Abstract

This study aims to determine the application of the Ummi method program in learning to read the Qur'an by SDIT Widya Cendekia students and the results obtained from the Ummi method. In carrying out this study the authors used qualitative research this study uses data collection techniques, namely observation, interviews, and documentation. After the data is obtained, the data is processed with several techniques, namely editing and data interpretation. Furthermore, all data were analyzed using qualitative descriptive techniques. The results of this study indicate that the application of the Ummi method program has good results so that it has a good effect on students at Sdit Widya Cendekia.

Abstract

One of the fields directly related to the Science of Communication is Education. Proficiency in communication within schools by teachers to students will lead to an improvement in learning motivation and the quality of education in schools. The research objective is to determine the relationship between teacher-student communication during the teaching and learning process at SDN. Karangpring 02, Sukorambi District, Jember Regency. The descriptive method used in this qualitative research includes interviews, observations, and documentation of SDN as data sources. Based on the data obtained, communication follows the development of students, and the students' receptivity in lower grades. Teachers communicate while teaching in a cheerful manner, while in higher grades, the approach becomes more serious, and there is no playfulness as seen in lower grades. The communication pattern between teachers and students is effective; teachers communicate formally and also engage in specific communication to facilitate feedback from students. This discussion promotes active student learning in the classroom. Adequate facilities and infrastructure are influential factors supporting the teaching and learning process at SDN. Karangping 02, Sukorambi District, Jember. Direct communication between parents and children at home has an impact on a child's learning, social interaction, and etiquette outside the home environment.

Abstract

In response to the imperative need for enhancing primary school education, this study delves into the transformative impact of the TEMA PGSD program on the professional development of elementary school teachers. The article's objective is to analyze how the program contributes to elevating teaching quality and student achievement. Through a mixed-methods approach, combining participant surveys and in-depth classroom observations, this research investigates the practical implications of TEMA PGSD. The findings underscore a notable positive shift in pedagogical practices among participating teachers, leading to observable improvements in student performance across various subjects. With a concise yet comprehensive overview of the program's methodology, which prioritizes interactive learning and practical application, this study provides valuable insights for educators, policymakers, and researchers. The background highlights the pressing need for effective teacher training, setting the stage for the relevance of the TEMA PGSD initiative. The article concludes by emphasizing the program's potential as a transformative model for primary school teacher education. This research not only addresses a critical gap in current educational strategies but also offers practical solutions to enhance the overall quality of primary education, laying the groundwork for future advancements in teacher professional development.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to analyze issues in the implementation of innovative learning media in science education at elementary schools through the 2013 Curriculum and the Merdeka Curriculum. The subjects of this study are fifth-grade teachers in public elementary schools located in Jakarta. The research employs a qualitative descriptive method, using techniques such as interviews and observations. The results of the study show that the learning media plays a crucial role in the implementation of learning activities in the classroom, as well as in enhancing students' motivation to learn and their interest in the subject.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to analyze the implementation of approaches and learning models in the Indonesian language subject at the Elementary School level. The subjects of this study are fourth-grade teachers in several public elementary schools located in Jakarta. The research employs a qualitative descriptive method through techniques such as interviews, observations, and literature reviews (library research). The findings of the study reveal that many teachers use contextual approaches and the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model in teaching Indonesian language in the classroom. This is because these approaches and models are considered more suitable for the current development and needs of students.

Abstract

Students will not master mathematics material if they have difficulty in understanding concepts. To understand concepts, literacy skills are needed. Someone who can understand concepts well and is also skilled in mathematics should be sensitive to mathematical concepts related to problems. From this awareness then comes the strategy to formulate the problem in mathematical form and then solve it. Formulating, applying and interpreting are all part of this process. The purpose of this research is to explore the concept of mathematical literacy and analyse the role of mathematical literacy in the 21st century, examining some of the factors that are thought to influence mathematical literacy achievement and mathematical connection skills. The results showed that mathematical literacy can be realised through contextualised learning in achieving the goal of mathematical literacy, teachers must engage students in important activities that help them relate academic lessons to the real-world contexts they face. Mathematical literacy can be realised in learning that is concrete and teachers should teach by linking learning with students’ daily lives by doing contextual learning or doing the Realistic Mathematics Learning movement, both of which are considered good in improving the mathematical literacy skills of elementary school student.

Abstract

The COVID-19 epidemic has significantly affected the education sector, resulting in a shift from traditional offline learning to online platforms. Quizizz is a media tool that teachers can utilize during online learning. The objective of this study is to ascertain whether the utilization of Quizizz as a learning medium has an impact on students' academic achievements. The research methodology employed is quantitative, utilizing a pre-experimental research design. The participants consisted of 26 fourth-grade kids. The data collection methods employed included the utilization of tests and questionnaires. The pre-test score yielded a mean result of 65.19, whereas the post-test score yielded a mean result of 88.08. Based on the research data analysis conducted using SPSS version 25, the results of the paired sample t-test indicate that the two-tailed significance value (sig) is 0.000, which is less than the significance level of 0.05. Therefore, we may conclude that the null hypothesis (H0) is rejected and the alternative hypothesis (H1) is accepted. The study findings suggest that the utilization of Quizizz as a learning tool has a significant impact on students' academic performance in mathematics when accessed online at SDN Gunggung Sumenep.

Abstract

This study focuses on developing environmental care character through role-playing methods among elementary school students. The method is designed to enhance students' understanding and awareness of environmental issues by integrating role-playing into their curriculum. The research involves elementary school students as the main subjects, employing a qualitative approach to collect data through observation, interviews, and document analysis. The findings indicate that the role-playing method is effective in shaping environmental care character among students, increasing their participation in environmental conservation activities, and enriching their learning experiences. This study contributes to the development of learning strategies that emphasize the formation of environmental care character from an early age, empowering students to become responsible agents of change for the future environment. The research provides a foundation for implementing similar methods in the context of character education at the elementary school level.

Abstract

Critical thinking skills are important to develop early on for elementary school students so they are able to solve problems well. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of implementing inquiry learning model in developing critical thinking skills of elementary school students. This quasi-experimental designed study involved grade students divided into experimental group (inquiry model) and control group (conventional learning). Pretest and posttest instruments were used to measure students' critical thinking skills, then will be analyzed. The results showed that the improvement of critical thinking skills of experimental group students was significantly higher than the control group. This proves that inquiry learning model is effective for developing critical thinking skills of elementary school students. Therefore, it is recommended for teachers to implement inquiry learning models to stimulate and improve students' critical thinking abilities.
