investment costs, operating costs and maintenance. Determination of respondent carried out using Stratified Random Sampling, data consist of primary data and secondary data. The number of respondent in this study were 40 samples. The results of this study indicate that the views of financial aspects of Arabica coffee farm worth the effort, this is apparent from the Net B/C is 2,17 (>1), Gross B/C value is 1,28 (>1), PV”/K value is 2,11 (>1), NPV of Rp. 18.847.733 and IRR value is 26,60 %. Sensitivity analysis shows that if there was increase in production 29%, price of production decreased 22% and decrease production 22%.
