Abstract

Learning Biology on environmental change material that needs updating is in line with curriculum demands by making compost as a learning resource that can solve the problem of organic waste that is around us. The purpose of this study was to develop a module for environmental change by making compost as a learning resource for class X high school students. The research subjects at SMA Santa Veronika Pekanbaru obtained information that the teaching materials used were printed books, modules without pictures. This research was conducted using the Research And Development or (R & D) method using ADDIE. In this study, it was limited to stage 3. The instrument used was in the form of assessment criteria to determine the feasibility of the environmental change module by making compost, knowing material experts, learning experts and student responses using a Likert scale by administering an assessment questionnaire. Based on the results of the material expert validation, an average yield of 89.48% was obtained. Learning Media Experts obtained an average yield of 82.00%, thus the developed module was declared valid for use. After conducting the validity of the module to the expert, then the module is tested on student responses. It was obtained that the students' responses with a percentage of 86.36% were stated in the good and proper predicate, thus the modules that were developed were good and suitable for use in the learning process.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the contextualization of Beck's thoughts about the distribution of risk and social class in the case of the haze that hit the people of Riau. This study uses qualitative research methods with Ulrich Beck's theory of risk distribution as a tool to analyze research findings. This study shows that the effects of industrialization of palm oil and the haze are the risk from the haze in Riau is not only experienced by a group of people, but the risk is consumed by everyone. The existence of a class has no effect in terms of the spread of this risk consumption, it's just that there is a difference in consuming it. This can be seen from the ability of those from the upper middle social class to be better able to minimize risk exposure than those in the lower middle social class.

Abstract

Abstract The process of learning English at the university involves four language skills, namely listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills. These four skills are related to students' vocabulary mastery. In the process of learning English there are several supporting and inhibiting factors faced by students. However, from all these factors it was found that mastery of many vocabularies is the most important thing in understanding the material presented during the English learning process. Keywords: language skills, supporting and inhibiting factors Abstrak Proses pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris di tingkat universitas melibatkan empat keterampilan berbahasa yaitu keterampilan mendengarkan (listening), berbicara (speaking), membaca (reading), dan menulis (writing). Keempat keterampilan tersebut berkaitan dengan kemampuan penguasaan kosakata (vocabulary) yang dimiliki oleh mahasiswa. Dalam proses pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris terdapat beberapa faktor pendukung dan penghambat yang dihadapi oleh mahasiswa. Namun, dari semua faktor tersebut ternyata didapatkan hasil bahwa penguasaan kosakata (vocabulary) yang banyak merupakan hal yang paling utama dan penting dalam memahami materi yang disampaikan selama proses pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris berlangsung. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan diksi yang membentuk makna figuratif dalam kumpulan cerita “Anak Durhaka” oleh Hang Kafrawi. Analisis dalam kajian ini bersifat deskriptip kualitatif dengan teknik dokumentasi untuk mendapatkan data. Fokus pada kajian ini adalah makna yang terbentuk oleh bentuk bahasa kiasan/ figuratif. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat tiga jenis figuratif, yakni metafora, simili dan personifikasi. Ditemukan 36 data bentuk majas; 4 metafora, 6 simili dan 26 personifikasi. Bentuk figuratif personifikasi adalah yang paling dominan, lebih dari 72% dan merupakan ciri-ciri stilistika penulis/ pengarang. Di sisi lain, bentuk metafora dan simili seolah menjadi pendamping atau variasi yang digunakan penulis. Bentuk-bentuk kiasan tersebut membuat cerita hidup dan menarik. Dengan demikian penggunaan bahasa figuratif disajikan oleh penulis sebagai intensitas makna dan juga membuat suatu warna dalam karya itu sendiri.
