Abstract

In the rapid development many organisation rely on context data to support as well as to assist its decision making process. Consequently, Business Intelligence (BI), Dashboard, and Data Visualization emerged as primary tools in early 1990s as a way to help practitioners, data analyst, and data scientist to present context data into an actionable information for decision making process. However, despite its robust and powerful tools, recent study done by Kaggle’s survey in 2017 resulted that in the last five years, many companies were not able to create effective data-driven dashboard due to complex dataset, poor dashboard design, and insufficient storytelling. Hence, understanding of who is going to use dashboard, choosing which data and metrics to visualize in the right context, knowing how to convey information, driving engagement, and persuading audiences are essential in current business practices. This study is aimed to help practitioners to understand the impact of effective dashboard can have on decision making process, to design leveraging dashboard, and to present the dashboard in storytelling. A literature study is performed to gather all relevant information resulted in guidelines for dashboard creator. Case study in financial technology company is applied to experiment and to test the guidelines for assisting dashboard creator to present data-driven insight to the stakeholder.

Abstract

Reducing distance in delivery service from distribution center to subsidiaries can be reached through well-managed routing which known as VRP - Vehicle Routing Problem. This study was conducted in a food industry PT. XYZ. Two methods, Cluster First Route Second algorithm and linier programming were used to obtain the minimum distance between distribution center to outlets in Jabodetabek area. The cluster first route second method was improved using linier programming – solver. The improved method shows 774.18 kilometer is better than Cluster Firs Route Second, 832.19 kolometer which is 6.97% shortened.

Abstract

This study aimed to develop an application which can be used to measure the response time needed by subjects to find a set of predetermined “words” in order to determine the level of readability of smartphone screen. The development steps began with concept development, interface design and software testing and verification. The results of this study is a software which can be used for typography experiment in which the subject is asked to find a predetermined word. The software could be used for the experiment of 4 typography factors i.e font style (FS), font size (FZ), contrast (CT), and screen rotation (SR). This software could be used for the 5x3x2x2 factorial experiment with 60 combinations. The response time of subject for each treatment combination has been computed and saved in the smartphone. Finally, the response time could be used to determine the best combination of factor and level factor for readability of smartphone screen.

Abstract

The Citarum River is the longest river in West Java. The river participates in the development of the Indonesian economy by 20% of GDP (Gross Domestic Product). In 2018, the citarum river ecosystem structuring survey team found 31 factories in the Bandung Regency region that dumped the waste produced directly into the Citarum River, one of which was the textile industry. In the production process the textile industry uses textile dyes containing azo dyes. The compound has the potential to produce aminobenzen or aniline which causes pollution. The lack of a communal Waste Water Treatment Plant (IPAL) and improper location is a factor that causes the industry to dispose of production waste water directly into the Citarum River. This study aims to support government activities in improving the Citarum River by designing a Decision Support System (DSS) using a website-based Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) method to determine the right location to build a communal WWTP. .

Abstract

PT. PAI is a footware company that produces sports shoes. The production process at PT. PAI, has a waste of 15.891%. To overcome the problems that occur, this study was conducted with the aim of identifying and proposing waste elimination. The method used is a lean manufacturing approach. One of the tools used is Value Stream Mapping (VSM) and Yamazumi Chart. The first stage to solve the problem is the identification of waste using the Waste Relationship Matrix (WRM), Waste Assessment Questionnaire (WAQ) and VALSAT. The second stage is carried out by designing the current Value Stream Mapping (VSM), designing the proposed improvements using the Yamazumi Chart to balance the production line and designing the Future VSM based on the results of the proposals that have been given. The result of identification using these tools is known that the biggest waste is waste in the process with a percentage of 15.891% followed by overproduction of 15.774%. Based on the calculation using VSM and Yamazumi Chart, elimination of waste can be done as much as 5.48%, reducing the number of workers by 32 people and reducing the number of work stations by 16 work stations

Abstract

PT TPS Surabaya is a company engaged in terminal handling, especially containers. In carrying out operational activities to transport containers from the dock to the company's container yard, it uses eighty head truck fleets. Operational activities for transporting containers are carried out 24 hours a day so that maintenance is needed. Therefore, the operational head trucks do not experience sudden damage and disrupt operations. The malfunction of the device can occur due to damage to the components in the device. The design of the component replacement and the inspection intervals on the components is needed to avoid sudden component damage. Calculation of interval replacement and component checking is done by calculating the damage distribution followed by searching for index of fit and goodness of fit using Minitab software. The result showed that the inspection time interval of 1091 hours for the air system and 398.45 hours for the transmission system components. Besides, the replacement time interval for the component of the air system is 62 hours and the transmission system is 124 hours after inspection.

Abstract

The government livestock carrier cruise program is a dedicated program to improve the supply chain management of livestock and the ultimate goal is selfsufficiency of beef in 2026. This carrier has one fleet with the capacity of 500 cows and sails through 8 ports regularly. The island of Nusa Tenggara are the local producers for the livestock carrier cruise which is an area of provincial surplus of beef. For the future the government plans to add more ships to the armada from the current one fleet to six fleets of livestock carrier cruises. The current livestock carrier cruise program has not been optimal in shipping cows to the consumer area. This is caused by the limitation of number of fleet and theexisting route that the livestock carrier has to sail through has created some obstacle to maximizing the number of cows to be distributed. This research aims to optimise this carrier cruising route with criteria including having high supplied beef percentage rate and having the most minimum cost. This optimisation problem solved by genetics algorithm methid and develop twodifferent scenarios that suggest alternatives for an optimal route. To make things easier, a computerized program with genetics algorithm method for a livestock carrier cruise optimization network are designed. The outcome of this research is a proposed optimised route on scenario 1 with total cost of Rp 443,306,533.26, and total load of 1,374 cows. As for the future to add five ships, the conditions are met by using the results of the second scenario with total cost of Rp 1,321,505,850.62, total load of 3416 cows and the route network for six ships

Abstract

In the current competitive environment, every company is required to have a strong supply chain network as part of the company's strategy to survive in the company environment. However, the establishment of a strong supply chain network is not a guarantee of risk free. Risk is the impact of an event, an event occurs due to uncertainty that cannot be predicted by stakeholders. In this study aims to identify and map risk events and causes of risk, and provide proposed actions to minimize risk mitigation strategies with the House of Risk approach. The House of Risk approach is part of risk management in the supply chain where this method is able to identify and map risks and events of risk, and provide proposed mitigation strategies. The results of this study obtained 10 risk events and 17 risk causes with the proposed mitigation actions 7 actions.
