Journal of Health Innovation and Community Services (JHICS) is a publication media for various academic activities in the field of public health that carry out intervention activities to the community or institutions in the community related to the field of public health. Public health is a discipline consisting of promotive, preventive, rehabilitation and advocacy activities to improve the welfare of the community at large. Interventions that can be in the form of community participation and collaboration towards efforts to improve community health and welfare. Interventions are carried out through various innovative approaches with the embodiment of public health academic and technological approaches that can be adopted by the people involved. It is hoped that these interventions will continue to work to achieve independence in improving the health and welfare of the community.

Abstract

Background: Implementing a healthy lifestyle is also very important, especially during a pandemic like this, maintaining health and body immunity is the main and most important thing to avoid the covid-19 virus, including school children. From an early age, children must be introduced to a sense of responsibility and a sense of caring for the environment and themselves, especially during a pandemic emergency where children are an age group that is vulnerable to infection. Purpose: from this community service is to improve the health status of elementary school residents, especially students. Method of community service uses education about covid-19, prevention of transmission of covid 19 and healthy living during a pandemic and how to wash hands properly as an effort to prevent transmission of Covid-19. Results: The community service activities were attended by 121 students, mostly 67% of the students were male. This community service activity increases the knowledge of students/partners related to the transmission and prevention of the covid 19 virus and improves a clean and healthy lifestyle for elementary school students. Conclusion: This community service activity is carried out by providing education related to the transmission and prevention of covid 19 which has a positive impact on partners, there is an increase in knowledge about covid 19 and an increase in correct hand washing skills as an effort to prevent the transmission of covid 19.

Abstract

Background: Daily emergency health services are a human right of everyone and an obligation that everyone should have. The government and the entire community are responsible for maintaining and improving the quality of health services. In everyday circumstances, the handling of emergency patients will involve pre-hospital services, services in hospitals and services between hospitals, so an integrated daily emergency management system is needed. Based on the results of the study at the Imam As-Syafi'I Genteng Islamic Boarding School, from interviews with disaster management volunteers, data was obtained that the volunteers at the Imam As-Syafi'I Genteng Islamic Boarding School were classified as volunteers who lacked knowledge deficits related to first aid in accidents because they had never received first aid education and training for emergency patients. Based on data obtained from one of the administrators and participants at the Imam As-Syafi'I Genteng Islamic Boarding School, they have never been given counseling related to material on basic life support (BHD), shelter and how to transport emergency patients as a provision for first aid in an accident. The purpose: of this community service is for students to know and understand about basic life support. Method: this community service uses BHD material counseling and then practice using mannequins. Result: This program activity has increased the knowledge of female students about basic life support. Conclusion: Community service carried out through the presentation of material and direct practice to mannequins not only provides new insights to students but can also provide their own experiences for students in carrying out basic life support.

Abstract

Background: Maternal mortality rate in the region of East Java has increased in 2020 namely 98,39/100.000 KH. Jember has the highest of maternal mortality rate in the East Java, which is 173,53/100.000 KH. Maternal mortality can occur either during pregnancy, childbirth or the puerperium period. Gumukmas is one of district in Jember which has a percentage of birth assisted by health workers as much as 98,2%, which means that there are still 1,8% of mother who gave birth not assisted by health provider. Kader as part of the community that close to pregnan women are expected to be able yo take a role in the implementation of the Childbirth Planning and Camplications Prevention Program (P4K). The aim of this study is to improve the kader’s ability to provide information to pregnant women about preparation for childbirth in Gumukmas. Method: the method that used is counseling by evaluating the increase of kader’s knowledge through pre and posttest questionnaire.Result: the result was found that 88% of kader have increase of knowledge in childbirtg preparation program and prevention of complication, 12 % have the same knowledge, and there were no participants with decrease of knowledge. This shows that the counseling carried out is quite efficient. Suggestion This result is expected to increase the ability of kader in providing education to pregnant women and families in preparing safety deliveries

Abstract

Background: Cardiac arrest is an emergency condition that can threaten human life, therefore cardiac arrest must get first aid as soon as possible to avoid death. First aid that can be done by giving Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR). Purpose The purpose of this service is to empower MA ZAHA 04 Pakuniran Students as First Responders in Providing Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) in Cardiac Arrest Cases and the BLS rapid reaction team. Method: The method used in this service consists of a preparation stage by coordinating with partners and a service permit, followed by the implementation stage, namely by providing training to students on Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and the final stage, namely closing, by evaluating participants training on knowledge and skills in providing basic life support. Result: This service activity went according to expectations, as well as the participants who were very enthusiastic and attended the training wisely. Conclution: The community service carried out increases students' knowledge and skills by being able to demonstrate CPR (hand only CPR) and being able to identify signs of cardiac arrest.

