Abstract

Informal caregivers are usually uncertain about the recovery and life expectancy improvement of schizophrenic patients.  This study aimed to determine Quran recitation listening therapy's effectiveness in increasing optimism in schizophrenia informal caregivers. Optimism was measured using the Life Orientation Test-Revision (LOT-R) developed by Scheier, Carver, and Bridges. Quran recitation listening therapy was conducted using the tartil method. The Qori’ recited surah Ar-Rahman with and without interpretation for experimental groups 1 and 2 comprising informal caregivers. Furthermore, hypotheses were tested quantitatively with the Wilcoxon analysis technique to determine the effect of the Quran recitation listening therapy on optimism. The results showed that Quran recitation listening therapy with and without interpretation effectively increased informal caregivers' optimism. The finding justified the theory that Islamic religious intervention in the Quran recitation listening therapy with and without interpretation effectively increases optimism

Abstract

Children with moderate intellectual disabilities experiencing obstacles in academics, reading, and arithmetic, but can be educated to take care of themselves. One of the important adaptive behaviors for individuals to master is dressing skills and these skills can be improved by modifying behavior. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the application of the chaining technique in improving dressing skills in children with moderate mental retardation. The sampling technique in this study used purposive sampling with the criteria of children aged 6-11 years, experiencing problems in intellectual function in the IQ range of 35-55 (Binet's scale), inhibited in adaptive function, and unable to dress independently. Data collection techniques in this study used observation and interviews. The results indicate that there is a change in the level of dress skills in children with intellectual disabilities in the moderate category before and after applying the chaining technique.

Abstract

ABSTRACT : The purpose of the study was to investigate the effectiveness of gratitude training on reducing depression levels among patients with chronic kidney failure undergoing hemodialysis therapy. The study used a single-subject experimental design with the A-B-A (Baseline A1-Treatment-BaselineA2) format to examine changes in individuals receiving the treatment. Two patients with chronic kidney failure who had undergone hemodialysis therapy for ≤2 years were selected as the participants. The level of depression was measured using Depression Anxiety Stress Scale (DASS)-42 and qualitatively measured through visual inspection. The hypothesis test results supported the effectiveness of gratitude training in reducing the depression level in patients with chronic kidney failure undergoing hemodialysis therapy.

Abstract

ABSTRACT: College students are particularly susceptible to depression due to the various pressures. Therefore, bibliotherapy is one of the interventions that can be utilized to alleviate this situation. This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of bibliotherapy in reducing the tendency of depression among students. The participants in this pre-experimental study with a one-group pretest-posttest design consisted of college students who experienced depression and had an interest in reading (N=7). The results of the Wilcoxon test showed a decrease in depression symptoms after students received bibliotherapy intervention. This study was expected to serve as a valuable self-help reference for students struggling with depression.

Abstract

ABSTRACT: Student-athletes are faced with two possible carrier choices either to remain athletes in the long term or to choose an alternative path. When they are not engaged in their choice, this may lead to indecision in the future. Furthermore, a need analysis conducted at Vocational High School X showed that student-athletes are not involved in their carrier, hence, they need intervention as external support. Therefore, this study aimed to examine the effectiveness of STAR career intervention in increasing student-athletes career engagement, enabling appropriate choices. This was a quasi-experiment with a one-group-pretest-posttest design, and the subjects were 9 student-athletes. The results analyzed using the Wilcoxon test showed that STAR career intervention significantly increased understanding of the material (p-value=0.012), career engagement (p-value=0.002), and reaction evaluation (p-value=0.018). The implications of this study can be applied by school guidance counselors.

Abstract

ABSTRACT: Nurse is one of the professions engaged in the health sector and has a high intensity to deal directly with patients. The many responsibilities, the high complexity of the work and the demands that must be carried out by nurses make the nursing profession vulnerable to stress and burnout at work. This study aims to determine the effect of mindfulness-based interventions on reducing burnout in nurses at "X" Hospital, Bandung City. This study used the Maslach Burnout Inventory-Human Services Survey (MBI-HSS) and the Five Facet Mindfulness Questionnaire (FFMQ) as a manipulation check. This study uses an experimental method to look for the effect of intervention mindfulness-based stress reduction (MBSR) as the independent variable to reduced burnout as the dependent variable. The results showed that there was a significant effect of mindfulness-based interventions through the mindfulness-based stress reduction (MBSR) method on reducing burnout in burnout nurses at "X" Hospital, Bandung City.

Abstract

ABSTRACT: The pressure from lectures experienced by students can have detrimental effects on their well-being and overall life satisfaction. Therefore, this study aimed to assess the effectiveness of three good things interventions in enhancing the subjective well-being of students. A total of 36 students from Makassar State University participated in this randomized experiment, using an alternative treatment design with a pretest. The Positive and Negative Affect Schedule (PANAS) and Satisfaction With Life Scale (SWLS) were used as measurement tools, and the data were analyzed through an independent sample t-test and analysis of covariance (ANCOVA). The result showed a significant difference in subjective well-being changes between participants who received the three good things intervention and those with a placebo memory, at a t-test significance value of 0.007 and ANCOVA significance of 0.008. Hence, it can be concluded that the three good things interventions positively impact the subjective well-being of students at Makassar State University. This study provided valuable insights on the positive impact of three good things interventions in improving subjective well-being.

This study aims to examine the effectiveness of training programs in increasing hope and social skills in students. This study used an experiment with a pretestposttest control group design. Participants were 96 students who were divided into control and experimental groups, each consisting of 47 and 49 participants. The data were analyzed using the paired sample T-test which showed that there was a significant difference in the scores of social skills and hope between the pretest and posttest in the experimental group. The results of the analysis show that there is an increase in hope and social skills of the students who took part in the training program or the experimental group.