Abstract

Abstrak Luka bakar menjadi penyebab utama kondisi krisis dan luka trauma besar yang beresiko menyebabkan berbagai masalah, hingga mengakibatkan terjadinya kondisi kematian jaringan. Usia, jenis kelamin, penyebab luka bakar, karakteristik luka bakar, kedalaman luka bakar dan derajat luka bakar dapat dijadikan sebagai indikator angka morbiditas dan mortalitas pada kasus luka bakar. Tujuan kegiatan ini adalah mengenalkan tindakan kegawatdaruratan dasar (KOPDAR) dalam penatalaksanaan luka bakar pada 62 siswa SMPN 12 Jember pada 2 September 2022. Tujuan khususnya adalah peserta memahami konsep kegawatdaruratan dasar di tingkat Sekolah, mempu mengenal jenis-jenis luka bakar, dan mampu mengambil keputusan tindakan dasar dalam memberikan pertolongan pada kasus luka bakar. Rincian kegiatan antara lain: 1) Mengedukasi peserta tentang konsep kegawatdaruratan dasar dalam penatalaksanaan luka bakar, 2) Demonstrasi tindakan pertongan pertama pada kasus luka bakar, dan 3) Menggali kemampuan siswa terkait tindakan pertongan pertama pada kasus luka bakar. Program pengenalan ini diawali dengan kegiatan pemberian kuesioner. Kegiatan awal sebagai bentuk kegiatan permulaan didapatkan hasil sebanyak 42 siswa (67,7%) yang mampu menjawab pertanyaan dengan kategori baik. Setelah kegiatan Program pengenalan Kegawatdaruratan Dasar (KOPDAR) dilakukan didapatkan hasil sebanyak 62 siswa (100%) mampu menjawab pertanyaan dengan baik. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut dapat ditarik kesimpulan bahwa Siswa SMPN 12 Jember memiliki kesediaan dalam menerima program kelompok pengenalan kegawatdaruratan dasar (KOPDAR) terkait luka bakar (Combustio) dari ketua pelaksana yang berasal dari Universitas dr. Soebandi. Kata kunci: First Aid, Luka Bakar, Combustio, Kegawatdaruratan.   Abstract Burns are the main cause of crisis conditions and major traumatic injuries that have the risk of causing various problems, resulting in tissue death. Age, gender, cause of burns, characteristics of burns, depth of burns and degree of burns can be used as indicators of morbidity and mortality in cases of burns. The purpose of this activity is to introduce basic emergency measures in the management of burns to 62 students of SMPN 12 Jember on September 2 2022. The specific goal is for participants to understand the concept of basic emergencies at the school level, be able to recognize the types of burns, and be able to make decisions Basic action in providing assistance in cases of burns. The details of the activities include: 1) Educating participants about basic emergency concepts in the management of burns, 2) Demonstration of first aid measures in cases of burns, and 3) Exploring students' abilities regarding first aid. This introduction program begins with the activity of giving a questionnaire. The initial activity as a form of initial activity resulted in 42 students (67.7%) being able to answer questions in good categories. After the activities of the Basic Emergency Introduction Program were carried out, the results showed that 62 students (100%) were able to answer questions properly. Based on these results it can be concluded that SMPN 12 Jember students are willing to accept the basic emergency introduction group program related to burns Keywords: First Aid, Burns, Combustio, Emergencies.

Abstract

Abstrak Latar Belakang : Kejadian cedera merupakan suatu keadaan gawatdarurat yang bisa meningkatkan angka morbiditas bahkan sampai mortalitas. Kejadian cedera di lingkungan sekolah juga tergolong tinggi, ditambah dengan lingkungan sekolah yang kurang aman dan rendahnya pemahaman tentang konsep bahaya dan pertolongan pertama. Kejadian yang paling sering terjadi adalah luka, sehingga konsep pertolongan pertama harus baik dan benar. Tujuan dari kegiatan ini adalah untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan siswa dalam melakukan pertolongan pertama pada korban yang terluka di sekolah. Metode : kegiatan ini dilakukan dengan beberapa tahap yaitu diskusi eksplorasi cedera yang sering terjadi di Sekolah, analisis masalah yang terjadi berdasarkan prioritas masalah, menggali permasalahan dalam melakukan upaya preventifI cedera dan evaluasi hasil eksplorasi. Kegiatan ini dilakukan di SMP Negeri 12 Jember dengan masing-masing sesi selama 120 menit. Hasil : kegiatan ini berlangsung dengan lancer sesuai harapan dan antusiasme peserta juga baik. Terjadi peningkatan pengetahuan tentang pertolongan pertama untuk menolong korban terluka dan diikuti dengan kepercayaan diri peserta dalam menolong korban terluka. Kesimpulan : kegiatan ini berdampak positif untuk kegiatan siswa dan bisa dilaksanakan program selanjutnya tertutama untuk pertolongan pertama domain-domain berikutnya. Kata kunci: pertolongan pertama, luka, SMP Abstract Background: Injury is an emergency situation that can increase morbidity and even mortality. The incidence of injuries in the school environment is also relatively high, coupled with an unsafe school environment and low understanding of the concept of danger and first aid. The most common incident is a wound, so the concept of first aid must be good and right. The purpose of this activity is to increase students' knowledge in performing first aid to injured victims at school. Method: this activity is carried out in several stages, namely discussing the exploration of injuries that often occur in schools, analyzing problems that occur based on problem priorities, exploring problems in carrying out injury prevention efforts and evaluating the results of exploration. This activity was carried out at SMP Negeri 12 Jember with each session lasting 120 minutes. Result: this activity took place smoothly according to the expectations and enthusiasm of the participants was also good. There was an increase in knowledge about first aid to help injured victims and was followed by participants' confidence in helping injured victims. Conclusion: this activity has a positive impact on student activities and can be carried out in subsequent programs, especially for first aid in the following domains. Abstract

SDN 01 Ketindan already has a UKS but it has been abandoned due to the pandemic. The UKS temporarily functions as a storage area only. In addition, SDN 01 Ketindan has several dirty smelling bathrooms with several broken doors so students cannot use them. The purpose of this community service activity is to increase the knowledge and skills of partners (SDN 01 Ketindan students) regarding the function of the UKS for health services and overcoming minor injuries experienced by students or teachers. take a clean bath and cultivate the habit of keeping the bathroom clean to stay healthy. This community service was carried out through counseling methods about bathroom cleanliness and the importance of UKS. Apart from that, infrastructure repairs were carried out in this case the bathrooms by replacing all the doors, cleaning the floors, repairing leaking bathtubs, and repainting the walls. This community service has been carried out by educating school residents about UKS knowledge and bathroom cleanliness as well as products in the form of repairs to all bathrooms as a means of supporting teaching and learning activities. This activity is still ongoing because UKS infrastructure and training for UKS officers have not been carried out due to funds still being allocated for bathroom repairs.

Abstract

Latar Belakang: Pancaroba merupakan musim peralihan antara musim hujan ke musim kemarau atau kebalikanya. Disaat peralihan dua musim tersebut terjadi perbedaan tekanan udara sehingga berpengaruh terhadap daya imunitas tubuh dan dapat mengakibatkan beberapa penyakit. Salah satu cara untuk menjaga imunitas tubuh agar imunitas tetap stabil adalah dengan menggunakan herbal medicine.  Imunomodulator dari herbal merupakan bahan alamiah yang berasal dari tumbuhan yang dapat digunakan untuk menaikkan atau mengembalikan keseimbangan sistem imun tubuh  dengan cara memperbaiki fungsi sistem imun dengan mekanisme perangsangan pada sistem imun. Pada dasarnya masyarakat telah mengetahui beberapa tanaman dapat digunakan sebagai obat, namun belum banyak yang mengetahui tanaman tersebut dapat digunakan sebagai imunomodulator. Tujuan : Pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini dilakukan untuk memberikan edukasi tanaman obat-obatan sebagai imunomodulator pada masyarakat Desa Tanjung Kulon. Metode : Penyuluhan dilakukan dengan metode penyampaian materi dan diskusi secara langsung. Kesimpulan :  Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat mengenai herbal medicine yang dilakukan di Desa Tanjung Kulon berjalan lancar danmasyarakat dapat memahami dan tertarik dengan tanaman obat sebagai pengingkat imunitas tubuh atau imunomodulator.

Abstract

Background: Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) is a disease caused by dengue virus infection. Dengue fever is transmitted by the Aedes aegypti and Aedes albopictus mosquitoes. Based on data in Madiun Regency in 2019 there were 305 sufferers and 4 people died from DHF. The purpose of carrying out community service activities (PKM) and Community Service Lectures (KKN) in Mojorayung Village, Wungu District, Madiun Regency is to provide awareness of healthy living and play an active role in preventing DHF. The method of this PKM is using an approach to the community through socialization and education on prevention of DHF. The community is also invited to play an active role in maintaining cleanliness so that they are not susceptible to dengue. The result of this PKM, the people of Mojorayung Village have begun to experience an increase in living a clean and healthy life. The community also began to actively carry out community service in environmental cleaning activities. Discussion of the PKM activities carried out by students together with STIE Pemuda lecturers, besides being able to help with problems that occur in Mojorayung Village regarding prevention of DHF, can also increase public awareness of the importance of living a clean and healthy life.

Abstract

Anemia is a condition that can cause disturbances in young women. Young women can experience anemia due to menstruation. To prevent anemia in young women is consumption of Blood Supplement Tablets. The Government's recommended Blood Supplement tablets contain 60 mg of iron and 0.4 mg of folic acid. Consumption of Iron Blood Tablets regularly once a week for 52 weeks. Purpose To provide knowledge and provision and assistance in taking Blood Supplement Tablets. Method Community service begins with conducting a preliminary survey to find out the problem. Video screenings, outreach, giving and assisting in drinking blood supplement tablets were also carried out. Results All students participated enthusiastically in the activity until the end. There were several questions asked to the speaker during the discussion. Blood Supplement Tablets can be taken by all female students. Conclusion Community service activities can provide knowledge and assistance in taking Blood Supplement Tablets to all female students.
